A bold statement is saying your wait time is 4-6 weeks in your OP and then claiming it has nothing to do with your decision. If it didn't have anything to do with your decision, you wouldn't have said it at all.

Also, when you ordered the phone, you had the decision between the 6 or 6+. You went with the 6+ and typically speaking, a person's first decision is usually the correct one.

You know damn well that you don't want to wait the 4-6 weeks for the + so you're just getting the 6 to get one sooner. Not to mention you only made this topic for reassurance. Everyone knows you're in denial. But you don't have to worry about convincing anyone else. You should worry more about convincing yourself.

I have both coming.

I have a 6 arriving on the 19th (release day). I have a 6+ estimated between October 1-6. Hopefully, the 6+ arrives before my fourteen days are up and I can try both out.

If it doesn't, most likely take my chances with the six +. I'm pretty set on that one.

WOW

how long did it take you to analyze my initial 3 sentence thread starter and then type all of that up? lots of BOLD statements for someone who doesnt even know me!

People have way too much time on their hands to chastise and critique someone for their choice.

I simply started this thread for input/ thoughts

Why are you even speaking and taking up precious post space on this site if what you are talking about has NOTHING to do with the topic at hand?

But you will learn once your on here a little longer than the couple days/ weeks you've been here.

Troll work at its finest!

I will return one, most likely, yes. Not looking to make a profit, as that kind of thing rubs me the wrong way.

One would think all they needed to do is go to a retailer and play around with the Note. That is what I did but to tell the truth after I got the Note 3 I ended up selling it after two months.

A large part of the decision is one's usage. You anticipate phablet use or primarily a smartphone for calls and text with light phablet duty? If the latter, just get the 6.

Hope there are THOUSANDS more like you so I get my Plus on launch day and not the Oct 1-6 window they gave me
OP was already at 4-6 weeks so him cancelling wouldn't really affect your Oct 1-6 (7-10 days) window. Those who have deliver by 9/19 are probably more likely to return the 6+ to Apple if they find it too big or ebay it for at least $1,200.

is your contract up or you paid the full upgrade fee?

There's differences, but some people can and will live without them.

The OIS is a major difference, but not everyone needs it. The screen size oh well just a .8" difference. The 1080p display is a pretty big difference, but a lot of people could care less.

At first I was leaning 5.5", then I started leaning to the 4.7" and I believe that's where I'll stay at. The 5.5" is HUGE. No matter how many people wanna say it's not that big and all that... It's huge. Its a little bigger then the Note 3 and that phone is huge too.

Point being it doesn't matter which phone someone chooses... They'll be happy with either one. They are both great devices.

This same crap happened last year with the 5s and 5c. People acted like someone was lesser because they chose the 5c. Well his year the differences are very minimal compared to the 5s and 5c. Most people are considering it to be two
Flagship devices and not one of them as "mid-tiered." Mostly because neither is mid-tiered.

to each his own right??

I don't get why people gotta come in here and try and bash someone.

appreciate it

One thing that is most certain is no matter how big these smartphones get, still better than holding up a boom box to one's ear. :)

As far as 1080p? I have a Moto X and would not know what I am missing considering its size.

Didn't have to make the switch. I knew from the start that the 6+ was just too big.

You've made the correct choice :)

Do you know what Apples return policy is? I mean, can you take it out and use it for a while and still return?

Yes. I have done so first hand, 14 days no questions asked....as long as you don't go and break the phone or something.

14 days return and yes. It's the reason I ordered from Apple instead of carrier. No restocking fee.

I'm strongly leaning on the 6, but will wait for launch day. Haven't pre-ordered anything, because I don't care to be the first.

I think tech should disappear into you, not make its presence known constantly. The 6 still manages this, the 6+, much less so.

plus is big. but its a longer battery life, and 1080p screen.

That was the tipping point for me.

I just made the switch. I went back and forth all day yesterday but decided to go with the 6.

My wait time was 4-6 weeks for the plus and i just thought it was way too big.

Anyone else make this switch like I did ?

And holding it at a store is just that, holding it at a store. Carry it around and do your normal deal like you did with your older phone and many are going to get frustrated and return it. For people who aren't that mobile it will be fine. Mobile people, well it's going to present lots of issues. A cardboard cut out isn't the phone. The cardboard doesn't weigh 6 ounces, the cardboard doesn't have a case (which will make the phone weigh more). You'd know with an exact copy of the plus, 6 ounces, plus a case, then carry it around for awhile. Disappointment beckons.

I would like the extra battery out of the additional options but I honestly think in the real world the battery life between both phones isn't going to be as substantial as Apple lists it out to be. More screen = more power required.
The 1080p at these screen sizes is marketing more than anything else. On my 5, vids are crisp, and clean, never, ever, had a complaint. I could care less about the camera. I surf, listen to music, text sometimes, talk on the phone, and control my entire house with the phone. If I want to do real browsing or video playback outside of work I want a 10" screen or above. I'd happily trade my iPad Air for a 13" version in a heartbeat.

My 5 was an increase in size over my 4 and IMO, the perfect size between surfing and portability. It's never a burden to holster, to put it in a pocket, cup holder in the car, etc. I'm actually concerned a little over the size of the 6. I think it will be my upper tolerance of a cellphone for daily carry. I picked up a 4 recently (coworker's phone) and kind of missed the size. I think more than anything Apple needs to work on the bezels. They are got damn massive on that 6+ And a deal breaker. I think a 5" screen is the max I would ever sign on for.
This is more of a cellphone (portable, edc, transportable) to me that's smart. I don't want a mini tablet that doubles as a phone. It's just too large in a pocket, looks like straight dork ville on a belt holster, and is just generally too cumbersome to take everywhere. Would be great as a second phone if you also have something smaller to tote when you are busy moving around your city, activities, work, leisure, etc.
