First International iPad 2 Online Sales Begin With 2-3 Week Shipping Estimates

Best thing about the iPad2 launch is the price of the original iPad, just received my Refurb 16GB WiFi iPad which cost £289 direct from Apple. Received it in 24 hours too :)

Apple usually does this: give you a reasonable ship time when you order, and then ship it faster.

Mine has been April 1st since the day after I ordered it. I just looked and it still says it is scheduled 4/1 with delivery on 4/8. Then I looked closer and it now also says "prepared for shipment."

I wasn't worried about it because I also had it engraved. I figured I would have to wait the full estimated time. Like you said, they typically get things out quicker than the estimates. That has to be one busy factory.
 
I dont understand why no country opened for pre orders on the 11th of march

Is norway where i live the only country that got it right? lol.

I orderd on 11th march, and i got a text i can come pick it up when the store is opening friday. Thats the way it suppose to be.

You can wait in line and hope you get it at 5pm, but the store manager said they wont have enough for people to buy, just the pre order people. But still, i love the idea of having preorders.

I dont have to wait 3 weeks to get one from online. I dont have to wait 12 hours in line outside the store.

I cant believe they are no preorders that i have read about besides here.
 
sometimes its good to live in impatient germany. ppl left the "line" (9 ppl) last time bc they couldnt be bothered waiting longer than 10 minutes for sth xD
 
2-3 weeks for something you want really bad. i won't survice the wait.
I pay for something i want it now or at most in 5 days.
Sorry guys, i will also wait 366 days to get Ipad deluxe 3.
i am not going to lose sleep or be obsessed checking order status every hour

unfortunately this how Apple rolls now. I rang my local retailer and the girl said in a apologetic manner "Sorry it doesn't go on sale til 5pm and actually we don't even know if we will be given any stock until 4:30pm..."

Apple NZ, which is really an outreach of apple singapore, has retardedly strict rules: They dont tell the retailers much, if anything. The retailers are not allowed to even whisper anything that it may be possibly happening, else lose their ability to resell. It makes all apple launches a dogs breakfast. People lining up, no info from the resellers or apple. With the iphone4 launch, people were lining up in the cold/rain, and then after waiting for ages, discover therwere none at all, never was. Its absolutely pathetic, and reason number 485 why I wouldnt line up for any gadget
 
Bought mine online! 32 GB Black Wifi. Actually bought two.

Still going to try my luck at shops... Will sell the online one's, I think the Australian ones still end up cheaper than overseas, and with so many countries without iPad roll-outs in the short-term.. i think I could still sell them on eBay for a good price, maybe $100AUD profit? Opinions anyone?
 
I ordered the 64GB 3G this morning, I don't mind the wait since I have the 64GB 3G ipad 1 at home. I do have someone in the queues for me to see if they can get a 16gb wifi for a wedding gift. ;)
 
Well at 01.05 it's still not showing on any of the CET online apple store websites...

In switzerland is already 1:10AM of 25.3.2011 but I cannot yet order my iPad2!

Why?

I'm also in CH, and no signs yet. I've checked DE, AT, IT, ES, FR, BE and CH apple stores (all in central European time zone), and none are showing them as on sale yet (01.15)
 
Was just about to call it a night when it came up at 01.27. 64GB WiFi White ordered, 2-3 weeks delivery time (Switzerland).

Not sure if this has been noted yet but the shipping times here in Australia have slipped to 3-4 weeks. How are New Zealand and everywhere else looking?
