FineWoven won't stand up to oil and dirt

I’m sure it will hold up as well if not better than the leather because it’s plastic. It is probably also lighter than the leather case which in my book would be a win. Same level of protection only lighter. I guess the video proved me wrong. Shame on Apple.

Leather is actually extremely durable, this is why they used to make armour out of it, and why motorcyclists use it for protection against throwing themselves down the racetrack at 300 km/h plus.

It scuffs, sure but it maintains its structural integrity under fairly severe abuse. Plastic and other synthetics… do not.

I have a pair of crashed sports bike gloves where the polyurethane knuckles have been ground down from road rash… the leather immediately adjacent though is lightly scuffed. Leather is a pretty amazing material.

The guy who showed the case destruction has never once posted a sponsored video. Just because you don't like his findings, doesn't make it invalid.

And just because you like the fact he's never taken sponsorship doesn't make his "findings" valid.

I got my iPhone 15 Pro cases today. I have mixed fillings about FineWoven. I really like how it feels. However, I don’t like how dirty it will get. There was already a noticeable smudges on both of them before fulled removed from the packaging. This can be seen in the photos below. I’m not reckless with my phone, but I’m defiantly not delicate with it. It gets tossed in bags, lost in bedding, shoved in pockets, dropped on the floor with a house full of dogs, occasionally handed to a toddler, and has it's fair share of outdoor camping adventures. Using the FineWoven case will make my phone will look very aged after a short month of use. Also, the FineWoven Evergreen color is 2-3 shades darker than expected. It's almost black looking at certain angles. The Silicone Cypress is what I would call Everygreen. That's a perfect shade of green! Both the FineWoven Pacific Blue and Silicone Storm Blue are spot on. I absolutely love both the blue colors. I decided that I am going to return the FineWoven cases and stick with my long-time loved Apple Silicone case. I just wish there were more color options. I’d really love a darker orange/pumpkin color this time of year. I know there are available from 3rd parties, but the Apple Silicone has always felt different/better than others.

Maybe all the other comments about profit margins, etc are also true but their stated reason was to move to a more carbon neutral product.

It's not going to be carbon neutral with all the returns shipped back to them due to poor quality.

I was going to hit mine with this waterproof protectant that I use on all my shoes. Keeps my AJ1s fresh, so it should work for this case, too.
