Just like any other article before it and after it.

Seems many don't agree with your erroneous replies.. Also, you posted an article that was from Digitimes, Who has a known sketchy track record. It's not indicative of anything because nothing is factual in the link you provided. You posted the first link you Googled without even reading it Clearly.

This one was especially noticeable. "We'll wait for apples financial results as apple said it was a blockbuster quarter, but MKG may be able to provide some more insight to show how bad the quarter really was, and by the way if we hear more we'll bring to it you."

Compared to which isn’t - show me a link? I know you will post something like this: iPhone X high in demand, doing so well etc but without facts so if it is not noticeable then it must true, right?

Apples guidance isn’t usually off by much. Their guidance for this quarter was $87b.

Many or just you and your new friend?

This was just a prediction - 5 weeks ago: http://appleinsider.com/articles/17...liday-quarter-estimates-84b-to-87b-in-revenue

5 weeks later, I don’t hear anything, why?

You just take it too personally, and I don’t understand why?

Not sure if the subject at hand if we’re discussing Face ID, “Apple is doomed”, apple’s upcoming guidance or taking it personally. Please pick one.

Not you. I am talking to your friend in regards personally.

I never once said Apple is doomed. In regards to your post, I just said it was a prediction, but haven’t heard anything after.

Do you think Apple will, perhaps not in 2018, but in 2019 start to shrink the notch?
As Sensors get smaller, the notch can get smaller.

Of do you think they may keep it the same size and fit more items in there?

Or just keep it the same size, for the sake of it?

I can imagine it may run this size for a few models, and then get a shrink in a few years.

I haven't. But your post history is a direct reflection of your own disapproval for Face ID, which you seem to consistently disparage against because you don't agree with it. So based on that, I would say you're the one that has the personal issue against face ID and Apple's direction altogether. My post(s) have been on topic and have debunked your own replies, at least in terms of questions you refuse to answer for the sake of discussion. As I said before, I think a lot of what you're posting is nonsensical and you're refuting for the Sake of having the last word.

Thanks for the discussion.

At the risk of sounding like a grinch at this time of the year, I am wondering who shares my feelings that this new macrumors “video guy” was a bad choice for MR?

I have seen enough of his productions now (this latest one likely being the last) to get the distinct impression that all off his videos are of the paid reviewer formula: this is good, but the competition is good...we’ll just have to wait to decide blah blah blah... politician-like rhetoric that in the end says nothing.

It doesn’t really jibe with the original spirit of MR that originally drew me to the site. Back in the day, when Apple did something great we’d hear about it, and when they did something bad we’d hear about that too. But there was an actual opinion and good factual info that was well researched (sometimes based on erroneous rumours, but they made no apologies for that-and it was an accepted grain by the audience).

Sorry, IMO this guy needs to go. He has fine presentation skills...for another site, so I’m sure he’d land on his feet. No ill will intended.

just my 2 cents.

Everything at MR is becoming steadily more generic, so these videos are just part and parcel of the overall trend towards weak presentation of less interesting content.

It is far easier to fool the iris scanner.

Few people cared about mobile phone security until Apple released Touch ID.
And few people used phones to make payments until Apple released Touch ID. I have several credit and debit cards stored on my phone. I want them to be secure.

What an incredibly stupid, aimless video. I feel diminished for having wasted the bandwidth and time to watch it.

Has Apple ever missed their guidance? They often miss “analysts” inflated bogus guidance, but I can’t remember if Apple has ever missed their own guidance.

Please.

Apple gives guidance at the previous earnings call. Apple doesn’t revise or update their guidance throughout the current quarter.

Not sure what you’re trying to imply by Apple being silent on guidance, since that’s what they ALWAYS do.

FaceID is not perfect nor is TouchID but 100% prefer FaceID. I do like how the notifications are hidden until you FaceID and works with wet hands! I wear nitrile gloves at work and its so much easier to unlock my phone.

FaceID doesn't work when you cover the sensors?!

If only Face ID or Touch ID could replace all my passwords.

Don't be too eager about that.
There is nothing more secure than a password.
You are the only form of life in the entire universe that knows your password that is stored inside your brain.

FWIW I wasn’t trying to start a strawman argument earlier.

I am sincerely baffled when people say they have nothing to hide. I’m worried for them, and their lack of caution tends to put everyone at risk, too. That’s all. But I appreciate you calling out my hyperbole.

I'm right there with you 100%. Even if you aren't worried about prying eyes into your emails and texts, the danger is still there in so many ways—like losing your phone, as you mentioned.

Thanks for the extremely civil and polite response. And my apologies for being snarky in my initial reply, too. Often these forums bring out the worst in people, and I'm guilty of responding in kind when pointing it out—and sometimes (as in this case) of misinterpreting what other people are saying, too.

By the way, I love your profile icon. That bug may be fixed, but it still makes me giggle like a school girl.

Well said. You are a gentleman and a scholar. Your thoughtful response is appreciated. And yep, the calculator bug was a good one!

Lol!! You new to stocks? Once guidance is issued, it’s typically set unless something catastrophic happens and they revise DOWNWARD. Apple has literally never revised guidance upward.

Publicly traded companies don’t make a habit of coming or and saying, “we are still going to hit those numbers we gave you a couple months ago.”

Stay in your lane when you are not at all ready to discuss stocks.

Get ready to eat crow wh n Apple puts up over $90B in January. Jaws will drop.

I’m only human lol thanks for the info. Okay, let’s wait until January.
