This game was and is a technical and artistic achievement that greatly respects the source material. Only problem for me was that in a home theatre environment late at night it was just persistent dread and chronic stress. Fine for many people but I can think of better ways to entertain myself than changing my underwear every twenty minutes.
Had the same problem and I ended up playing it only when my mum was at home. I was 25.

I wonder how long this game stays available until apple changes some API and it breaks. Thats what happened to almost all Big Mac/iPad games I’ve bought and I’m tired of it.

Until apple guarantees that software released for the platform will continue to be supported on the platform (like on a game console), buying games like that is just sad.

Expecting developers to keep updating their games for years just doesn’t work. This isn’t SAAS.

That being said, it’s a great game.

Does it work on M1 Macs?

I have it on Steam but without the DLCs and it's never going to be updated for Apple Silicon. The version on the Mac App Store is also the old x86 version.

I have not played this game yet on any platform. Was debating getting this for the switch lite but its over double the price.

Would you guys recommend this for my mini? Or just get it for the switch lite?

Subnautica gave me that feeling for 20 hours. That game was insane.

Amazing. More stuff like this should be done for gaming on the Apple ecosystem and not the disappointing Apple Arcade.
Having Apple such big user base and powerful hardware I just don’t understand how it is not more appealing for developers.
I actually like a lot of the Apple Arcade games. I prefer those types of games on my phone and use a console for traditional gaming

PS5 only supports ps4 and ps5 games and you can’t play any games on Nintendo switch from older Nintendo systems unless it’s been ported over and then you have to rebuy them. Even Xbox with its push for backward compatibility doesn’t have support for every original Xbox game. It’s on developers to make sure their games run on newer devices.

Are there OG Xbox (disc) games that don’t work on the Series X?

Yes there are they just recently announced a bunch of games that have recently been made backwards compatible. However games from OG Xbox aren’t automatically working. Microsoft has to put work into making each title work for the new system

My GOTG, still think about it to this day. Loved every moment of it and I regret not buying it day one.

It is weird I know they announced more games, but I always understood that to be games they are allowing you to buy again on the store.

Stop making excuses. Apple Silicon developement kits were out for a long time. Feral would have had ample oppertunity to port their games over to AS but they didn't. They focused on iOS instead. Therefore my point about macOS gaming stands.
Oh dont get me wrong, I brought up the samething in the AAA gaming thread @senttoschool made. I even used MrMacRights video because he specifically asked if they were going to make a native version and they said no.

I was just saying there is a macOS version, it just isn’t native.

I don't think it's comparable.

The same iPad with a new os is different from new generationconsole.

It would be like a PS 4 games not working when you update the PS4 os.

All iPhone and iPad versions run using dynamic resolution so you aren’t getting native rez on those devices either, unless I misunderstood Mr MacRight YT video.

I stand somewhat corrected at least the iPhone 13 Pro is running at native resolution @30fps.

So I really want to play this game but I am afraid it will just be too scary for me. Can anyone who has played it confirm how scary it is? I usually enjoy scary movies for the story but cannot enjoy jump scares as I find them cheap and annoying and also dread the anticipation of a jump scare.

These are the AAA type games we should be getting on Apple Arcade or the app store in general, but what types of games do we get? 2D games and candy crush. The iPhone is capable now of outputting some great visuals but most games are just crap.

You've got a choice: keep an older version of the OS running on your hardware that guarantees your older games will still run OR update to a newer version of the OS and get access to newer games that aren't available on the older OS.

Expecting Apple or 3rd party developers to maintain games indefinitely regardless of the OS being used is not really a thing. It's completely unrealistic financially.
