I think that is a little ignorant to do on the morning of the release day, as people are waiting in line to buy one. Most likely, someone in that line will not be able to get one that day because it's sold out. And that idiot had to buy one that day from the store... just to break it. Self business promotion or not... what an ******...

Yeah, you can break glass if you drop it. Think I learned that when I was 3.

These videos are funny, but I much prefer stuff like this

Yes, I am that mean.

Ignorant vs Arrogant.

Seriously?! Some people are in line for 8+ hrs, and others cant afford it, and you just drop it on the ground... Some people just have way too much money...

Wouldn't it make more sense to put it in a case and THEN drop it and show everyone it not having any damage?

Dropping an un-cased iPhone will break it - yes, we know this already. We did not need a demonstration of that.

A phone should survive a fall like that. It's ridiculous that it breaks so easily.

My Sony Ericsson, (all plastic), dropped and the plastic broke too! All phones should be about to withstand a drop like this, no?

I disagree, that video was pretty impressive. It took two drops from ~4-5 feet on to concrete for the screen to crack. Even then, I bet the phone is still usable (I've known a few people to break the capactive screen on their phones and it still function).

Usually people donate money to see new gadgets get destroyed in front of a line on launch day. Why? No clue. Some sort of fanboyism, I gather. But I doubt they will be out any money personally after this.

Hahahaha, the negative reaction from so many of you is exactly what makes videos like this hilarious.

It's like that one video of the guy who waited forever to be first in line for the Nintendo Wii launch, then when he got it immediately went outside and smashed it in front of the rest of the line.

But real talk, I think if Apple designed a drop-proof or at least drop-resistant phone, that would be a HUGE selling point.

Right.... quick name 10 consumer grade electronic devices that can survive a fall like that.

Better yet, let pick you up, flip you over, and drop you on your head from 5 feet in the air and see how you fair. I bet you'll need something replaced too.

Richard Simmons and broken iPhones in a single thread? I don't know how this can get any better.

Wait for it. Wait for it.

Fizbo. This thread just got real.

On a serious note: Buy a case or don't drop your phone five feet onto concrete.

i wonder what would happen if we dropped him?

(if the first drop doesn't do anything, do we drop him face down??)

Congratulations.

$150 ($100 for AppleCare+ and $50 for the replacement phone) is cheap for Internet notoriety.

Its the deal deal!
