to be honest. i think weve reached a point with phones where most people arent going to care about the year to year enhancements. a visual makeover is going to be important. They could probably sell more 7's by just changing the look and repackaging the 6s internals than they would adding all of these features to the same design

The only thing more annoying than all the posters complaining, tirelessly, about the rendering and photoshopping in the placeholder graphic on this rumor is my post, here, complaining about those people complaining about the generic graphic.

It is also strange how bent people get over minor details like the shape of the sides of the phone... does anyone actually care about the function instead of the trivial minutia of form?? The iPhone will never get some redesign making it into a Darth Vader helmet or dodecahedron... it's a slab now, it will be a slab for a long time to come.

Does the protruding camera really bother that many people? I mean I guess I'm not bothered by it because my phone is always in a case, but still

Same for antenna bands really

For me personally, if the camera was flat and they fixed the thing where my hair gets caught on the glass i'd see no need for a case.

I have to admit the antenna lines never really bothered me much. I didn't like the protruding camera but I keep my phone in a case so not really a big deal for me. Currently using the iPhone 6 Plus, if there aren't any significant changes I may sit this upgrade period out. I already own my phone so the longer I use it the more value I get out of it.

I'm not due an upgrade until June 2017 so I will wait for 7S Plus in September 2017.

a bigger battery means a bigger and heavier phone. No thanks...
I can obtain 6-8 hrs of actual usage from my iPhone 6S, that's definitely enough for a single day.
In MY opinion using a phone more than a few hours per day is insane
You have to read the context of my last post. I was referring to the difference of the 7 and potential 7+...I am hoping they don't change/upgrade the internals of the + series just because it is bigger. I want all the goodies but just in a 4.7 size. If they have extra room in a + model they should fill it with moar battery!

That just means it will have plenty of resale value when you inevitably sell it to get the iPhone 7!
Actually no...

As iPhone sales slide, resale is beginning to suffer.

A frequent upgrader, I watch the secondary market closely. Used iPhones are no longer the high priced sought after phone they once were. They're everywhere.

Apple is commonplace today.

Because, you know, it has to have antenna to work as a phone :rolleyes:

In a case there's nothing protruding, you are right, but a flushed camera is welcomed.

and exactly who cares about your underwear ? o_O

They are not the same, but they share the same "family feeling".
The iPhone 6 was a bigger departure from that design.

Please ! Don't sit on your iPhone 6: it will bend :D:D:D
[doublepost=1454496540][/doublepost]
The iPhone 5S share the same design but with much better hardware than the iPhone 5....

Did you realize your phone NEED holes for those sensors to work ?
Don't buy a white phone if it bother you so much ....

What a beauty ! :cool::cool::cool:
[doublepost=1454497576][/doublepost]
yes, because they sold such a few phones ... they are lacking in the skill indeed ... :rolleyes:

why are you so obsessed about apple's profit ?
you keep speaking about that , even with multiple posts in the same thread ....

Breaking news : a commercial company looking for profits.
Not sure why you're so emotionally attached feeling like you have to defend this company.

There's a difference between Apple striving to make the same gross profits that the other companies make vs. Apple’s price gouging. But then again one has to have a thorough understanding of Apple’s business practices vs that which is the corporate standard.

Suffice to say that Apple has power over the minds of millions.

I care less about the protruding camera and care more about not segmenting the camera capabilities between sizes. I don't want a phone that large but I want the camera. This is seemingly a growing trend with Apple and a weird one concerning just not too long ago they were scoffing at a larger screen size.

Hypocrisy at Apple is their Mission Statement. It's also unapologetically hypocritical.
[doublepost=1454506641][/doublepost]
I've never understood the constant criticism of the bands on the back. Is this really something that keeps people awake? I've never once looked at the bands and thought, "man, the phone would so much better without them." I mean, if that's what you're complaining about, you're basically saying the phone can't get much better, it seems.

Wile I sued to hate the antenna bands, I don't anymore. BUT...

The antenna bands are like putting pinstripes on a Ferrari.

So, push out a potential new feature just for battery, battery weights a lot more than whatever they'd fill in, so not only more battery, less feature and much more weight...

Not sure most people would agree with that especially since the 6s+ is already pretty good with its battery.

lol... it took about 2 hours to sell my iPhone 6 at a very good price.
But keep going, keep going...

No. Apple just sell millions of products to millions of happy customers.

I'm not sure why you are so emotionally attached feeling like you have to downplay this company...

Not a fan of the sharp corners on the antenna lines of the original mock-up, so I've made a more rounded version which I think is closer to what Apple would do (if they did go that route).View attachment 614018
Can you add the second camera and rings around it similar to the 4/4s? I'm sure Apple would go that way.

Nope, can't get with that. If this is what we're loosing the headphone jack for, that annoying green robot is going to be back on the cards.

I think you're right on this. If the 7 just looks like a 6ss it will impact the sales (somewhat) as there are alot of people who want to be noticed that they have the "new" thing...and this just looks like the "old" thing. I like the overall 6 / 6s design shown here, but if they don't make it visually distinctive its going to hit them noticeably on sales (removing cross bar antenna lines and recessing the camera lens doesn't really cut it). Time will tell.

They will redesign heavily, sales are slowing so they need a renovated attractive, not an iphone 6 1/2

It better have a headphone jack! If they remove that, sales will tank!
[doublepost=1454511865][/doublepost]
No redesign? But but but, I want everybody to know I have the new iPhone...

As if someone cares what you have....
[doublepost=1454511972][/doublepost]
Personally will not be upgrading to anything but a 6S+ if they go back to straight edges. Rounded edges has been the best choice they've made design wise since the 3G iPhone.

Amen! I still kind of miss the old iPhone 3 design.

And, to all those looking for thinner and lighter. Seriously, are you that weak? It's plenty thin and light enough as it is.

I second that, I also sold my iPhone 6 at a very good price, Android phones can only hope that.
In the 7 years that I have had Apple iPhones, I have never paid for a single phone, the sale of the previous generation phone has more than financed the new phones, in other other words I have made profit for most of the phones that I have sold.
But that party is about to end, ATT stopped offering 2 year contracts.
