They elected a demagogue and I don't think they have hurt enough yet. Let the USA go full handmaidens tale, will be fun to then watch it break into a bunch of independent states.

My favorite part of this thread is people calling right wing news propaganda without admitting left wing news is also propaganda. It’s all designed to assign you opinions you would otherwise not come to on your own.
Bothsidesism isn't an argument. Because the two sides are not the same. The vast majority of people on the right consume the same new sources (Fox News, Newsmax, OAN) and those source are heavily biased propaganda.

On the left, news sources are more varied, with the most popular being center or center left and fact based.

Perhaps you need a little exposure to just how the left views the mainstream media: they get extremely upset because in their view the media don’t take a side. They despise the New York Times. Personally I agree with them (I am centrist) that the Times bends over backwards to avoid sharing an opinion outside of their opinion pages.

The situation is more than a little different with Fox News, which is a regular source of staff for the Trump regime and blares the regime’s spin almost constantly. I’ve tried their website, and they are just shameless about being the American version of Tass.

Listen, I don't think anyone thought $4000+ iphone was a possibility.
I did, 100%. That's what Tariffs do. Every economic professionals told Trump it would raise prices and hurt the consumer, he doesn't care. I'm sure he singled out Apple (amongst other companies) that didn't go along with his anti DEI BS. I'm also sure all the people who will be worse under his rule will still bend over and love him. Open your eyes!!! Trump is horrible.

You’re regurgitating propaganda.

Why are Home Depot and Target keeping their prices down despite what economists and the “news” said would happen?

Lol. No, I’m reporting what I have witnessed. I’m on Bluesky, and everyday I see how the people there react to news stories. I subscribe to the NYTimes. And like I said my opinion of Fox is based upon my personal experience of their website. Besides, Fox knowingly lied to their audience, to the tune of $785 million worth of settlement for their coverage of the 2020 election.

If Trump somehow manages to implement those tariffs (via Congress or not), mid-term elections will be a done deal for Democrats. No wonder they're just sitting back and waiting it out.

One wonders why we even have lower courts since a certain somebody doesn't seem to like them or accept their rulings. Just have the SCOTUS and DOGE all the lower courts.
Perhaps that’s the point of recent congressional moves against the lower courts; I seem to recall that the district courts originated in Congress. 🤷‍♂️

I know, right? It’s almost as if the other guy ignored SCOTUS and used taxpayers money to pay off student loans when he was ordered not to. Why have lower or higher courts when nobody listens to what they’re told anyways

If you complain about the one, then you’re obliged to complain about the other. So does this mean you too object to the Trump regime’s shocking contempt for the courts and the rule of law?

(Psst…I thought the loan forgiveness was outrageous)

what’s the point of having an upper and lower court, considering one ignores the higher while the other ignores the lower? Two wings on the same bird that doesn’t fly for anyone else but themselves

One thing I missed when I first looked at this, the President can declare an emergency then do what Trump is doing. If Congress doesn’t like it, they only need a Joint Resolution to kill it.

If it is so bad, why doesn’t Rand Paul drum up some support and do just that?

Well the Appeals court just ruined everything. You know this stuff really pisses me off. First off there is no sane valid logical reason for these idiotic tariffs. Every single person who even understands how the economy works says its the dumbest idea and there is no math that supports companies returning manufacturing things here in the US.

Its like trump is a toddler who learned a new word and just says it over and over and over without even truly understanding what it means.

Part of G. Washington's farewell address

" However [political parties] may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government, destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion. "

FAREWELL ADDRESS | SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 1796
