Whether you believe it or not, for some people it does just work.

My wife and I aren't experiencing any problems with our phones.

I'm probably more tired of the irrational over-the-top complainers.

As we all understand "for some people" means something quite opposite of "it just works". It either just works (i.e. for all) or it does not. This time around it clearly does not. But the original message was not even about this. You just proved the point made by the thread originator.

Dude with the "Badboy Pro™", what you call "fanboyism" is what kept Apple in business during its darker days. W/o them there would be no Apple today.

I think very few people remember those days or appreciate just how bad it got for Apple then. It's incomprehensible how much things have changed since the iMac. And you are absolutely right about the fanbase keeping Apple going and they know it.

I think people who just not care about other people's purchases. It's the popular thing now and of course everything likes to bash the popular thing.

The truth is that there is a problem with the antenna (if you use the iPhone 4 without any case). I didn't noticed about this because I put a cover right away and worked fine. After I read the forums I took the phone out of the case (now a bumper) and I replicated the problem. I tried my wife phone, same thing. I thought "How something like this escape from the Apple QC department? But no problem because the case eliminate this issue." Sadly the biggest disappointment of the telephone was not the iPhone but Steve Jobs attitude replying "You're holding it wrong" or buy a case. This is unacceptable Apple. Before having a "patch" that maybe or maybe not fix this issue, what you really need is COMMUNICATION with your loyal customers about this issue and instead of ignoring us at least saying "we are working on it" or "we are looking into this" but please stop ignoring your customers Apple! :apple:

this is very well put! Good post stryker.....I never had this issue with my iphone 3g....I get worse service in all the same places with my iphone 4 ....HOPEFULLY apple comes out with a fix, but is it truly a "software" issue or a "hardware" issue?! And is Apple really likely going to recall all of their phones....probably not....So why should us as consumers have to suffer because Apple has to big of an ego.....I'm not a "fanboy" of apple by any sense of the word....I'm just a consumer that purchased the iphone 3g, and now the iphone 4 that was expecting to be able to use it like I did the old model....

+1,000
Fix my phone, Steve.

Honestly i could care less if someone's product is working. Yeah it sucks but why should i let my enjoyment of something hinge on someone eles issues?

I'm a fanboy of apple as i am of the chicago cubs, lost, harry potter,Volkswagon and countless other brands and sports. I pay my taxes and i respect the law and i don't need no stinking keyboard warrior trying to bash me for things that i buy with my money.

If your iPhone is not working then deal with it. But don't expect me to hate apple for it. In technology nothing is perfect but considering i've had smartphones and cell phones since i was 17 years old and now i'm 30 in my whole life the iPhone 4 hands down is the best phone that i have owned.

And i'm not going to apologize for that. Some of you guys love to antagonize people online. Which IMO is pathetic i suggest you get a life and stop worrying so much about what people choose to buy with their money.

.

You are correct. It shouldn't mess up your enjoyment.

But this is a forum where we talk about issues both good and bad. This is our voice. And sometimes our ONLY voice to a big company like Apple. Don't try to shut us up with your snarky comments.

Steve, fix my phone!

Don't try to shut us up with your snarky comments.

I'm not being snarky. I'm just speaking the truth which seems to be absent along with being rational thought and logic about the issue at hand.

Now maybe some people love to live in little plastic mental bubbles where they just see what they want to see. But life is better without blinders. But you may disagree.

To be completely honest there is a mania among "Apple fans" this past week that is interfering with critical thinking. Perhaps after the iPhone fever settles, people will be able to be more objective.

Those who either don't have an iPhone 4 or don't/haven't yet experienced the problem, need to accept the fact that their observation of the universe doesn't necessarily reflect the state of things for some/many/most.

That's right. I was a self-confessed fanboy for many years starting with my Apple II. I've been sober since June 24th.

Those with any problems also need to realize they aren't necessarily entitled to an immediate resolution of the problems. Anyone screaming about recalls and dishonesty at this point is being completely unreasonable. At the very least, Apple should get some patience and maturity while they figure out the scope of the problem and how they plan to deal with it. The iPhone 4 hasn't been out a week yet and all the armchair engineers are clamoring for a recall or something being given to them for free. Its way too early for that. At worst, all someone deserves is their money back when they return the phone.

If I was having issues with mine, I'd be at the front of the return line.

You're totally right. I would give them time to fix it. But they aren't saying ANYTHING about it, so in the absence of information, people tend to assign the worst motives.

I don't want to return my phone. I just want the calls fixed. This is our only way to get their attention.

While everything you said is true.....Steve Jobs didn't have to completly ignore the problem either....He said there is not a reception problem with the iPhone 4 which is totally untrue......

We DO believe it works. We just want ours to work too. I've never complained about (flash, multitasking, camera, etc). But I draw the line at a "phone" that can't complete 50% of its calls.

I want what you have. I just feel powerless to get Apple to respond.

They DID respond, He said there isn't an issue! And that we should "stay tuned".......that to me is unacceptable!

I just got my iPhone 4 with a black bumper three hours ago and I have no problems to report with reception or screen.

The only regret I have is wasting so much time on these forums listening to people smash Apple and nervously awaiting the delivery of my iPhone. I fully expected a defective product and I am overly satisfied. I think the majority of users are satisfied as well.

My girlfriend wants to know if I'll be visiting the forums so frequently since my iPhone has arrived, and I answered with a resounding no. Once it arrived, it just became my phone. I love it, but there's far more to life than these things boys.

newbie here, not a fanboy, not a hater. i've been planning on getting an iphone 4 but have similar hesitations on jumping in, this early.

i agree its as simple as this - if the phone does not work for you, return it for a replacement, or choose another phone.

there is another problem though - for those that have issues with their phones and have still kept them, why? are you hoping that steve jobs will tuck you to bed later tonight and tell you everything's going to be okay? is it because you find it difficult to let go of what you thought would make you look cool, smart, or privileged? are you hoping that apple will send some apologies, recalls, or fixes in the next few days? how much time are you willing to give them, and once time is up, what do you plan to do next?

if a company does not show you that it is working hard to earn your business, why give it to them?

Another snarky one. And he doesn't even have a phone. According to you, you ain't cool yet.

How old are you?

Enjoy, and don't post in complaining threads. Seems to be taking away from time you could be enjoying.
Seems simple.
Or is it?

I'm on my second 4G and that's what I'm doing... and since I am a fan, I will probably get an iPad.

So, in the end, Apple will have an extra $100 of my money, but at least it won't be for faulty products...

Since you don't even know that the iPhone is not called the 4G, and claim you've had 2, we can safely assume that you are a troll.

not as juvenile as ^ , fellow newbie.

don't get me wrong - i want apple to fix these issues so i can get an ip4. but tell me, if apple does not fix these issues even after getting their 'attention', what are you going to do? just continue complaining?

It's not taking away from my enjoyment. Seems like your the one who is upset because your iphone is not working. So i will continue to enjoy mine as you continue to loath yours.

Have fun and i guess it's true what they said misery loves company but i won't be joining you on your cruise of sadness.

I don't even have one.
FTW.
But you're still here.
Jedi? Not likely.
Zen Master? Hardly.

You got me there, bro. I'm a newbie to this forum, but not a newbie to Apple since my first computer was an Apple II. If the problem is not fixed, then I don't know...

Seriously, I only voice complain here to keep the issue alive in front of Apple. If we grow quiet, I'm afraid that they'll move on. An open hearted moment from a whiner.

I loved all my apple stuff to date including other iPhones, iMac, MBA and iPad. I want to keep the good times coming.
