Reading your story Justin here in Ireland. You do whatever makes you happy and don't listen to the knockers. Your'e having your moment of fame and you deserve it

Seriously, if it's as hot as the Dallas folks here have been saying, the Apple store should ask him to go home and come back next week, like Wednesday. Or call the cops to ask him to leave if they don't have the authority to do so.

Let me get this straight. If it was Apples property this man was camping on, they WOULD have the authority to ask him to leave. Right? So in the scenario where they DONT have the authority to do this, it would be because the person is staying in a public area like a street or a sidewalk. Yet you would have the authority over the police to have them remove the man from a public area?

I guess thats nice for corporations if they have so much power, but to me that sounds scary as hell. Its scary if Apple even tried.

Anybody else think Justin sounds exactly like

His chance of getting a phone on launch day -- 100%. Your chance -- not 100% (probably still greater than 75%). My chance -- probably 0%.

Actually that's wrong. Justin's chances are about 70% because there might be bunch of things that could prevent him. He could suffer heat stroke, have bad seizure, some crazy can shoot him, get robbed and numerous other things.

Damn so some drunks from the bars were throwing rocks at your tent? some people are just idiots. Good thing you got a security guard, that should deter some of that behavior.

That is insane, but I'm not one to be talking. A few years ago when I was 14, I wanted an iPod Touch SO BAD!!! I had all but $7.73 (Yes, my memory scares me sometimes, too). I thought of everything: Theft, Counterfeit, sale of my brand new $1100 laptop, etc. My dad decided my devotion was unhealthy (I got friends to help me in the "Billionth app download gets an ipod touch, macbook, time capsule, and $10000 itunes giftcard" contest apple held awhile back). So he bought it for me. A year later, and my ipod I considered committing a felony for is next to me, and I'm typing this on my 2004 windows XP with a 20GB HD, 512MB Ram, and USB 1.0 ports. Crazy world, huh?

I will have a hard enough time waiting for 4 hours the morning before launch. Much respect for you...its something i could never do!

Justin,

Sorry to hear that you are feeling hurt. Does it help to split people into two types - those you know you, and those you don't?

It seems to me that those who know you seem to really like you. The folks at the Apple Store have been supporting you from the start. (And everyone knows that Apple have never gone in for cheap publicity stunts - they have your back because of who you are and not the PR). Everyone from this forum that has come down to hang out with you seems to really like you. People from you have met over the years are happy to talk to you. And so on, and so on..

On the other hand, people who don't know you have a more mixed reaction. I think that this says more about people's understanding of, and attitude towards people with disabilities than it says about you. I guess that you didn't take on this experience to learn about this - but it is a powerful learning experience if you are able to separate it from you and not be hurt by it.

But I think that the biggest thing is that times are tough at the moment, and people are hurting, and it seems that there is maybe not enough love to go around. But there are people like me, who you are bringing a smile to the face of, and we are the people that you need to remember.

Carry on having fun.

Well said and god bless your heart!

Justin, i've been following this thread the past few days and checking out your updates both on here and your website. You are an awesome guy and I wish I lived in Texas so I could come hang out with you. Don't let the haters bring you down and keep on truckin! I am a fan of yours! :)

-Emil

P.S.-Are you into bears? hehe ;)
P.S.S-Are you on facebook by any chance? :D

Hey Justin try to get some pics of the delivery truck if you can, then try chatting up the employees moving the big box of iPhones

A thought about those haters

I posted this in a CNET message space link provided

CNET LINK

You know you people make me sick. Someone does something that most of you wouldn't do, and you go ape sh$t. You people that are full of hate just amaze me. You think you are so holy then thou attitude, that he is so beeneth you. It's just a guy that is having fun meeting new people, which is a good experience
. It allows networking meeting new friends with the same interests that are the same of his.

This is what I think is happening here is that you want to join him in his camping trip but can't because of work or other real life issues. Those are excuses, why you just couldn't do it. If you really wanted to do it you could do it You would be right up there with Justin playing games chatting the night away. One person in another message board told Justin that he would camp out with him if he didn't have a kid to take care off. He said he could take the time off work and he would still get paid for it.

For those that would be bothered by being call a 'LOSER' or 'NERD' or 'GEEK'. Let them, they are not the ones that do not understand how fun this outing is becoming. They most likely will not do any thing out of the ordinary. How boring that is that, no fun no spice not living life to the fullest.

