Looks good. I prefer the cutout on top. Without that whole upper part of the screen would be black, rather than just a cutout.

Glad these don't have that dumb "TouchID on the back" thing. TouchID embedded into the screen would be sick!

That's not worth me coming out again for another 1k for a phone that is still basically like my iPhone 7 plus jet black.

I think your complaining is just for show.

If you have the latest 7 why in the world would you buy the 8? The days of phone "flipping" are over; the jumps in tech and features are really slim these days.

I have a 6 (not the 6S or +) and considering it's paid for and the newest versions haven't been a big enough leap for me so I have been waiting to see if the 8 (or whatever it will be called) is there.

What do I want?

1. Screen size without jumping to the plus sizes.
2. Bright screen.
3. Battery Life.
4. Battery life.
5. i like the waterproof feature.
6. Battery life.

Other than these things the current phones work really well!!!!

Simple answer.... $$$
If the rumored price has any legs to it, many will simply not want to spend that kind of cash on a phone.
I'm sure Apple will sell millions of 8's, but I suspect the 7s/7s Plus will out sell the 8.
Price is certainly a good point but for the same storage size, this article says it's only $130 more. Totally worth it in my opinion, and I'm one of the people who buys the base model, base storage iPhone because I can't justify more than $649. I can't imagine dropping $869 on a phone then balking at something objectively way better for only $130 more. But I'm sure you're right that people will buy it. And Apple has probably whittled down production costs and can produce the plus size relatively cheap now.

I really need to see the other colors. It STILL looks too close like a jet black iPhone 7 minus the position of the ugly camera.

To me it's still the same design on the iPhone 6/6s and 7.
4 years and we can't get a different look. No bueno.

I have a feeling the charging pad is going to cost at least $100

With the flash in the middle of both cameras won't we have glare issue if we use the flash that I never use on people.

And that UGLY silver rim around the camera. That is so samsung.

The flash works really well even with people now.

there is no silver trim... if you zoom in that's the lip that the stops it coming gut of the hole. Will be flush.

The back looks glass / ceramic - so "shouldn't" scratch like the jet black.

No glare issue. Not how flashes work.

I think for sure this is it. If u look on the iOS 11 software way of doing things. Like the way lockbutton/homebutton is essentially removed by merging notification center with a lockscreen. it leaves the option for making the lockbutton a home button.

The outline on the battery makes tons of sense and the layout change of the signal bars. This is a change apple has been working for a long time, when looking at how the ui now functions we have seem clues for years. I for sure believe there will be a gestural way to get to multitasking tray or they might even merge the powerscreen and multitasking screen together. I see that as the largest layout and ux issue. Like they already combined one screen. They have also done numerous tweaks to the audio hud, in smart adapting ways to what you are using on your screen. I think siri will move into control center as a toggle, but also be available as the traditional «hey Siri». They have for sure opened a door to create control center toggles for developers.

We might get a function bar at the bottom with contextual menues, which is an easier nicer and richer approach for most use cases. It will make sense that this is very linked to control center toggle actions, or close to the share menu toggles. I think they’re trying to integrate pieces they already have and unify the experience and polish them. It will be very difficult to predict what way they choose, but the Apple way is the way to be smart about it, and reuse what they already have, at least for me this seem to be their trend.

The corners will be filled in with black so that it will look like a black bar going across the top.
So don't worry, it'll look fine.

No they won't or they wouldn't have done it... they will be space for the icons. so more screen space for the main apps - as per the concept designs. probably wrong as the designer s

BUT - I think the concept photos are probably wrong as the icons / battery will change to fit the space better

Hands up who gets incredibly restless at the sight of iPhone components and gets a sudden urge to go down the Apple Store and preorder the next model - even if it's Sunday afternoon and the place is closed? Me for one!
So imagine how excited I'll be when I see actual photographs of the real thing and assembled as well? I've already joined the iPhone 8 Owners Club in readiness.
First Rule Of IPhone 8 Owners Club? Tell Everybody Of Course!

Apple = real innovation = embedded Touch ID on to the freaking screen.

Monkeys = just move it to the back and call it a day.

Camera bump is atrocious. Their hard-on for all things and design 'thin' has entirely ruined the aesthetic from the 4/5 iPhone days. Remember the flush camera, how nicely it looked against the back? How you could sit your phone down flat, without having it rest on one of the most important, breakable parts of your phone?

I really don't get the thinking behind the super sleek device with the huge bump in the back. The S8 looks gross from the back and it's the only reason I haven't thought of getting one...

Holy **** that bump

Is it just me or is the rear part got a protruding bottom right edge? Like, a counter shim so that the protruding camera wont make the phone wobble on a flat surface anymore.

I am surprised how many people can't see that t his is flush... that's a bevelled edge lip it slots in from behind.

you need to see the full size image I think...

So if this is legit. Will the vertical camera mean we will have to change how we hold the camera for non-vertical video?

Er. What? Wait no...er? What? Did you just say that? Um... I am currently trying to decide if you are serious or have a different idea about camera lenses and how circles work? Or you have chunky fingers?

A 4 digit number where the certification symbols go in the first picture? Fake!

The CE 0682 is a certification mark in the EU*. My iPhone has this marking in similarly sized text as this picture. The biggest difference is that it is usually a subtler colour. I don't really notice it on mine like you do on the one in the picture.

The boldness of the text might indicate this is a fake, but it could be the lighting making it show more or it's just a prototype without the refinements.

* CE 0682 mark is a designation that all mobile phones in the EU display.

Let me see if this will clear this up. Current iPhone 7+ for landscape video you have to hold phone landscape mode where the current camera is vertical. New phone already vertical camera=landscape mode video?
