After reading through 5 of the 4773847 pages of comments (made up of 70% trolling and 30% genuine goodness), I couldn't locate anyone that had done a vigorous test with running or some other form of body shaming exercise. Yes, I can't be arsed reading through the hate and love as it irks me greatly so, in closing, how do these suckers go when it comes to running etc? Very interested in reading about it (even with a video someone else posted last week of a guy doing a small run up and down a ramp shaking his head in some demented fashion with them not falling out).

Gotta feel sorry for the people that spent $1500+ on computer and $160 on AirPods and have to pay even more for the two things to match. So sad....

I hear ya bro, life's a *itch... likely those same people have not a single USB A wall charger in the house. While most of the rest of the world probably has a half dozen (likely more) rattling around in kitchen drawers for years.

AirPods just need power to charge - there's nothing to "match" over the cable.

I sure did buy them! I am impressed with them so far.

Yes, I am enjoying Sydney, thanks. You can't go wrong holidaying in Oz. After the Middle East, it's nice to tuck into a few pulled pork burgers, down a few gallons of craft ale and be free to mention Christmas without causing offence!

That's because you are in Abu Dhabi... Dubai mall's have got in to Christmas spirit in a big way....

Coming from someone who's got an iPhone, MacBook Pro, iPad, Apple Watch, Apple TV, and Apple Time Capsule, This is one product I can't get around to liking. It looks ridiculous to me. If it were black and a bit more discrete, I wouldn't mind it so much.

A person that thinks that an Apple Watch is in good taste has no right to say such a thing. :)

Ooh well done! What time were you there, any abnormal queues? I'm guessing not if you just walked in at midday and nabbed some.

Mine should be appearing within the next 28 minutes if my DPD driver is on schedule.

Wanted to hear how loud they are - outside my ears.

So I tricked them to think they are still in my ears by covering one of the 2 small holes on the side.

They kept playing when I took them out of my ears.

Then when I uncovered the holes the music stopped playing.

Perfect for skipping unwanted commercials.

Glad that's working well for you.

I hate hate hate the old ear-buds - they fall out at the slightest movement - completely useless design.... These are the same shape, will fall out get lost and cause trauma..... terrible Apple design you'll see...
You may be surprised to learn this, but not every human has the ear shape that you have. My EarPods are incredibly comfortable and only fall out because of the blasted cord pulling them out.

Sure, Abu Dhabi's malls have too - everywhere. But I am talking about etiquette with Emiratis, particularly high ranking and/or traditional in outlook. It is a minefield of being careful what you say. Trees in malls are neither here nor there at the end of the day.

I walked in at 11:55, there was no queues and when I asked if they got any on stock they said they had 4. But after 3 min when it came from the storage room it appeared to be the very last pair, leaving a customer who asked after me a bit disappointed.

I have the new MacBook and just bought the airpods. I really don't get what the issue is here and why people are whining. I have lots of ways to charge my airpods.

Thank you for your rational post. Sadly, that kind of "problem" solving ability that most of us take for granted is lost on many.

Sadly, people whine on forums because it provides a feeling of power that is otherwise not found in other aspects of their lives. Apparently, that feeling of power wins out over embarrassment that most of us would feel if we were to do the same.

What's the product for then if it isn't primarily the sound? Oh yes, no cables and bland sound. Great.
No cables, auto switching between devices, by all accounts better sound quality than EarPods. And I happen to like the sound of my EarPods already, anyway. Sorry, I'm not an enlightened guru of audio, but, here's a tip, very few people care about sound quality as much as you do. Let them buy the things they want, and there's not really a need to bash them for it. :) have a nice, grumpy day, grumpy pants in chief.

True that...

I live up near Emirates Hills/Marina/JBR area, where even Emirati's feel foreigners themselves... Anyway's Christmas never feels the same as in our home country...

That sounds a lot like make up excuses for Apple. They messed up, big time. Period. In the past, they did make a lot of connector transitions, but never so poorly executed as this one as their latest and greatest were always compatible (encouraging you to upgrade). Not now:

1) They should have included a lighting port on the MacBook Pro so you can use lightning headphones (if they want to create a world without analogue headphones as demonstrated by the iPhone 7 release).

2) Or include wireless headphones with the iPhone (if they believe wired headphones are dead).

3) And they should have switched to USB-C wall chargers so your iPhone 7 cable would fit into the new MacBook and leave USB-A behind. And with the removal of the MagSafe adaptor this would have been the perfect time to finally make MacBook and iOS chargers compatible.

But currently, we are not in a transition phase, we are in a mess of incompatible devices.

They did not do 1 because they were surprised by the backlash on removing the analogue port on the 7. Hence that weird survey asking people if they still use that port on the mac.

They did not do 2 to cash in more money knowing people would pay extra for them. And because their Q-tips were not ready when the 7 was relaxed.

They did not do 3 because... no idea.

Only option three was remotely possible.

Option 1 doesn't make any sense because Apple is quite clear that the future of headphones is wireless and not lightning headphones. If you have their laptop (especially the MB Pro) they expect you to have their wireless headphones. The headphone jack is still there but not really for headphones. There are other professional uses for that port.

Option 2 couldn't be done because the Q-tips as you call them (which is kind of funny) weren't ready in part and because they are massively too expensive to be included in a device that is already pricey compared to competitors.

Option 3 doesn't really make sense because the USB-C port is really great because of its multitude of uses. Just using it for a charger doesn't make too much sense. And considering that less than 5% of iPhone 7 buyers in 2016-2017 will have a MacBook or MacBook Pro in 2016 or 2017 and it would be confusing to the 95% of buyers to include a new cable. And even for that 5% of iPhone users that have the new laptops mainly useful in the use case of traveling and then only to save them from (A) buying a $10 cable or $5 dongle or (B) carrying around another cable and charger. I really doubt there are going to be many users who's office setup isn't going to include a space for a charger or a USB hub that will have USB-A ports. So it is just a travel issue.

Got to my store 5 minutes ago and there were 7 people sitting down. We then started a "formal" line. Excited to see how many they got and I haven't seen any of these people before so that's saying something.

Lets see how this goes. No ones come out yet so I'm assuming they have some.
[doublepost=1482154777][/doublepost]Just checked my tracking and it looks like they just arrived at my local fedex center. I've never had luck with fedex delivering early so I'm not holding my breath. One pair is for me and the other pair is for my sig other. Lets see if fedex surprises me.

Where are you located? Mine still says it's in Memphis.

I got there before my store opened and there was a line. They only had 8 and I was #11.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
