If all the keys had an OLED panel, it could be useful, i.e multiple languages, DVORAK support, special symbols when you are gaming… But just getting the function keys. I don't see the point.

Here is my wish list for MBP.

- Kaby Lake
- Optane storage
- Wireless charging of Apple Watch, iPhone and mouse
- Smaller/lighter AC adapter
- No screen bezels so we can have larger screen or smaller sized laptop
- Light weight internal graphics card, but powerful external card as add-on (for VR)
- Fingerprint / retina scanner
- Better speakers, at least on par with iPad Pro
- Leap Motion / Kinect capabilities for in air gestures
- Water resistant, so you can spill coffee on it
- Better camera, at least on par with a Logitech C920 Pro
- Built-in laptop
feets that extends when you turn power on

But most likely we will get an overpriced product with a 16 month old processor and some more memory. It's all about the stock owners now, not building great product that transforms the industry.

You forgot OLED screen.

One sentence from the last presentation worries me.
Craig Federighi said that "Marketing was taking over", if you watch "The lost interview" it is the exact thing that Jobs criticized in big companies.
If it's all about colors, it's not about innovation, if it's about make-up, you don't care what's behind it... Please reduce marketing to its rightful place and give the money to the other departments. It used to work that way - and it used to work a whole lot better, IMHO.

It's why we now have annual major OS updates, markerting , and Dev canno catch up. Every 12 months just as a release gets stable we get a major update.....poor software development driven by markerting. Mac OS Should at least be every 2-3 years.

It makes you wonder what's next. The iPad Pro Pro? Tim Crook needs to find a way to up the price by another $100 at some point you know

100% Agree!

The iPad Pro will never be "really Pro", let alone a computer replacement, until iOS give the iPad a different treatment. Right now, an iPad is a nothing but a glorified iPhone since the iOS and the Apps pretty much share the same identity.

If the iPad Pro is ever to become a laptop replacement, it needs its own iOS Pro.

Drag between split screened apps. File or finder app.

Not that it really matters. I would still use macOS for anything productive. And the ipad for what it's useful for..drawing and pdf/comics reader.

It appears to be running the beta of iOS 10, which can be vaguely pointed out by looking at the build number.

Usually when iOS devices are manufactured, the factory flashes the future public release.

I think this is fake.

The only way I would be interested in this is if Apple is also releasing a new iOS update with it, with specific changes just for the iPad Pro. As it stands now, iOS 10 gives the iPad split screen safari and less annoying notifications. The rest of iOS 10 doesn't really change the experience much.

Also, they need to add USB-C/Thunderbolt 3. That would hands down make the device actually useful beyond basic tasks.

I'm really tempted to buy the larger model, but I'm just worried about it ending up like the iPhone 6 Plus did for me—TOO BIG. The 12.9" iPad Pro is certainly one area where I wouldn't mind if Apple put in some work to make it lighter. But Adobe just updated Lightroom Mobile the other day to support RAW import and I'm over the moon about it. How do you guys like using Lightroom Mobile on the 12.9" Pro vs. the 9.7" model previously? I'd also like to use it for drawing. Just not sure which size to get. If the iPad Pro 2 9.7" size gets 4GB RAM I'd seriously consider it.

*obligatory I wish Apple would enhance the software for their Pro iOS devices*

Maybe you ppl at MacRumors can take a closer look at the leaked images before writing and submitting the article. The image obviously shows a 9.7" iPad and not a 12.9 inch. Just doing a simple count of the items on the settings screen learns that.

Anyone taking pictures on an iPad Pro in public should be immediately arrested. That's just criminal!
I use mine to scan/digitize documents. Even in public. Not really criminal.

Maybe you mean this guy who had a penchant for really big cameras. Ansel Adams. Produced some criminally beautiful photographs I guess you could say? Sorta.

Amidst the recent flurry of videos and images of iPhone 7 mockups coming out of China, one pair of pictures that emerged over the weekend claims to offer evidence of Apple's successor to the first iteration 12.9-inch iPad Pro.

Sent in to AppleInsider and said to originate from a Chinese supplier, the combined image below shows a device identified with model number MH1C2CD/F, which has yet to be assigned to an iPad by Apple so far.

