This is the first I've heard anything like that - if someone does indeed have some news on this please post a link! Not sure why Fox would do that due to the show's populartity and success right now...

So volume 3 on DVD is just half of season 4?

Depends if you go off tv.com or not. Technically, Peter's Got Woods was the first episode of Season 5, so according to that, the first 3 episodes of Season 5 are actually on the Volume 3 DVD set. TV.com still has everything listed as Season 4 though....

Didn't Family Guy restart halfway during last season so season 4 was half a season and season 5 started in September.

So tonight's episode was pretty good... they made fun of John Goodman's eating habits, Gene Shalit's awful puns during movie reviews, Adam West (singing his name over and over again), and The Empire Strikes Back.

Loved this bit (while they are singing at the end):

Brian: "I love the work of Allen Funt!"
Stewie: "And a nicely shaven leg!"

:D

that part about John Goodman was funny as hell....do u think they watch the show? i like john but i know that would make him pissed

Bless
I know that sometimes they've actually gotten the help of those they're making fun of... for example, the time Lois praised Peter for his use of topical humor like on Murphy Brown, and then they cut to a vignette of Murphy Brown complete with the actual voices of Candice Bergen, Faith Ford, Joe Regalbuto, and Charles Kimbrough. And of course they have Adam West playing himself as a bit of a weirdo as the mayor of Quahog.

I don't think that was John Goodman's voice, though.

I thought Peter trying to feed Brian while wearing that restraint-thing around his neck was pretty funny. "Here comes the gravy!!!"

i like when Meg had the mullet... "mom why is the cable guy here...: :D

Haha...

Peter: "That is....AWESOME"

Can someone please explain to me the relevance of the part in the beginning, when Chris' head is being attached by a machine, and he walks out of the bathroom past Meg who thinks nothing of it?

That entire scene was a rip-off of the scene from The Empire Strikes Back where Admiral Piett sees Darth Vader's helmet being lowered back onto his head as he sits inside his "pod" aboard the Executioner.

I didn't think yesterday's (or earlier for you guys :)) episode was that great. The here comes the gravy was a pretty funny bit though. :)

I think they've gone too far. Family Guy has always pushed the envelope, but Stewie (twice) savagely beating Brian for extended periods was too much for me. They're trying so hard for that shock value that they've really crossed a line.

oh, and that song sequence on the football field? about 5x too long.

I would have to agree completely.

Not that there weren't funny parts, but they were subtle(r).

The parts quoted (above) had all the subtlety of a sledgehammer.

Yeah, I liked the Tome as well, but am happy with how tv.com has worked out too... ;)
Only when it works. ;) Always seem to have issues with it in FireFox. Plus it's too cluttered now.

Anyone else notice that Simpsons did a really long sequence with Flanders singing? Family Guy influence maybe? Pretty funny considering just a few weeks ago they were making fun of Peter being so similar to Homer and American Dad being like a rip off of FG. Just thought it was funny.

Eh, last night's episode wasn't so great...I'd have to say the only parts I really enjoyed were Stewie beating the crap out of Brian. "Yeah bitch, see what happens? This is what happens!" lol

Yeah, it was alright, but some of the humor was a bit too blunt and extreme this time - didn't enjoy it as much as the other episodes of late. Ah well, it's still all good. :)

Last nights episode was way too much of " hey we love the patriots and tom brady, lets write a script so we can drag him in here for a week doing a voiceover and hang out with him because we love him so much"

Victory Tune was pretty hilarious, British TV, Attractive Women Magazine
