Strange, I still haven't seen an ad on my phone for this movie yet.
How you liking your Equinox EV there?

People are always crying for discounts, coupons, freebies, etc.
Now Apple offers a $10 OFF discount for a Movie Ticket, and people crying and complain. If Apple didn’t, they would have complained about how greedy is Apple that don’t give their users a discount.
If you want to be technical, it was a promotional discount code given to Wallet app users.Because it's my Wallet app!
Apple -- GTFO with ADs for your movie in my Wallet!
The complaint is that if any finance company with a card or pass in Apple Wallet had used the notification system to push an add they would have been in breach of the T&Cs that specifically prohibit this sort of misusing push notifications for adverts. It's intrusive and double standards ( and is the sort of thing that gets Apple investigated for anti-competitive practices by regulators, so it's doubly odd that they did it - though it seems to have been restricted to areas that don't have strong regulators...)People are always crying for discounts, coupons, freebies, etc.

So they used the notification channel of the Apple Wallet app. They could have used the TV+ App, which not everyone has access to. Or the Apple Music app, but people would have complained that this is a Music App; also, not everybody uses it.
So the way to reach the most users is the Wallet app.
Please stop being crybabies; if you don’t want the discount just ignore it and trash it.
They've done other similar promo deals for Apple Pay in the past too.
It’s not out yet so how is super well received?Killers of the Flower Moon and F1: The Movie are both super well received
I agree, this smacks of the doofus that replaced Jobs, I think his name was Scully.Another example of Marketing running Apple like the "good ol" days before Apple plummeted.
it’s not just that, it’s also that he literally admits that the one single ad Apple has sent is annoying… And then writes multiple articles about it.Totally agree, he was saying that apple not accepting his invitation was a 'Win' for him, but it wasn't and I think he knows that. While he may feel free to either express his real feelings or to now go at Apple, he's lost all credible no matter what.
but I feel like this would only get anywhere if other financial companies didn’t do the exact same things, which they do.The complaint is that if any finance company with a card or pass in Apple Wallet had used the notification system to push an add they would have been in breach of the T&Cs that specifically prohibit this sort of misusing push notifications for adverts. so it’s clearly not in violation of the terms of service, or else pretty much every single company ever is violating it.
I mean, it probably kinda does if you get down to it. Any of your credit cards are advertising the network they run on. Any of your "punch cards", coupons, etc. are promotional items. Receipts often have ads on them or on the back. Tickets for events typically have coupons or other promotions on them. Even the wallet itself probably has a brand on it, effectively self-advertising.My physical wallet doesn’t feed me ads. Why the hell are they now appearing inside my digital one?
every movie these days has to be at least 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hours long, and every TV show, even the ones that advertise themselves as half hour comedies, all have to be at least 40 to 90 minutes an episode, if not two hours. Why is this movie 2.5 hrs long. That's too long watching cars go fast, interspersed with boring drama I won't care about

For what it's worth, I generally spend 3+ hours most weekends watching F1 qualifying/races 😳Why is this movie 2.5 hrs long. That's too long watching cars go fast, interspersed with boring drama I won't care about
