I wonder what type of red Samsung will use in their Farrari?

The new Samsung Farrari S1 Galaxy Red

Been waiting for them to finally integrate iOS devices into their cars, now I can finally purchase :D

EDIT: Just watched the intro vid, scratch everything I said, if I had that engine behind me, I wouldn't want to listen to anything else!

You wouldn't be able to anyway. It has no speakers, no radio, no nothing.

If you own a Ferrari I'm quit sure you can put a new iPad in every year or so.
Just have your full-time mechanic do it.

Only if the form factor and the connectors stay the same.

But I feel that Ferrari lowered their standards by incorporating tech from another company.

Ferrari have sunk a long way with their tacky merchandising, this is raising their standards a lot.

That car HAS a back seat???

Maybe a 3-year old can enjoy those Minis...well smacking them anyway. :D

I can't imagine enough leg room for anyone else. How about a Mini with a custom app to control the stereo and other features? Although I think a lack of touch feedback makes that more dangerous than dials/buttons, especially with over 900 horsepower.

Won't be long before Samsung partners with Lamborghini to put Galaxy Tabs in the seats.

great news for the 0.1% of the world that would ever consider getting a ferrari...

However I would love to see Apple start integrating better into a bunch of major car companies. Ferrari might be a good first step. I think another company that Apple should partner with ASAP is Tesla. Their DNA is extremely similar

That 0.1% is actually a very high number, I'd probably add at least four to six 0's before the 1.

Soooooo...... the hiring of this ex Apple executive by Ferrari, was it pushed by Apple so they could get their products into Ferrari's, or was it pushed by Ferrari because THEY wanted Apple products in their cars? It's going to be one or the other I would think.
Let's hope it's Ferrari wanting Apple kit, otherwise it's a bit bullying in the market place by Apple, not that they don't do that anyway.

Still, I think iPads in the rear headrests make good sense in cars, certainly a hell of a lot more then sticking one in the dash just to be another distraction to the driver.
It would be far better for the driver if Ferrari and Apple could work on a safe to use simple system, I think voice control is great for instance, that's the route Ford have taken.

On a side note, Le Ferrari, seriously do not know what to make of that one? It just looks... odd? Still if your after a million squid hyper car at least you now have a choice!!!:eek:

What a windfall for Ferrari. They can now sell to all those people who would have bought a hypercar if only it had an iPad in it.

Pretty sad day when an iPod is better looking than a Ferrari. What happened to the classics like the GTO and the Dino? This one looks like a kit car from the 1980's.

Hundreds of thousands of web developers, graphic designers, video editors, photographers and assorted design professionals wait 4 years for an updated Mac Pro, yet Apple finds the time to integrate iPad minis into a car that will be driven by 200 Saudi Princes, West Coast rappers, Euro-trash soccer players and lottery winners.

IMHO, Apple continues to squander its inheritance and is in danger of becoming just another shallow, disposable brand that used to be cool (see Facebook).

Really Apple?

How about focusing on your real bread and butter customers.

/Agreed.

I don't know what sort of impact if any this will have on Apple. But I feel that Ferrari lowered their standards by incorporating tech from another company. I don't care if it is one of the most renowned companies in the world... it still devalues the Ferrari it is installed in. I could see perhaps using iPad retina display technology for the clarity and touchscreen... but not running iOS or anything similar. Shame on you Ferrari... shame. :(

What??? Do you have any idea how many car company's work with technology company's these day's? Bang And Olufsen, Bowers And Wilkins, Microsoft, Android, Apple, Sony, Bose.... they are all involved with the motor industry as they are the best solution to developing systems specific for the driver.

And as for Ferrari's own solution, from what I've seen it's pretty dreadful to use the st nav etc. They could do with some Apple help.

In fact, in car infotainment systems is a market Apple MUST be a part of because it is getting bigger and bigger and bigger..... they would be very wise to take a piece of the pie and it will help them to grow. How is that a bad thing and devaluing Ferrari? Are you going to be a badge snob and not buy a Ferrari because it has an Apple infotainment system??

Actually what Ferrari should be doing is removing all the computer rubbish making anyone drive like Schumacher and concentrate on the infotainment tech instead. I have seen far too many reviews of Ferrari's these day's rubbish them due to the amount of computers they have driving the car for you, NOT like they used to be, like the F40 with no driver aids at all and many people love it for that. That is where it should be shame on you Ferrari.

If they'd put them in when i bought mine i would have insisted the dealer remove it.

You dont buy a ferrari full of junk taking up space. Trust me!

Wait, does this say for the 'rear-seat' passengers?
Guess that means operating the mini with you nose..

I was looking for the back seats, still didn't see them.

Who is their right mind is going to be watching some video while zipping down the Autobahn at 200 KPH ?

Can anyone over the age of 7 fit into the back of this car? And no one in their right mind would put a sticky finger, ice cream eating, nose picking seven year old in a Ferrari! :p

Jesus MF Christ - I can't really understand how reading comprehension on this board has deteriorated so much.

Read the article, fellows. The iPad is mounted on the back of the Frontseat so passengers in the Backseat of the Ferrari FF.

The Ferrari FF is a full-blown family car. Now...just for a second...take a deep breath and be astounded

The Ferrari FF also has a full blown luggage space! *shock*

Seriously...get some reading comprehension before posting guys.

The FF is also now seamlessly integrated with Apple technologies, thanks to direct access to the infotainment system via SIRI voice commands and the adoption of two iPad Minis as the entertainment system of choice for the rear seat passengers.
...

In case there's any room for any rear seat passengers...

Cool down, it's not good for blood pressure! ;)

I think we pretty much all agree that no matter how you put it, Ferrari has never been and will never be a "full-blown family car"... At least, I hope so!
