Well hell, my advice still is don't drop your iPhone, just as my advice is don't drop ANYTHING you don't want to risk breaking.

What an idiot. I would never do business with that company. Why would somebody ruin any piece of electronics like that with people standing in line waiting to buy said electronics. It's crass.

Hearing that screen shatter at the end made me cringe.

This is ridiculous, obviously if you drop a glass paneled phone on the concrete from 5 feet up in the air it's going to break. What a moron.

Someone should have tackled him......

That would have been the perfect time to tell Siri you need help hiding a body!

Hahahaha, the negative reaction from so many of you is exactly what makes videos like this hilarious.

It's like that one video of the guy who waited forever to be first in line for the Nintendo Wii launch, then when he got it immediately went outside and smashed it in front of the rest of the line.

But real talk, I think if Apple designed a drop-proof or at least drop-resistant phone, that would be a HUGE selling point.

This sort of video is kinda like the negative reaction people would get if I was to randomly punch you dead in your face. It would be hilarious, but not too cool.

anytime a new product is release they will replace it at no charge regardless of damage.

i forget what they call it but it has to do with field quality control.

all that dude needs to do is go into the apple store and get it replaced. i used to work for apple and it never fails.... some db will put it in the toilet and come in crying.....we replaced it no question.

it lasts about a month. there is a quota of maybe 150 units from all stores total.

I want to see drop tests with CASES! I know the phone will break. I want to see which CASES break

Glad I got my free bumper last year. Dropped my iPhone 4 a bunch of times and don't even have a scratch.

Right.... quick name 10 consumer grade electronic devices that can survive a fall like that.

Better yet, let pick you up, flip you over, and drop you on your head from 5 feet in the air and see how you fair. I bet you'll need something replaced too.

There are LOTS of phones that you could do that and they'll barely get a scratch. Dropped my SGS2 a few times without a single scratch. Here's an HTC being thrown:

Even the Original iP3 and 3gs do WAY better than the iP4. Dropped my original iP4 and not only did the glass break, but also the screen matrix inside. They are ridiculously fragile.

So much for the "better build quality" argument...

They do this to somehow get a rise out of people yet no one cares in the end. If it was the ONLY iPhone 4S to ever exist, maybe people would care. but there's a store in there selling hundreds. Really silly.

Exactly, the store has hundreds, and thousands of people want one. This guy has deprived one genuine buyer from getting their launch day phone.

And for my next trick...

What should this guy do next?

Stand outside a soup kitchen and drop food on the ground.
Stand outside an unemployment office and set money on fire.
Stand outside a movie theater on opening night of a blockbuster and rip up his tickets.
Hey, Christmas is coming...he could buy the hot toy for this season and destroy it in front of kids waiting to see Santa.

Must be nice to be rich.

EDIT:

...or should I say...

Must be nice to have rich parents. :D

A phone should survive a fall like that. It's ridiculous that it breaks so easily.

Virtually any device being dropped from that height to a concrete surface is gonna break. If people are that concerned about the breakage potential, do what I do and get a good case. I've never had a phone in case break on me, even if the phone has been dropped numerous times.

Don't think he's actually rich. It's a stupid publicity stunt for their ghetto iPhone repair shop.

I must remember to get their contact information... it seems they certainly understand how to treat the device with proper care.
