Sierra Blue Pro here. Gorgeous colour, feels nice in the hand (upgrade from 11 Pro), slick screen. Very happy!
I have never owned an iPhone but my favorite color is blue and Sierra Blue looks really nice. Last years blue was also a nice color as well.

In the states usually not.
Last year my UPS driver said it was required here (that Apple required it). I only know because last year I had a funeral I had to leave early for on delivery day, so I tracked my UPS driver down and she was kind and got me the new phone off of the truck. She also said it was a good thing, because she wouldn't have been allowed to leave it at my house if no one was there to sign for it.

So... it may be required. But that may also depend on your delivery driver. I decided I wasn't going to take a chance myself this year that it would be required and set delivery for my office where there was a high likelihood that no one would be home when it would be delivered today.

The fact that you have to touch the screen to get the wallpaper animation to work is one of the most hilariously ridiculous things Apple has ever done. Its up there with the lightning connector on the Pencil.
It's a useless gimmick which I don't understand why Apple keeps bringing it back each year with every wallpaper update.

13 Pro - Graphite.

After an hour:

• 120hz is very nice

• PWM is much improved

• Speakers are excellent

• Camera module is large (and stoopid). It's an odd design. Def needs a case to protect, and I'm not a case guy.

• Graphite colour is too light - would have preferred black or a much darker shade.

• Matt glass back is smoother than last year.

• Glad I got the Pro and not the Pro Max. Even coming from a 7 Plus this phone feels large and heavy enough.

Upgrading from the iPhone 8 feels very different. Wondering why the phone seems to get quite warm when using camera though. Need to monitor that.

Seems to have a nice external speaker :)

To the person complaining about the warmth on the screen I think they need to turn off True Tone because they clearly have no clue.

LOL look at my signature.. That was there last time I logged in here...

I got gold last year, so was thinking of changing it up. I liked the blue a lot, but I still prefer the darker blue to the new blue, unfortunately…

I have yet to get lucky and find one that makes the back flat. 😓😢
Mind to share what you found so far? :)
If you compare the 11 cases pre-MagSafe to the 12 MagSafe cases, the back was flat because the material was thick. There wasn’t a ridge around the camera module area because the back was as thick as that area.

Once they made the backs thin to support MagSafe, “flat” is now gone. So you MAY be able to find a case that makes the back flat, but it won’t work with MagSafe.

And those of us who wants the flat/level back are unlikely to worry too much about the MagSafe knowing it is the drawback. :)

So you assume we all are upgrading from 12s and not older phones?
We get this every single time, sadly. ”It’s not a huge upgrade from my 11-month old device” - why do they expect radical paradigm shifts every single year? It feels like a straw man they’re setting up. I can’t decide whether the outrage is feigned or just way out of touch. Do these folks also buy a brand new car every single year? To someone upgrading from a 3-5 year old device it’s a huge upgrade.

I’m guessing the only thing that would please them (aside from radical redesigns every year, but they’d probably complain then too), would be if they bought, say, an iPhone 12, and then Apple kept selling (only) that same iPhone 12 until the radically different iPhone 16 was ready, 4 years later, not caring that everyone else was only able to get the aging iPhone 12 design in the intervening 4 years, because that doesn’t affect them directly. It doesn’t occur or matter to them that other people are on different upgrade cycles. Thankfully, we generally get what we should from Apple (on this front) - incremental year-to-year upgrades, continuous improvement each year, and people can upgrade when the benefits outweigh the costs for them.

My 13 Pro is running very warm in hand just browsing this forum?

The iPhones themselves look great but those cases don’t. That giant lip is a problem and it’s not going to lie flat.
Yeah, I was fine with the cameras protruding when the Apple cases balanced it out to all be flat, so the phone could be set down with wobbling (and with the entire back of the case protecting the lenses if something was pressed against it), but… that lip is rather ungainly looking, is going to wobble, and isn’t going to offer as much protection (easier for the lip to bend that for the entire back of the case to compress), and it’s going to catch on things occasionally, pocket edges or otherwise.

Since Apple finally got a 120hz screen in the pros, and the cameras seem to be much improved, I almost want one even though I’ve been super super critical of Apple lately. However, these colors just ruin it for me, I’ve been waiting for an actual black phone since the iPhone 7! The rumors said Apple was finally going to give us a black color to choose from, and instead we got a bunch of hideous pastels, gaudy gold, “silver” which looks like a dirty off white, and some color that looks like a kid colored it in with a pencil.

ironically, the non-pro iPhones actually come in black! I can’t think of any tool in the professional world, no matter what it may be that’s Barbie blue, nada. I wouldn’t care if they came in hot pink with purple polka dots as long as they also have options for those of us who don’t want a Barbie phone. The only one that looks decent is the silver, but again that isn’t black, so…

Apple needs to seriously fire its designers, what do they actually design anyways? The template they use was done by Jobs and Ive anyways, all they do is select the colors during pre-production. They need to hire someone like me, or anyone else that has some actual taste. 99.999% of people aren’t here on this forum and don’t care about pretending everything Apple does is the best thing ever. I hate to keep harping on it but if websites like this are going to push this narrative on us that these colors are “gorgeous” than there has to be some push back from the real world.

There’s simply no excuse for not having a black when even the iPhone mini comes in black!!

Gotta run, UPS just showed up with my new Snap-On pry bar set, got pastel blue to match my baby blue impact gun and socket set!!🦄
Graphite not black enough for you?

The "Gotta run" cracks me up to no end. If he had to run, he wouldn't have written War and Peace about the lack of black. LOL

Genuinely curious if *anybody* is receiving a 13 Pro Max on launch day. I have a feeling Apple still managed to fall victim to supply chain issues, because even though I had Apple Business Team pre-order last Friday, it looks like I'm still not getting mine until the middle of October...
Mine is out for delivery. Pro max 1TB

I am hoping that the camera bump is so big (wide, specifically) that it can't act as a fulcrum, and the phone will just be sloped from top to bottom when set on a surface, with no side-to-side rocking. Have not seen any comments on this yet. My phone arrives today, but the case not for another week...
