I was actually playing Fallout 1 during class last night and.... *sigh* i want THAT again :( Oh well. I know you can get Dogmeat but really, this game needs the Fable II dog or something since it feels just like Oblivion, empty (which I suppose is the point)

And my game keeps crashing, damn Vista...

Wow it took me almost two hours to complete one mission...my goal was to retrieve the declaration of independence...I got there thinking I'm scott free only to be greeted by a robot wearing a wig lecturing me and giving me another quest just to complete my original quest...FORGET that! I blasted him and his buddies and took the thing.

I went back to rivet city only to be greeted by an angry chick lecturing me about some fool android and how I should let him be free...at this point I didn't give a damn about that mission so I accepted her request and went on my way.

I got a pretty hefty penny killing and raving buildings trying to complete that mission also I made some money from the history museum with the lincoln coin collection, doll and poster...so I didn't care about the money of the other mission anymore.

I got some negative karma from killing the wig wearing robot but I couldn't be bothered.

Bless

Glad you said that...I'm side tracking the main mission and try to do at least five side missions before completing one main mission. I'm really taking my time with this game because like oblivion its just too long to rush and I really don't want to miss things.

Funnily enough, doing that you can miss parts of the main quest!

I had a side quest which lead me to Rivet City before GNR Radio, which lead me on to the next location in the main quest - I could have skipped GNR Radio entirely. (Though what's the point in rushing, I went back to do that quest anyway).

I do like the longer, multi-faceted quests though. It's not just "go to X, kill Y".

I did find one glitch in the PS3 version, if you're getting a facial reconstruction during the game, the face view is invisible. And unfortunately, you can't cancel out - so you have to go through with the surgery with no idea about what you look like! :)

You see, I've never been the biggest RPG fan, but now that I got Mass Effect I'm addicted. Now I want Fallout 3 even more than before. And Fable 2....

Oblivion was my first RPG, and I'm still playing it (only downloaded the Shivering Isles recently). Mass Effect had been described as "Oblivion in space", which is what I wanted and didn't live up to that billing at all, IMO.

Fallout 3 is a lot more like it. Superb. Fable 2 I wouldn't be in any rush to buy; nothing special IMO.

@ whooleytoo

Definitely buy The Witcher next year. I stopped playing Fallout 3 for this game, but that's not to say that I'm not looking forward to getting back to F3, because from what I played I started to enjoy.

I'm going to buy Mass Effect when it dips a bit more in price, it wasn't a the best port.

It's pretty laggy on the 360... But I can deal with it.

Trust me it sucks you in...... I've spent hours on it playing both as evil and good. Spent a fortune buying up all the properties and businesses and now make a fortune every five minutes in rent... even when my 360 is turned off :D

I love Fable 2 and my many many partners.... yet I still have a halo around my head ? Obviously one ring isn't affected by the other :D

I completed the game(main story) today and the ending was disappointing...I'm glad I saved before the last mission now I can go and mess around in the world and kill a few things(with my mutant sidekick)

I ended the game being the highest of saints but when I do start a new game I think I'm going to be the meanest SOB in the capital wasteland.

Same, and I'm enjoying my second game tremendously. I'm trying to get all the bobble-heads and do any quests I skipped. And explore, etc.

Fun, fun game though.

Trophy patch is here for the PS3 players....I'll check it out when I'm ready to play as my evil character.

Hope they fix that annoying friend pop up freeze.

Bless

They did fix it, and oh glorious addictive Trophies on top of an already addicting game, how you slowly suck the life from me.

^ Shame they haven't fixed the Auto-Save bug which can cause delayed saving and black screens for 30 seconds or so every-time it auto-saves.

Thankfully that can be fixed by turning auto save off, however you have to remember to save yourself then...

I'm almost done with this game. I'm about 3 missions into the actual story-line but I have put in 33 hours doing other crap. It's just like Oblivion in that regard... But yeah, I have no drive to continue on with the game. The combat is getting tiresome (1. get up close 2. VATS w/ combat shotgun 3. They die), the story is average and frankly, the leveling up is VERY unsatisfying.

Stop using VATS! Turn the difficult up from Medium to Hard or Very Hard. Makes it much more strategic.

At around level 16 (About when I learned about the damn flashlight) combat had gotten way too easy, so I cranked it up. Gave it a lot of fun.

It's worth finishing the game to get the Liberty Prime sequence =D The game ends REALLY quickly if you focus on the main quests, just do those real fast and call it a day.

Vats is the only way I will play the game. It's one of the worst FPS' without it. The mechanics are crap since it's an RPG with FPS clothes. But besides that, it feels too much like a grind for every quest. I just don't feel like doing them anymore. The fact that the world is a depressing ****hole doesn't make me wanna stay much either :p at least Cyril (or whatever it was called) was nice to look at.

Well... I decided to just get Fable 2 instead. It was a good choice, cause I love the game, and I got it for $45 at Best Buy! I was at Target today, $40 for Fallout 3! Pretty tempting... but I've still got some games for the Wii to beat, a few for the PS3 (and I want to play more MGO and R2 online), and lots of games for my newly acquired 360 to beat. So I'm set... for now. Once I actually have time to play Fallout 3, maybe it'll be a Platinum title ($30!), or I could borrow it once my friend beats it ($0!).

26 hours, finally finished the main quest. Enjoyed the game, but found the end mission to be a real let down and utterly devoid of challenge. Endings also dissapointed.

I thoroughly enjoyed the game for the most part, but need a break before I consider playing it again.

I agree, Fallout 4 should rock though =D They've put a good engine/experience in place, now they just need to flesh flesh flesh flesh it out more.

The whole ending experience really was a let down, although like I said earlier, the Liberty Prime thing was pretty fun.

So I'm a couple of months late but wow. Just started playing this game fully and I'm really into it, which is really odd considering I don't normally get hooked on new games. Probably helps that my girlfriend is massively obsessed (played 360 version, ran out and bought PC collectors edition with bobble head pip boy :D).
Currently playing it on my MB (bought over Steam) with a 360 controller. Tried with the mouse but given that it's not a strict FPS it's nice to sit back with a controller.

Though I'm only about 2 hours in I can't wait for the DLC. I love just exploring the landscape, so even more of the same would keep me playing. And technically the main game is DLC for me :D

You're insane!!! :) Even if you don't need to rely on a mouse for aiming, the hand wrist thing that pops up still benefits greatly from a pointer. ;)

I haven't played this game since I bought it the first week or so. I got lost in other games. Speaking of which, Mass Effect is EVIL for making me play through it twice!!
