It has nothing to do with patience and everything to do with principle.

If your company can't do something, don't blatantly advertise that you can.

Marketing 101.

It has everything to do with patience and nothing to do with principle. I knew when getting my 3GS I wouldnt get MMS until late summer.
September 22nd is the end of summer.
If no MMS on september 23rd, then you can be pissed.

I'm still curious as to what preparations AT&T needed to make to launch MMS... Surely, something what is the real story? The technology has been there and just blocked for iPhone?

I remember the initial iPhone launch we were reading the materials and we were all shocked that it didn't support MMS, surely it has to be an issue of bandwidth and AT&T being stretched to the limit, but how is that possible?

Where do I sign up?

Apple advertised/said/promised/stated in print/internet/mailers/keynotes that 3.0 and the iPhone would allow users to send MMS.

Regardless of what the fanboys say, people purchased the iPhone for the MMS. I personally know people that were holding out years for MMS.

Apple isn't your service provider

the iPhone is MMS capable. No lie

ATT and Apple stated clearly that MMS was not available yet in the US and WOULD BE late summer.

No lie (yet)

So there ya go

EVENTUALLY AS IN LATE SUMMER OF 2009!
SUMMER ENDS SEPTEMBER 22ND

THEN THEY CAN WAIT 1 MORE MONTH.

And why is ANYONE that disagrees with a poster automatically a FANBOY

It's laughable and a cop out.

People don't agree with you. Get over it. It doesn't mean anyone is a FANBOY

Several pundits stated that the economy would be fixed by the end of 2010. They keep saying it. I know it's not the end of 2010 yet - but I say we file a class action lawsuit against all of the pundits!!!

It was clearly stated in the keynote that MMS wouldn't be available on AT&T until late summer. That's why there were resounding boo's from the audience. Sucky? Yes. But was it clearly stated? Yes.

The only communication laws I can think of that would even hold this case up in a room on fire are the ones dictating that no one service may offer a feature that other services can't.

This is no way means that every service has to offer every features just that they have the power to do so if they chose.

Also ever since I lost MMS I honestly don't give a **** weather we get it or not because its just not that atractive of a feature. If I want to show people an image I post it to Flickr and text the tiny url link. If some of the people I know don't have a data plan then they probubly can't receive picture messages anyway and I will just have to actually meet them face to face to talk about the photo rather than running up their phone bill.

The only time I missed the feature was when this girl wanted a text of my junk (im 20 she is 19) and I had to use an online service to send her that pic. and while yes its just a picture of my cock the fact I used a camera at home made it come out in much better quality than a camera on my phone. So Why would I use the iPhone camera to send people pictures of my balls if its easier and better to do it from home (infact its free to do from home).

In-short I hope this lawsuit fails unless it can be used to force ATT to allow teathering cause quite frankly the only use I can find for MMS is sending people pictures of my balls which I will have to wait till (or beyond) September 22nd.

SORRY YOU HAVE TO WAIT TO SEND PICS OF YOUR BALLS SO SUE ME.

HA! Awesome:)

if you go back and watch the keynote from MacWorld they clearly state the the iPhone with os 3.0 will have MMS capabilities. they said noting about AT&T not supporting MMS in the US then. it wasnt until WWDC we were told that AT&T wouldnt support it until later this summer. yes, the orginal wording was LATER THIS SUMMER. Apples website after MacWorld talking about os 3.0 (prior to WWDC) said nothing about AT&T not supporting mMS until after WWDC. while i dont think this case will fly apple/at&t did adverstise, for a few months anyway, that the iphone 3g (3gs not released or heard of yet except for rumors on here) would have MMS.

The thing is, if this was the first or second time Apple and/or AT&T had dropped the ball, people probably wouldn't be so worked up. Or at least not so many of them. But it's happened so many times that, personally, I'm fully expecting one or the other or both to screw this up as surely as they've screwed up everything else important over the past two years. iPhone launches? Well we all saw first hand what a cluster**** they turned out to be, the second one being the worst because they KNEW what was coming. Cut/copy/paste? No one needs that on a phone, right? More bars everywhere? Perhaps, if Everywhere is the name of a town with a dozen or so cell towers. Orb and MLB work over 3G but not Slingplayer? At least not in the US?? The list goes on and on and on. For two companies so sure they have all the answers that they have no problem forcing their dogma down our throats, they sure are clueless. MMS isn't the issue, it's the last straw.
