These iOS 7 designed apps are really starting to grow on me! The skuemorphic apps of the past looked neat, but parhaps the looks-like-the-analog-thing was limiting the design and function.

I'm hereby a fan!

Notify

Actually... it's not a new feature. Several months ago I would often pick up my ex from work. Due to traffic and because of my exes strange work schedule, I didn't always have a chance to call when I arrived nor could they answer. So I just turn this on so that hit would auto notify my ex when I arrived at his work.

Yes that would be a new feature, I do not recall ever being able to choose to notify followers when I arrived/left, they would have to do that themselves on their app.

no one i know wants to be added  i wonder why ... ;)

you use find my friends to locate your wife? seriously? is this the middle east of the future?
Yeah, there's just complete lack of non-nefarious situations/reasons as to why spouses and/or family members would want to share locations with each other.

I love this app, but I really wish they would add a default radius size for the geofencing. In my experience the address Apple maps believe something is can be slightly off and miss the target for the geofence.

In the mean time I just increase the radius with that handy dandy slide feature.

The other person

The other person can set that up to notify you of their comings and goings...

Now if they will just add the function to notify you when the other person has arrived or left a certain location repeatedly, and not just a once time thing. I don't want to have to setup the notify me everyday for the same arrival and departure location.

This app needs just one more thing to be perfect for me: Integration with Siri to ask "when will my wife be home?". I can see her on the map and guess based on location, but with traffic and whatnot, it's not super accurate. Apple has all the information to do that already. It knows where she is and how long it would take her to reach the home address while factoring in traffic. Someone just needs to put it all together.

This just screams creepy to me...

Glad to see the UI was finally updated, thought it looked really ugly, especially surrounded by iOS 7 design.

To everyone who says this is creepy, my family uses this app very frequently, everyone is really happy to have it.

I know its not quite the same, but you can ask her where your wife is

I Agree. Over-share

Good, this should cut down on the number of people on Facebook who think everyone needs to know when they "check in" to their apartment.

I agree [though FourSquare is probably the go-to app for check-ins), using apps like this (Find My Friends), and Foursquare, Instagram, etc. can be a good way to overshare to specific people who 'opt in' to your specific sharing, be that location, Photos, check-ins, etc.

I check in using foursquare, share Photos, and sharing my location, but I'm very selective about what goes to Facebook, where my FB friends are a more broad group of people/family, etc.

This may be a dumb question but can anyone change the map type? Mine is on satellite view and I can't find where to change it to a normal map.

I think it's funny how most people simply default to (or knee jerk reaction) is that this is "creppy" or "i don't want my gf/bf to follow me", without thinking twice about the possible purpose of application like this.

In my case, I work 100 miles away, I spend one and half hours on the high way every day (one way). This app gives my wife a peace of mind knowing that I'm on my way back or still "moving", and was not one of the 19 cars that was involved in the accident last week which resulted in two death.

Laugh all you want, but I think it's sad people are no longer able to think in other people's situation.

Main Apps!

See my main concern here isn't updating those apps though; my concern is there being a fluid functionality between OS X and iOS... there are so many features now that seems to be sporadic between devices...for example:

Calendar (travel time?)
Messages (OS X - Different Colors?)
OS X Not having GUI updates?

I mean I understand running behind and what not; but this is just plainly underbaked to me...

Another thing, UP NEXT on the music App??? I mean some seriously needed features!

One of my favorite features in Find My iPhone (not Find My Friends) is Play Sound. iOS 7 took away ability to enable Find My iPhone on non-primary iCloud account.

I am hoping Apple will introduce Play Sound as an opt-in feature on Find My Friends, where request recipients would explicitly allow their phone to ring for particular set of friends.
