It does that on FB.com now also. I believe it's if the other person is no longer online also. It's clever in the way it saves you chat messages as inbox messages too.

It is clever if I am signed-out or unavailable. Doing it in the middle of the conversation fragments the discussion into two separate areas. It is pretty confusing when you are trying to follow along.

Buggy as hell

So far I am not impressed at all. I've only been using for 5 minutes and I'm seeing nothing but bugs and things that are broken. It's really embarrassing... surely Facebook can do better than this?!?

This was the first thing I tested as it's annoying as it's not coming through to notification centre GRRR

Does anyone know how to access "Lists" of friends on the new app? (Like "Family," or any personal lists of friends that I've made that are on facebook.com and were part of the app before today's upgrade).

Really liking the new iPhone version. Side bar and notifications are way better.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_5 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8L1 Safari/6533.18.5)

Yes new futures now you can play games and it's faster

Well, it wouldn't start for me so have tried turning my iPhone off to get it stuck on a black screen so this is going well :D

(Not blaming FB for the failure for it to turn off, just amused by how wrong this has gone for me!)

For something that feels almost exactly like the old iPhone app (and not the new 4.0 app, cause they're pretty much exactly the same). I'm trying to understand what took them so long to implement this.

I was expecting some interesting UI changes or simply just something more than the iPhone app with more screen real-estate. Perhaps that new timeline feature, or is that still on hold thanks to timeline.com or w/e

Can't see the option as per the iPhone version to change from News Feed to Status Updates and photos (to see other people's photos all in one place).

Also installed on iphone4 and just shows new opening page with spinning circle.

Just downloaded the new FB app and it runs and looks great on my first gen ipad.

My ONLY beef, is that although it is super easy to post pictures now which is Awesome....there is still no way to post a video link with a thumbnail. In the past you were able to paste a link in, and it would create a thumbnail of the webpage or video for you. Then they got rid of that for the ipad, and i was hoping this update would bring it back.

From what i see so far, the answer is no they didn't.

Anyone else find it?

Thanks.

Well, this update totally F'ed up my iPhone. Everything was freezing and stuttering. I deleted the app and had to do a hard restart so that my iPhone would actually work again.

Well done.
