Lol k yeah they are pretty small things.

Yeah, sure, that's what you *should not* look when paying 1000$ for a phone.

First of all with the battery, most ip4 owners would agree but one thing that we know is that the battery takes around 70% of the space inside the phone, and making it bigger would only increase size, and particularly, thickness. We all know that apple hates thick electronics.

Okay - perhaps battery cannot be improved only by increasing size. R&D anybody?

Secondly, a home button is a home button. :p

Uh... I bow to your insight.

Lastly, most ip4 owners would again agree, and two speakers (one on top, one below) would deliver awesome surround-sound style games and music, like when you put the headphones in. Then again its a phone, NOT a gaming console.

Tell that to Apple (investing largely on gaming) and to the numberless developers making tons of $$$.

Look i know what your saying and everybody would want more battery life, a better home button and better speakers, but this is apple we are talking about here. They cant even get their notifcation system right, and if they did, it would be better than all three of those things.

Whether a right "notifcation" system would be better than battery life and else is subjective.

You're free to contribute and debate, but if you want to weaken my points do it with some cognition.

Look man it's not my problem that you want your phone to have 20+ hours of battery life, and achieving that is probably the least of Apple's concerns. iPhone 5 will probably only be a minor update from the iphone 4, which should including fixing the antenna. They are not wasting their time making the phone thicker so you can have some extra battery life.

Stop to "look man" me and get on the same page.

For starters I for one have never been remotely touched by any antenna issue so I don't see what's to be fixed.

Secondly - it's plain ridiculous your statement regarding the battery and Apple not caring about its improvement. Of course they care and "look man" I can assure you they work very hard at that. If they didn't care we would have a different products lineup altogether from the current one.

Now that we are on the same page.

Firstly, i also have never dropped a call, but surely there must be some people in the world who did not buy an iphone 4 because of the 'antenna issues'. The media really did screw apple around that badly :( because there is really no such thing as an antennae issue. It's a modern myth and it should be left at that.

Secondly about the battery, i know they work hard at it, but you can only put so much battery into a product. Like i stated before, the battery takes at least around 60% of space inside the phone itself.

Your best bet at getting better battery life would probably be to reinvent the a4 chip (maybe an a5 chip in the iphone 5?) which would work much more efficiently than the one which they have now, however i still think that battery performance from the a4 chip in the iphone 4 is outstanding in comparison to other smartphones.
For a better battery it would either be that or make the phone physically larger (l x w x h), And apple would never result in making the phone thicker. They never have and probably never will.

A modern myth? Really? I could have sworn that when I cover the antenna my bars drop.

Haha ohkay well i guess it happens to some people :) but never had a dropped call. Btw im in australia.. does that have anything to do with this antenna thing?

The iPhone 4 is one of the most fun things I have ever had.

Hi, I'm new here (just bought an iPhone 4! :D) but I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're refering to as iPhone, is in fact, ARM/Apple, or as I've recently taken to calling it, ARM plus Apple. Apple is not an engineering company unto itself, but rather another component of a fully functioning ARM system made useful by the Apple engineers, managers and slaves comprising a full electronics company as defined by common sense.

Many mobile users run a modified version of ARM hardware every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of ARM hardware which is widely used today is often called iPhone, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically ARM Cortex-A hardware, developed by the fabless semiconductor company Intrinsity, and manufactured by Samsung.

There really is an OS, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Apple iOS IS the OS: the program in the system that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run. The OS is an essential part of a mobile, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete mobile phone system. iOS is normally used in combination with ARM Cortex hardware: the whole system is basically ARM embedded hardware with iOS added, or ARM/iOS.

tl;dr: All the so-called Apple iPhones are really combinations of ARM hardware/iOS.

Okay well good then. Nobody i know who has an iphone 4 has frequently dropped calls so there we go... "I for one have never been remotely touched by any antenna issue." So now that isnt an issue if you dont drop calls either.

Like i said before, bigger battery will probably only come from more efficient processing power within the phone, and not bulking it up.

so WHY are you suggesting the user he gets a case? you know, Gli.Azzurri, I most definitely don't get your posts logic.

Sorry im just stating that a large majority of iPhone users use cases, and its true too. Mostly not for signal reception, but for protection.

So true! I only have a case in case I drop the phone. Otherwise I would love to let the design shine through. I have watched the bars change when holding the phone. Sometimes they decrease, sometimes they increase, but mainly it seems to be where you are standing in the world. I think the antenna issue is a myth that has been fueled by the media. A wireless device is always going to have variations in reception.

ive just bought mine
mine is 45week :)
already jailbroken, everything works well but signal stregth is really weak compared to my nokia...

iPhone 4 is thinner and less wide than its predecessor, this change presents new challenges. Holding it doesn't "feel as good" and natural as the 3G and 3G S, whose rounded edges melded nicely into my hands. In addition, the dual flat surfaces on the front and back of the iPhone 4 make it much more difficult to "feel your way" to the front when reaching into your pocket.

I just got my IP4 yesterday. After cutting my sim card, it successfully activated on TMobile. The phone works fine. No 3G, but not a big deal.

No more Blackberry, Android, or Windows Mobile for me!

I absolutely love the Iphone 4. Now I know what all the hype was about.
-Typing is easier and a lot more accurate than on phones with 4" & 4.3" screens.
-More apps than you can imagine.
-The bluetooth works flawlessly with my Kenwood head unit. (Very important feature IMO)
-Got my gmail account setup and all my contacts synced. Emails go through quickly
-Camera takes great pictures
-The display is stunning
-Ipod integration makes it worth the price of admission

Of course, you already know this, so I'll stop typing and get back to playing with my new IPhone 4!

Speed is awesome

Screen is beautiful

Battery life seems really poor. Still.

Maybe it's the 3G killing battery but its not ions better than my iPhone 3G battery

Notifications is still garbage
