I’m all for protecting our planet and environment, but Apple is just using that as a perfect excuse to remove accessories and rip us off.

Mother Nature said its best to remove the charger from the box for the environment. Oh no, it’s
totally not to increase our profit margins!

It was only a suggestion, which I agree.
I'd hate it if they included a charger. I already pretty much have charger in every room.

Heh. The iPhone in the unboxing video looks almost exactly like my blue 12 Pro Max until you turn it on and see the Dynamic Island and start playing with the extra side button.

Anyhow, I decided to skip this generation and wait for the iPhone 17 Pro Max with the updated FaceTime and telephoto cameras and sensors, and hopefully smaller Dynamic Island.

I have had some Anker chargers die out of the blue. It seems like they are not quite as well built as the Apple ones.
I have 6 of them now, none have failed so far, been buying them since introduced. No products are 100% reliable but I can guess it would happen. Can always grab an old 20 watter from the “cable” drawer.

I heard that in the iPhone 17 Apple is considering plans to simply slap a shipping label on the phone with no box to make it more carbon neutral.
I’ve heard that the iPhone 17 will use Samsung displays and Samsung cameras. The next Samsung will be using the next generation snapdragon which is faster than the A18 Pro. Rumors say that the next iPhone will be a rebadged Samsung with Apple logo and A19 processor and will be positioned below the S26 ultra.

Similar to the unboxing of the iPhone 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15...with a bonus, less accessories for the money. Yay! 😂
I really don't understand what people expect. Outside of various folding phones that some of us are 0% interested in, nearly everyone is doing variations of their own design style. The smartphone is an established genre, similar to how flat panel televisions, Computer monitors, tablets, ETC are.

Another example of a "Tired" design.

They are the size and shape they are because people buy them. Too small, they don't sell, too big, they don't sell. Folding does sell as it is New but I wouldn't be surprised to see it level off after adoption of gadget seekers reaches full saturation, especially if devs don't come out with compelling apps that take advantage of the size / space.

Not switching. Am I not allowed to criticize Apple?
How dare you to point out any weaknesses of Apple. All Apple does is in the best interest of you. It’s the most innovative, environmental friendly company in the world and has human rights written in it’s dna.

That’s why they’re producing all of their products in China. Which is famous for the well being of their citizens. All the iPhones are also transported by cargo planes all over the world. They do that for the environment.

Keep all that in mind next time you start criticizing Apple 😜

People clowning on this company.
They are selling phones to a AT MINIMUM billion people a year.

Or more expressing frustration than “clowning”

I’d love to give them more money if I could get a new iPad mini and iPhone mini

I’m tired of them homogenizing everything down to the same basic product across all the lineups

Just because they are “killing it financially” doesn’t mean everyone is super happy about what they’re doing and how they are doing it. Opinions have more nuance than that.

Yep, would love to see everyone holding their wallets tight this year because there isn’t much to look out for at Apple.

It’s good to see that preorders have declined 27% related to preorders last year. This years updates feel indeed as a total ripp off. Hope the declining sales will awake Timmy and his shareholders.

So I applaud anyone holding their wallet tight for a better Apple. It takes courage 😜

Hah! That 27% decline is conjecture by Kuo.

That's fine that you feel ripped off. I certainly wouldn't voluntarily let a tech company rip me off.

Except they offer much better technical specifications. Please compare them to the latest iPhones 😎

People just want to go back to the days when smartphones were exciting, when every new release was a major event that people lined up around the block for. Those days are not coming back. I think even Apple wanted to recreate that era with the VisionPro, but that didn't do it either.

There's a ton of Apple competition out there. If people weren't happy with Apple products, they'd purchase superior products from Apple competitors.

Apparently you believe Apple customers are sheep and have no agency over their tech purchases.

I REALLY want an iPhone 16 Pro that would have the same cameras, be the size of the iPhone Mini and have a Thunderbolt capable port!

- Full support for 4K monitors with ability to scale similar to MacOS
- MacOS like Desktop operating system when connected to a monitor / TV / Projector
- Full regular cursor (not the silly iOS dot when you use a pointing device)
- True multi-tasking.

Let me take my Pro-Res video, edit it in Final Cut (desktop class) on my phone. Why do I need to transfer to an iPad or Mac when the phone has plenty of power?

These dang phones have "desktop" class processors, yet even when connected to a monitor, I can't even do Side-by-Side like I can on an iPad mini 6 with a far lesser processor. Nor will the phone properly fill in a 4K monitor, be aware that I want full landscape operation when docked. Those would be pro features for me.

See my post #66 above.

Cool idea but it’s way too big when folded up in terms of the height and width. It needs to do the double-folding but be the same physical size as the 16 Pro and Pro Max, although obviously thinner than them.

I like the double-folding because it actually makes it useful. Single-folding is a bad idea because it does not get you a larger screen for media consumption and that’s the only reason for a larger screen. Because the aspect ration is essentially a square with a single-fold and if you weee watching a movie it would have massive letter-boxing.

With the double-folding it results in a much more useful aspect ratio which would result in a big screen for media consumption.

Clamshell designs that fold downward are 100% useless and shouldn’t be made.

It's getting a bit austere these days. You're buying a luxury priced product, it should feel like it. Not, like the priority is "how cheap environmentally friendly can we make this". Mostly you want it to arrive in good condition with these thinner boxes (but I'm sure they have good engineers for that).
It's a bit like how faux leather PVC is now considered a premium product compared to the real thing and is priced accordingly, after decades of rightly being considered a cheap fake material.

Huawei has dethroned Apple out of the top 5 this year. Since the new iPhone 16/16pro’s can’t compete on technical specifications and Apple Intelligence won’t arrive till somewhere in 2025, I see a further decline for Apple.

If Huawei wasn’t banned over here it would have a bigger market share as Apple. We Dutch like the best for cheap and are famous for that 😎
