All I have to say is let hope developers get going on the iOS 8 optimized apps because if they aren't the apps are fuzzy as hell
Is there a setting allowing you to turn off the vibration altogether?
I am glad for Apple and for us that reactions are so mixed in terms of choosing between the 5.5 inch phone vs 4.7 inch. This is a good thing. It just means that it comes down to personal preference, and neither one is "unusable". They both belong and are good for the lineup.
It would have been nice if they sent their stores a few phones each as display models to test out the different sizes a week before launch. Lots of foot traffic for the stores.
I went with the 4.7, but in fear of 5.5 being too big. Though I am not opposed to 5.5 as my next phone. I won't know if I made the right decision til this afternoon.
6 here. Glad I went with 4.7". Seems like the perfect size for me.
I figured apps would look fuzzy, but its definitely more noticeable than I anticipated. Hope they start updating soon!
weren't the "professional reviewers" raving about how good non optimized apps looked and that nothing needs to be done from the developer side, it just works. Shows once again how fake these reviewers are.

iPhone 6 Plus owner here. My first impressions are...
Great size. Much larger than 5s (obviously) but easy to manage.
The screen seems to blur quite a bit when scrolling. My eyes are aching a little after using it a while. Not sure if this is normal or a defect.
The vibration motor is a little ridiculous. Very loud.
The sound quality is very very good. Well impressed.
iOS 8 seems a little buggy in Zoomed View so gone back to Standard View. Zoomed View doesn't allow iPad style app functionality either.
Scrolling motion doesn't seem as smooth as on iPhone 5s.
802.11ac Wi-Fi doesn't feel hugely quicker to me so far.
Got the iPhone 6 and the size is noticeably larger. I thought the iPhone 5 was larger than it needed to be since I could no longer reach everything with my thumb as I use the device one handed. I got use to it but still missed the previous size. This new one makes it impossible to stretch to the top and so you have to use the reachability button all the time. The width while only slight bigger is enough that you have to adjust your grip and I'm not sure if its heavy but I feel my hand getting tired holding it. And I'm use to holding the iPhone 5 all day long.
It's nothing horrible like the Plus but its enough that you'll wish it were smaller. However, for most of us Apple is the only choose as Android has 0 interest to me. So whatever Apple makes we have to take. I just hope eventually once people get over the large screen craze, that maybe iPhone 7 or 8 will go back to a more normal size for people who already have Macbook Pro's and iPads for larger needs.
Most all apps are blurry. Not like non retina blurry but enough that if you have good eye site you will notice it's off. Though even the native iOS seems slightly off. Maybe not blurry persay but text and everything seems ever so slightly off. I imagine thats the retina hd screen. One would think it would be clearer and maybe it is , but whatever is 'off' feels more wrong than right if that makes sense. But I'll get use to whatever difference that is.
The power button on the right I like better but will take a very long time to get use to breaking a very old habit.
TouchID is a bit slower than I would have thought to recognize. Don't like that each app you have to find the setting to enable it. Which you could enable it under the main settings area and then under the app's name. Same with passport wish it was in the main settings app rather than hunting to find where each app developer as put the setting.
see bolded. does your do this when you are using an app that's not optimized for iPhone 6 or iPhone 6+? That's my impression. doesn't happen when using optimized apps but browsing facebook, instagram, spotify, etc. all seem laggy and to blur when scrolling... likely due to them not being optimized yet.

Here's hoping when it comes time for the iPhone 6S, Apple will make a 4.0 inch screen phone option.. I'm not a fan of bigger screens on the iPhone at all. I have an iPad for when I need that.
Those opting for the gold model may notice that it is "a bit more yellow golden" than the gold iPhone 5s.
am i the ONLY one who doesn't mind them?
Waiting for the torrent of "What I hate about the iPhone 6 & 6 Plus" & "What I hate most about iOS 8" threads, formed around mis-interpretation of rumours, malformed false expectations and O.T.T. cringe-inducing, obsessive pre-delivery hype... I can feel it coming... I'm waiting... and when it comes, I'm gone, baby.
Excitement and expectations set to wear off in... 5... 4... 3... 2... 1...
Brace yourselves - here come the knee jerks...

yeah i already know the 6 plus is way to big. the 6 is where it's at and it's a shame that everyone talks down about it as "the regular iphone". the 6 Plus took the attention away from the fact that 6 now has an absolutely gorgeous display that has even more screen real estate than the 5/5S, yet it still easy to handle