While the identifier proves little, the nomenclature is in line with Apple's existing numbering convention for its iPad Pro range, and Apple is due to refresh its largest tablet this fall.

AppleInsider notes that the device's screen shows a 12GB capacity, which is just enough for installing an OS and apps for internal testing and debugging, suggesting the device could be a pre-production model or prototype.

Based on previous updates to the company's tablet range, customers can expect a new 12.9-inch iPad Pro to feature a faster A10X processor and a better camera, with a good chance it will inherit the True Tone display seen in the 9.7-inch iPad Pro. 3D Touch is also a possibility, although Apple would need to have overcome the challenges involved in porting the technology to a larger screen.

Apple is also expected to launch thinner and lighter MacBook Pro models this fall, with some rumors suggesting a dynamic OLED touch panel could feature as part of a planned redesign.

Umm, look at the white frame, there is NO possible way that is a 12.9" iPad. Unless the home button is now the size of a quarter....

Unless a giant is holding that iPad, that's no 12.9" model. Hand on the left, an average sized thumb would suggest a smaller model.

Look at the bezels and the home button, definitely NOT a 12.9" model..

Or look at the bezel..

Weight should be the highest priority....after making the software significantly more optimized. The most disappointing thing about iOS 10 was the lack of iPad specific features.

It's still just the "big ol' iPod touch" for a reason.

I really like my iPad Pro (well...the company owns it) for meetings and reading through documents. Using AirPlay to project timelines and such things is great, as is taking notes in meetings. But all my real work is still done on my computer.

There are still so many small random bugs in iOS9 on the Pro which still seems to have problems with size of the display (such as when trying to search the preferences). Usually rotating between landscape and portrait will get things to 'work' again. Frustrating.

As others have said, the iOS needs a lot of upgrades to make it a more productive device. Start by fixing bugs.

a 12 GB model might indeed be a Cookish move. They'll gain more from the iCloud subscription every month than from the one time extra you pay for more flash.
As said it's because it's a prototype model. Apple isn't that stupid..... I hope.
[doublepost=1469461026][/doublepost]Looking at the proportions of the home button, camera, bezels vs screen, and hand, this looks like the 9.7" model.
Anybody else think so or is it definitely the 12.9" model?

I bought a Surface Pro 4 fanless m3 with 128gb version last week on sale from BB for 600 using an EDU coupon they give out. All I can say is, I sold my ipad Mini 4, Dell 7000 Android tablet, Dell i7 2-in-1 laptop, and a Dell Venue 11 Pro tablet PC. That should tell you how good the Surface is, no point in messing around with all that other stuff anymore. In fact, I even bought my wife a smaller Surface 3 with cellular for her to take when she's on the road.

Those iPads and Android tablets look like a joke compared to the Surface and the sad part is, an iPad and a Galaxy Tab S2 are almost the same price as the Surface.

Sadly, still not interested until we have near full Xcode on this thing (well, a iOS-complete Xcode, very obviously you wouldn't be able to simulate Mac apps on it). Then I will buy one as soon as on they go on sale.

No. But it's coming.

So is an update to every product ever.
It is bizarre, silly, and foolish to feel like your current cutting edge device is "outdated" months and months before a replacement comes out, based on a rumor that a replacement will come.
Duh. You knew a replacement would come before you even bought it.
Would I feel like a brand new 2017 model car is outdated right now, just because it's a certainty that a 2018 model will arrive next year? No. Because that's patently insane.

If True Tone is in the box, it's exactly what's I've been waiting for... So is it too late to believe in Santa again? :)

Yes and wait 1.5months, if you don't hardly depend of it.
If they don't release a new version, you can still buy it.
Just 1.5 months to go.
IKR? I do work on it...but I got mac pro...it's no biggie..but eventually i'll need one. I watch videos and surf web as well. Do you personally believe this rumor is real?
[doublepost=1469464037][/doublepost]
I absolutely Agree
Next thing: selfie with apple watch.

Oooh man, the much anticipated, almost mythical sounding A10X/ios10 convergence is about to happen, ;)
