Facebook is behaving like a little child / Epic Games.
Their campaign is about profit. Their profit.
Ha and let me guess. Apple is not about profit. Everything Apple does it does out of goodness for its customers, not profit. Please. We are talking about the richest company worth over 2 trillion dollars. Every single little minuscule thing Apple does is in furtherance of enriching its bottom line.

Nope. Just someone who works and expects to get paid for that work. I totally understand you work for free, but you can't expect Facebook or any company to work for free. Your beloved Apple doesn't do a single thing for free.

I have no devotion to any brand but don't even try comparing Apple to Facebook. They are at opposite ends when it comes to privacy.

Why is Suckerberg is so persistent ? Maybe he afraid no longer able to play his favorite tune?

Your version is almost as creepy as the original. (What makes the original song so creepy is that some people never figured out that it is about a stalker.)

How can we have facts about Apple? They are the least transparent company in the history of the world. No one really knows exactly what Apple is tracking. And since the new regulations won't affect Apple's Ad platform we probably never will.

I'm sorry, but I really don't know what you're talking about. You cannot conflate product pipeline secrecy with privacy stance secrecy. They are very clear in their privacy policies and documentation. They are also clear in their overall public executive stance, Tim, Craig, etc. The approach they are taking with all their products is pushing Privacy as a feature. Also, all you have to do is actually use Apple's advertising platform to know what you can, and cannot, target. Having used Facebooks advertising platform, I could actually drill down to the point where I could target a single person with an advertisement. There are stories of people spending $20 in FB ads to target specific hiring managers at companies they wanted to work at. Try and specifically target a hiring manager at a company using Apple's advertising platform, it isn't possible.

Aaaah! Facebook, that huge corporation which only thinks abd care about people, and barely thinks in profit

i work in digital apps, I know very well how this news are shaking the 2 giants google and facebook, who sum the 60% of USA online marketing!!! but let’s see how this evolve in future.

Love this kind of thinking. Facebook is bad because they provide a service I use for free, but they generate 99% of their income through advertising. Apple is good because I give them thousands and thousands of dollars for all my gadgets which become obsolete in a year, but they still had a ad platform which is not subject to any regulation. It's ok that Apple does it because they don't generate as much of their income from advertising as Facebook does. Damn do the cultists on here even stop and think about their rationalizations before they type them out?
The difference is you know exactly what your relationship is with Apple when you buy a product from them.
However, most people have no idea what their relationship with Facebook actually is when they use there services.
FB can literally change how you think (Cambridge Analytica). They can lo-key pressure sell you into buying stuff you never dreamed of buying. They can radicalise people into politics they never even knew existed.
All because they never really fully disclose the nature of your relationship with them.

And if they really did disclose fully to its users what they do, how they use the data they gather etc.. Then they would have no problem with do not track options etc... Because their users will happily click yes, track me everywhere!

FB have nothing to fear from transparency... 😳☺️

Tracking someone with out their knowledge isn't work. That's idiotic. If you are really honestly wanting to work to make an honest dollar then you are ok with informing our customers of what you are doing and they should have the right to know and make a choice when using a "free" service.

I HATE COMPANIES THAT ARE SHILLING OUT THEIR FREE PRODUCTS AT THE COSTS OF PERSONAL CONFIDENTIALITY! ESPECIALLY WHEN THAT COMPANY IS NOT COMPLETELY TRANSPARENT ABOUT WHAT THEY ARE DOING.

SCREW THAT COMPANY!

You opt out of Apple by not buying their products. Feel free to go elsewhere and complain about cultists.
Exactly the same argument for Facebook. why are you crying about Facebook and still using the service. Feel free to use another service and stop crying and complaining and whining about Facebook WHICH YOU USE FOR FREE

Are you serious? I'm not sure if you're joking. Who doesn't know Facebook is tracking them? I'm pretty sure every single last human being on this planet Earth knows Facebook's business model. Please don't try to feign ignorance. Facebook tracks it's users and monetizes that. That has been known for over a decade now. Thanks but try again

You pay for that access with every piece of information you ever put on Facebook. It's not free, it's just a different form of currency.

You expect way too much of society. Have you forgotten Cambridge Analytica, or do you ignore the facts as soon as you see that stock ticker go up?

Oh I'm not joking! I hate when companies are not transparent. They are evil and regulation should protect consumers!

Otherwise, you end up with companies that are just doing anything to harm their consumers in the name of profit! SCREW THAT!

Companies should be required to be completely transparent about what they are doing when they shill out their "free" services!

There are no free services, you just pay for therm in different ways. Facebook isn't a multi-billion dollar company by accident.

Then explain one thing: Why is Apple's ad platform not subject to the same rules that every one else is subjected to? Facebook is 100% in the right here. Yes, fine it might be a good thing what Apple is doing, but why are they excluding their own platform from the regulations they are setting for every other company? Double standards much?

Yes, but it is a choice correct? I know of no government on Earth which forces its citizens to use Facebook. Every single person or company that chooses to use and advertise on Facebook knows what the trade offs are. You can't use it then complain later about it.
