to each his own right??

I don't get why people gotta come in here and try and bash someone.

appreciate it

Yeah I don't understand people. I'll tell you I'm getting the 4.7" iPhone 6. I have no want or need for a 5.5" phone. I never wanted the Note so I'm not going to change now because Apple decides 5.5" is cool now. I'd rather have a 5s with 4.3" and I'd be happy.

One thing that is most certain is no matter how big these smartphones get, still better than holding up a boom box to one's ear. :)

As far as 1080p? I have a Moto X and would not know what I am missing considering its size.

Lol very very true. As far as the Moto X goes I really like the 2014 edition of the X and the G.

And holding it at a store is just that, holding it at a store. Carry it around and do your normal deal like you did with your older phone and many are going to get frustrated and return it. For people who aren't that mobile it will be fine. Mobile people, well it's going to present lots of issues. A cardboard cut out isn't the phone. The cardboard doesn't weigh 6 ounces, the cardboard doesn't have a case (which will make the phone weigh more). You'd know with an exact copy of the plus, 6 ounces, plus a case, then carry it around for awhile. Disappointment beckons.

I would like the extra battery out of the additional options but I honestly think in the real world the battery life between both phones isn't going to be as substantial as Apple lists it out to be. More screen = more power required.
The 1080p at these screen sizes is marketing more than anything else. On my 5, vids are crisp, and clean, never, ever, had a complaint. I could care less about the camera. I surf, listen to music, text sometimes, talk on the phone, and control my entire house with the phone. If I want to do real browsing or video playback outside of work I want a 10" screen or above. I'd happily trade my iPad Air for a 13" version in a heartbeat.

My 5 was an increase in size over my 4 and IMO, the perfect size between surfing and portability. It's never a burden to holster, to put it in a pocket, cup holder in the car, etc. I'm actually concerned a little over the size of the 6. I think it will be my upper tolerance of a cellphone for daily carry. I picked up a 4 recently (coworker's phone) and kind of missed the size. I think more than anything Apple needs to work on the bezels. They are got damn massive on that 6+ And a deal breaker. I think a 5" screen is the max I would ever sign on for.
This is more of a cellphone (portable, edc, transportable) to me that's smart. I don't want a mini tablet that doubles as a phone. It's just too large in a pocket, looks like straight dork ville on a belt holster, and is just generally too cumbersome to take everywhere. Would be great as a second phone if you also have something smaller to tote when you are busy moving around your city, activities, work, leisure, etc.

my 5 was perfect to me when it came out. I've had it 2 years ( longest i've had the same phone in a long time.) and i always thought the size was perfect. The 6 will be an upgrade in size and performance so no need to go with the plus IMHO.

The animosity in this thread is really confusing and appalling. The OP made a decision for himself.

B F D

That was what he chose for himself. So what. That's what he wants, so be it.

There was no need to criticize.....ask why, well, maybe. But, regardless, if that is what the OP wants, then the rest of us have no reason to criticize over it.

I went with the 6+ 128gb at 3:10AM. Got charged for it immediately. Then get an email telling me ship date will be between 11/09/14 -11/27/14. Obviously I was severely upset with them. They should have told us upfront that the 6+ would be delayed. BUT, I still would have chosen it because that's the one I want.

After thinking about it for a day, it is probably a good thing. I have time to see what everyone is dealing with before they ship mine. If there are problems, I can back out without issue. So, to paraphrase Martha Stewart: "it's a good thing"!

I just made the switch. I went back and forth all day yesterday but decided to go with the 6.

My wait time was 4-6 weeks for the plus and i just thought it was way too big.

Anyone else make this switch like I did ?

You weren't the first. And won't be the last. Especially when 6 buyers go yo an Apple store and put theirs next to the big one. A lot more exchanges in the horizon.

I hope it wasn't mainly the wait time that made you switch. I figure it's better to wait for the one that you want than to end up feeling like you settled.

I did that last year. The truth is I would take any one of these phones. If I don't get exactly the color I wanted I realized I was still more than happy with my phone. This year I was able to purchase the phone I wanted for 9/19.

Nope, and I find it strange how people would rather get the phone they don't want than to have to wait a couple of extra weeks to get the phone they do want.

Kind of like buying a car color you don't want to save a few bucks. If I'm paying for something, it's going to be what I want and not just to satisfied the moments urge.

I went back and forth for a couple of days and did the whole cardboard cutout thing.

I found that I was trying to convince myself that I would be ok with the plus because I wanted the better battery life and a bigger screen. The more I thought about it, the more I realized that I wasn't comfortable with the plus....besides, I'm coming from a 4s and have never had a large phone.

I think I'm in this group now also... ImageUploadedByTapatalk1410636815.457476.jpg

i know right!

i made this thread because i figured there would be an abundance of people in the same dilemma as me and vice versa! 6 plus to 6 / 6 to 6 plus before launch

some people have too much time on their hands

I have both on order.

iPhone 6 128GB for delivery on release day.
iPhone 6Plus 128GB for delivery around 30th Sept.

I was set for the iPhone 6, but now Im leaning towards the 6+.
As long as it fits into my pocket OK, I'll be keeping the 6+ as I use it more for watching movies, Internet, and email etc then I do as a phone.

is your contract up or you paid the full upgrade fee?

i did the same with a galaxy and watched various videos.

this video was very informative. short and to the point too.

Not understanding why videos are being made of the iPhone 6 plus fitting in a pocket. Does no one else know about the Note with a 5.7" screen? Has been widely adopted and accepted for its size already? Lol

Silly idiots (video creators of this redundant topic).

Why do people feel the need to make this into a competition (6 vs 6+)? Who cares what someone else decided to purchase? People need to get over themselves.

I was preaching this same thing last year with the 5s and 5c. This year it's different as the phones are way more similar and it's still happening

got the 6 bc felt the 6plus was too big, went to verizon today played with some 5.5in phones and whewww glad i made the right choice. Anything over 5 is too damn big. It's a cell phone not a freakin tablet.

Everyone knew there would be a frenzy, Ive never had anything other than an iphone so these videos were most helpful in determining what form factor/ size would suit me best.

A bold statement is saying your wait time is 4-6 weeks in your OP and then claiming it has nothing to do with your decision. If it didn't have anything to do with your decision, you wouldn't have said it at all.

Also, when you ordered the phone, you had the decision between the 6 or 6+. You went with the 6+ and typically speaking, a person's first decision is usually the correct one.

You know damn well that you don't want to wait the 4-6 weeks for the + so you're just getting the 6 to get one sooner. Not to mention you only made this topic for reassurance. Everyone knows you're in denial. But you don't have to worry about convincing anyone else. You should worry more about convincing yourself.

100% correct

Nope, and I find it strange how people would rather get the phone they don't want than to have to wait a couple of extra weeks to get the phone they do want.

And I find it strange that people would rather get the size they don't want for the better specs than get the size they do want.

This shortsightedness is exactly why we'll see plenty of buyer's remorse.

Right. I searched Youtube videos of the Note 3 in pockets to get an idea of how the 6+ will fit.

The issue is the specs are what drive the buyers purchase, so size isn't everything. It can be said buyer's remorse could kick in if people got the size they wanted, but not the better specs and the iPad/landscape mode.

Though wait till the iPhone 6S, maybe those plus features will be put back into it, which I will not be too happy as I would get the Plus just for the camera's optical image stabilization.
