Must admit, these are great. The case is really, really nice - the snap-shut lid is very sexy ;)

Pairing couldn't be simpler, it's very impressive.

The sound quality is good and they go pretty loud. I'll definitely feel slightly self-conscious going out wearing these until they're a bit more common, though ...the 'stem' seems so long! But then again I remember being embarrassed talking on a mobile phone when I first got one of those!!

Loving them

They look absolutely gorgeous (as does pretty much anything Apple designs), but I currently have a pair of PowerBeats2 - I have a feeling that, given these and the PowerBeats3 are in the same price range, I'd choose the PowerBeats.

For me, earphones has to be about sound quality over design - it'd be interesting to get an in-depth comparison between these and the PowerBeats sound-quality wise.

looks like the cheap junk they sell at gas stations. worth every penny i'm sure.
This new earbud is made out of cheap plastic and pretty much looks like that picture which you say is cheap junk they sell at gas stations. But it's made by Apple, so it's magical right?

I am a consumer and without me (the consumer) Apple wouldn't generate profits. Also, with feedback and criticism they make even better products!

I am not going to say this is amazing, the best thing ever just because Apple make it. I have a pair of earpods. They suck sound quality wise! Would I buy a wireless pair? no!

For £159 I want something more than free earpods that are now wireless. They are useless in anything but the most quiet environment, zero noise isolation, not that great sound quality. I don't see the selling point except for those who have to have every Apple product and defend Apple to their death.

Hopefully there will be criticisms, Apple will read these, there will be feedback, Apple will use this to make a better product and maybe version 2 or 3, I maybe tempted. For now, no.

I got these for £39.99

They have a case which chargers the earphones (inspired Apple maybe?). Japanese made balanced armature. Sound pretty awesome, brilliant noise isolation and have a flawless bluetooth connection.

Hope you're enjoying Sydney!
And hope you enjoy your AirPods (if you bought them).

I sure did buy them! I am impressed with them so far.

Yes, I am enjoying Sydney, thanks. You can't go wrong holidaying in Oz. After the Middle East, it's nice to tuck into a few pulled pork burgers, down a few gallons of craft ale and be free to mention Christmas without causing offence!

"Sound is a bit better than the EarPods I received with my iPhone 7 Plus, which I mostly pretty impressed with." OK, so we can officialy say that sound quality sucks, because EarPods sounds like crap.

The Airpods have no problems staying in his ears as he went for a 10km run.

Aren't facts irritating, when they get in the way of haters hating?

What I didn't get was everyone saying "They will just fall out of your ears" for the last few months.

I've never had headphones just fall out of my ears, even with a cable weighing them down. The only times they have come out during use is when I have snagged the cable on something, a problem that these things won't have.

Ahh no.
One anecdotal comment does not cover a sweeping proclamation such as you are claiming.

Why are people so quick too criticise the sound quality and fit. These idiots don't even own a set but they consider themselves to be experts on the product. Don't knock it until you try it. The Airpods are way better than I expected. The sound quality is good and i haven't had to adjust them once in an hour and a half of wearing them.....unlike the EarPods that feel out every 5 minutes.

?? Why does anyone need to charge their earpods on their MBP?

...because they don't want to carry three chargers around for their MBP, iPhone and AirPods when the MBP can charge all three together?

Nobody without a MBP currently has any use for a USB-C lightning cable.

Except the 12" Macbook that has been on sale for 18 months of so now.

...but no, the problem here is not the Airpods lacking USB-C, the problem is the MBP and MB lacking USB-A. The fact that Apple is still supporting USB-A by default on new products should be a clue that it isn't obsolete just yet.

...or they should have had the "courage" to drop Lightning in favour of USB-C for iDevices before encouraging people to invest in Lightning headphones, docks and cables by dumping the headphone jack.

I'm really looking forward to these. Glad the reviews so far are great.

So my new $2,500 laptop doesn't support the cable? Apple really hasn't thought this through.
Your $2,500 laptop was a courageous mistake, which will be courageously corrected in 2017.
