FINALLY got a preorder thru apple.com

I've been trying since 6:30am here in AZ. Finally got through a few minutes ago. It took much repetition -- but I noticed I started getting farther into the process in the last 10 minutes, so either people are giving up or their systems have gotten a chance to breathe.

Got mine!! Finally!! 32GB shipped... although I'd rather have it shipped to work instead of home, but oh well...
 
I finally got through. I popped in throughout the day thinking the system was down, but it's just overloaded. I didn't want to do this all night, so I just buckled down and used brute force with multiple windows/browsers.
 
Looks like things are starting to get better. After about 10 hours of trying my last attempt went through with no issues. Is it June 24th yet??? :D
 
Can't order still but I did get a call from Apple

I'm so jealous! It's going on 9 hours for me. I sent an email to Steve Jobs about this epic failure. Few hours later, I get a call from someone at Apple. They could have only gotten my work # from that email. Of course, after the guy dropped Steve's name, I now can't remember what position this guy holds, or how exactly he got my number.

He wanted to find out if I had been successful (no) and how far I got in the system (eligibility check). He gave me his #, let me know they are working on the problem, and asked if I wanted him to call me with any updates (um, yes please).

I'm still frustrated beyond all belief but now at least I won't give up.

That's funny about the telephone call. I actually sent an email to Stephenson at AT&T basically stating I was unhappy with how this had been handled. Short and no reference to my account number or cellular number. Got a call back a few hours later from someone at the office of the president at AT&T asking what my issues were, whether I had any other problems, and apologizing for the problems. I never really expected that.

And, I just completed my pre-order on Apple.com. No email yet but its listed as a pending order under my account.
 
If the iPhone 4 makes it into your cart, I think it helps to go ahead and log in to your Apple Store account, then open your cart and check out.

When I first tried it this morning, I kept trying to click on Check Out from the cart on the front Apple Store page. It would then ask for my account ID and password and, of course, time out.

I probably just got lucky, but after logging into my account first, I was able to check out around 9:15am.
 
finally got through as well. so many times i picked the sms plan and then got an error, it's more irritating when you get that far and crash. early on, i wouldn't even get past the eligibility screen. oh well, set my countdown widget to june 24 and wait.
 
Did anyone who got their order through start a new plan?

Maybe that is why mine isn't working yet? :/
 
Did any of you keep getting brought to the reservation page after clearly trying to pre-order? That's happened to me that last 3 times I've tried.

Keep trying, not trying to gloat, but I just got through again on apple.com for my wife's phone (32 GB Black, 3:43 PM CDT). Servers are definitely getting better and you're not far from success!

Yes, but eventually where it says "There is an error BLAH BLAH BLAH..." it says "Add to cart." Just keep trying!
 
I just did, too, after trying all day. For delivery. Haven't gotten a confirmation email yet, though. I may be counting my chickens...

I don't know if it's coincidence, but previously I wasn't signing in, but once I did, after maybe the 3rd try, I got it.

No confirmation e-mails for either of my orders yet either...keeping my fingers crossed...
 
I've gotten to the page where it just shows the picture of the phone and click continue three times. It takes me back the processing info screen and then it errors. I'm getting really pissed.

I just got through on my iPad for instore preorder, but it never asked me to sign in to my apple/itunes account...

I got the We'll see you at the store message at the end, but is this a bad sign, that I have no email connected to it and tehrefore won't be receiving an email from them regarding it.
 
Ok. I was able to get one black 32GB iPhone 4 into my cart. Now working on my wife's phone. No luck after first try. This sucks.
