Hyundai and Kia are quality but they’re built to a budget. Somethings may not feel as luxurious but that’s purely a cost saving. It’s easy to make things feel nice once the basics are solid.
I worked in an Audi franchise for a good amount of time and something feeling luxurious does not always equal quality trust me.
Had an Audi. Can confirm. Will never own another luxury car again 💸💸💸

What could possibly go wrong? Anyone who thinks this is fine just because it probably won’t be in our hands has never driven a motorcycle. Your safety is in the hands of others at least as much as your own.

I might get in trouble for this, but there's nothing bad in what I'm saying. Apple needs to stick with computers, phones and software. We've been waiting two years for a refresh on the iMac and still we're not any closer to an announcement on an iMac. Yet Apple can make an announcement on a car that is 2-4 years down the road. If Microsoft's OS didn't stink to high Heaven, I would've jumped ship last June when they snubbed the iMac.

This product will be dead on arrival. The first version of the product from a new player in town, fully automated. Who dares to ride this? What if there’s a bug? Even the first version of apple’s laptop or any of their tech products have its own fault.

I much prefer to have an intelligent car trying to evade me than my local Toronto idiot drivers on their phones - by far the worst bunch of people who shouldn’t be on the road. More self driving cars urgently needed.

Just like the iPhone it will be a total flop. Who would want to try this out? Something new? That’s crazy!

So it’s “a” or “b” in terms of resources? Apple can either fix software bugs or create emoji’s? Either make an apple car or refresh the iMac?

This article is not about an Apple announcement though. And it’s computers one way or the other.

A new iMac is also believed to be in the works, very likely to be released much much earlier than the car.

This could be true, but Kia will really have to update their manufacturing quality because Apple is very demanding about their products down to less than a millimeter. Kia just hasn't had that attention to detail when I last checked them out a bit more than 5 years ago.

I hope it is true and I hope it helps Apple and Kia (and everyone who uses this product), but I'll believe it when I see it.

You can read your comment exactly to the tee when they announced the phone , "Apple needs to stick to computers" was a very popular opinion back in the day.

Great companies are always looking for new opportunities , could you envision Google building an OS that will be the most popular in the world when they were doing search and advertising ? could you imagine Apple taking over the phone industry ? bumping off Motorola , blackberry and Nokia?
Eilon musk from doing PayPal into building cars and topping the car industry valuation in such a short time ?

What I find the most surprising in the CEO forum guild , that they are SO boring and change averse , in almost any thread of a company trying something new , the guild CEO`s run in and give the most obvious dull view "They should stick to what they know!!" , I would want to see the guild support more risk taking and adventures companies , don't worry Apple will keep making phones and computers (at least in the foreseeable future) , I like new adventures as we get iPhones , Tesla`s , IBM 610 and so on and so on.

TLDR - Apple has vision and capital , it will be criminal to not go for new product categories.

I guess it remains to be seen, once the technology is widely deployed, whether the number of crashes due to human error are greater than the number of crashes due to humans watching movies or taking naps or having lunch while their cars make all the decisions.

I want to get excited, but then I remember how awful auto correct is in ios. And how bad Siri still is.
Yeah, I wanted to get excited too... but then I remembered that I like peanut butter, but could use some swimming lessons.

(see? I can just make rando unrelated statements too!)

Oh boy. Hopefully there's a tracker like UPS Follow My Delivery so I can avoid its path.
Yes, Ned Ludd... you’ll be able to take your horse down side trails & stay away from those crazy new “automobiles” that nutcase Henry Ford is building! 😉

Why restricted areas and good weather? My Tesla works fine in rain and pretty much drove itself down to LA and back from the bay area. The only time I took control was stopping for food since I wanted to drive by places and see what the lines were like. Also, works pretty well on city streets including the subdivision I live in.
Is that with auto pilot? What all does auto pilot do?

haha - i call bs on your Post.
The car comes 2025
Apple will not build a Race car but hopefully a very compelling fine designed one. Who’s better at that than Porsche!
Every Tesla well most of them are faster than current Porsche but every Porsche looks far better than any Tesla.
You basically didn’t call bs on anything. The debate still stands. Apple wouldn’t higher a Porsche engineer in chassis development if it’s not going to have user interaction with driving it. Are Tesla’s faster? Acceleration yes. Outright road pace? No.

I don’t really see how my statement is random? Apple should invest more in their bread and butter, computer software and hardware.

The only thing random about this is Apple dabbling in the car business, and your comment.

You know they just released the 11th version of macOS and their own custom silicon that’s faster and more power efficient than any of the competition? Is that not enough investment? Does it not please you?

Maybe a store or restaurant subscribes to a service that manages the cars for the store or restaurant. This would work well because the car could always remain in the well-mapped areas near the store.
Definitely possible. I'm overall uncomfortable not owning my own vehicle.

This could have negative blow-back if Apple uses drivers like Tesla guinea pigs for autonomous driving.

Too bad Apple is going the boring autonomous route. Perhaps it is a less competitive road to take if the alternative is to make an excellent EV car with Apple design features.

Japan yes. Korea, not so much. Fit, finish, and longevity all suffer on Korean designed and sourced vehicles as compared to those from Japan (if you are only talking Asian producers). I know they are mostly made elsewhere but the designs are sourced from Korea and the component requirements are written and approved in Korea.
And yet Hyundai is ranked above BMW, Audi, and Mercedes in multiple overall quality rankings.
