Camino and tenfourfox. I use Camino because it has flash support. LOL flash 11 is on ppc (a developer actually had the guts to PORT it to the ppc) and it works fine. TFF has no plugins support but it is faster.:p

Uhhh

....no, its not. Unless you can provide a link to said developer and "port" all the flash 11.X hack does is SPOOF websites into thinking you have a newer flash. Flash is proprietary software, Adobe does not release the code, so what you are saying is illegal and impossible.

I use safari because it works :) :apple:
I don't. Because it doesn't.

I see. How is your dock set up like that? Back to Safari, I am yet to have problems with it. I also use Safari to watch Youtube because it uses HTML5 instead of Flash.

Correct me if I am wrong about anything. It earns myself knowledge and anyone else who reads this.

You can use a couple Terminal commands to pin the dock to the Left, Center (Normal) or Right side of the screen, or Top, Center, or Bottom if set up on the side. Onyx has simple preferences you can set to achieve this too.

I have been using Leopard-WebKit Stable for a while on my PowerBook G4 without any issues. I have SIMBL installed so I have a unified URL/Search bar like in recent Safari releases. The only time I got those "Taking too long" errors is when I used AdBlock, after I uninstalled the plugin Safari/WebKit became fast as hell.

TenFourFox eats all my memory but now that I installed 2GB into the machine, it shouldn't be as big as a problem.

After using TenFourFox and Safari more often i tend to use Safari for browing forums etc.. lite browsing is what I would call it. Then I switch on over to TenFourFox when things tend to get sticky. TenFourFox is still supported and that is awesome.

For 10.5, I use Safari. Its great. I can use the YouTube5 extension and watch YouTube on my iMac G4.

With 10.4, I bounce between TenFourFox and Safari.

OS 9-10.3, I always use Classilla. Its perfect, runs in the Classic Environment under OS X and loads most sites in the mobile form.

The oldest, mostly usable verison of Safari is verison 4, which requires 10.4.11+. Anything older is far to out of date.

This site does not work in Firefox 3.6.28 (10.4.11)
does work best in Safari 4.1.3 (10.4.11)
does work half way, keeps on loading the page (trailer preview picture at the top is not shown) in 10.4Fox

Machine: ibook G4 1,33GHz (mid2005)

I guess I can't get around having a variety of browsers at hand. Safari for instance, does not work properly with Ebay. So I need both.

WebKit (that browser) is fastest on my G4 but not as compatible as TenFourFox (or websites are not as compatible, dunno which way it is). On old slow system like this PowerBook speed matters the most so I say Webkit, TFF as backup.

Call me stupid, but I can't find a browser with the name "Webkit", only the Engine. -> Google: Webkit browser

What do you think of bumpercar (kids browser), since it blocks many things, is it faster, too? (if one clicks on the developer link, one gets forwarded to a games website... hm.)

Anybody here use Stainless? :p

I really wish Stainless would get picked up by someone, it was a brilliant web browser that has sadly been left behind since the developer stopped work on it. I tried it again the other day, it was lightning quick but not very compatible and full of bugs.

These are the web browsers I like the most

on Tiger its omniweb and Tenfourfox

on Leopard it's roccat with webkit installed

With safari omnibar simbl installed I think LeopardWK (webkit) looks like stainless, but faster. Love it

Me too! I love Leopard webkit. It's really fast and great. I also use TFF for its ability to be totally customizable, and because it's great to have the most modern version of FF on PPC!

hey bro :)
I actually also use aurorafourfox because it's less secure.... intell chiming in in one....two... ;)

I might give TFF another go, I deleted it before because it was so sluggish. Will check latest version avail

Ah, I feared it was Leopard...

Another noob question. Is there a way to make TFF look like Firefox 3.6 (darker metal theme) and have the handy searchbar at the top right and seperated?

Firefox 3 theme
. If it says "Not Available for Firefox X" then click on the Add to Firefox button anyway. You can force an install.

In View>Toolbars>Customize drag the search bar where you want it. To separate it from other items use spaces and dividers.

Yeah it's a real shame. I think it's dead fast, by modern standards even :/

I HATH BEEN SUMMONED BY THY NAME. *Puts cheese hat on MrPilot* Yes, AuroraFourfox is now horribly outdated and its continued use is a massive security flaw. It would be extremely wise to disconnected using it.