Just so you know hey runs his own business he is using his savings to pay for the phone. As for him to be safe, Apple 2 security to watch over him during the night hours. I don't think Apple has them both out each night. As for the day time heat Apple has been letting sit in front of store window inside waving at people going buy. Seem really fun. At least it does to me. For those that call you 'LOSER' that, they are the real 'LOSER' for not doing any thing out of the ordinary.

No there were 600,000 pre-orders on June 15 where were you that day?

Because of the high-demand Apple has pushed orders since Wednesday back to July 14 not the initial release.

As i said, im not getting one right away and i never preorder. No reason to. Is'nt like there is a short supply. Anyways thanks for the clarification.

Just finished reading through the thread..

Have fun Justin, don't worry about all the negative comments.. misery loves company and there are a lot of miserable people in this world!

Wish I could camp out with you, haven't done that since college when I camped out for FB tickets. And lastly.. if I was in the position to offer you a job, it's obvious you're devoted to Apple products.. seems like someone with the ability SHOULD be listening..

Right on, right on!

Good day everyone!

It's Sunday June 20, Day 4 for me camping for the new iPhone 4.

Since yesterday evenings post I finally had the opportunity to use my phone and look at some websites that have wrote articles about me. The comments made by the majority on all of those articles are very heartbreaking and I'v been a extreme disappointed and hurt.

It's amazing how so many people in today's world jump to their own conclusions and speak before they think without knowing the person and/or having all their facts straight. Apparently there are more people out there to hurt to you then I thought.

The top few things I have noticed are the following:

1. Most do not have the respect for those who are disabled regardless of their condition.

In my case. I'm disabled because of my seizure disorder which prevents me from driving and scoring most jobs. This makes life EXTREMELY difficult for me or anyone with the same condition.

Some have asked about how bad my condition is so I would go ahead and tell everyone how bad it is for me sometimes so more will understand and have a little more compassion.

The seizures I have had since young age are non-epileptic and are unknown why I have them. My arms, legs or other part of my body twitch everyday and I have to remain alert as much as possible in case a major one happens. If its major, they are full body and look like grand mal (Tonic Clonic) seizures. They are always longer then 10 minutes and very severe. Some I have had in the past have been 2 hours long. What's more, there isn't really anything you can do, even if I end up in the ER.

In addition to the seziures. I also have 4 other learning disabilities including ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, and Dysgraphia.

2. Some say I should "Get a Life!".

I did write a response to this earlier, but I'm going to say it again.

What I am doing right now is enjoying and embracing life! What life is it you want me to have?

Let me guess? You want my life to be just like everyone else who goes to work (nothing wrong with a job) and/or attend school and then go off to live the "American Dream"?

I understand this might what everyone does everyday, but this crazy world has seemed to forgotten what life is really about! Life is about enjoying and living it to the fullest without having someone else running it for you! Whats so great about life if you spend it doing what others want you to do and not doing what makes you happy for your own enjoyment? Is that what you really want when you only get one chance of living it and not knowing when it will end? I didn't think so!

3. Work and Money

Okay so most of the first media reports you have heard me say I don't work. This is not entirely true, but I don't have a job I do everyday.

I do have my own business I do from home every now and then, but its struggling at the point.

Some have asked what my business is. I prefer not to reveal this right now since in I'm process of restructuring and renewing the business at the point.

There are also others who have just ASSUMED since I am disabled that I am not disability SSI benefits. I have not once revealed or said anything about that I do. Not everyone with disabilities qualified or receive benefits!

I have said many times that I am paying out of my own earned money that will be coming out of savings!

Besides all of this, it's really actually not anyone's business when it comes to these things! If you asked someone random theses question on the street. They will come back and slap you in the face and tell you it's none of a your damn business and its rude to ask in the first place!

Sorry I haven;t gone into details and been off topic about the launch in this posting, but I figured these issues are more important to be addressed.

If you want to keep track of the camping adventure of mine and hear about the latest, you can check out this site me and another user on here have been working on. The website just went live last night! www.iPhoneFirstInLine.com

Hope everyone has a Sunday Funday and Happy Father's Day!

Keep doing what you doing man! Keep yo head up! It's your life, do what you wanna do! Go get that iPhone! Then when u get it, show these young haters that post the negative sh*t about you, how it's done.

Hi all
I am new here, been reading this thread and wanted to jump in and give my 2 cents. I turned into an apple convert about 3 years ago. I bought a Imac and fell in love. I have a macbook Pro, Ipad and Iphone, and ready for the iphone 4.

I dont get these people that want to talk sh-t about Jwagoner.. It is his life and if he wants to stand in line for a week then who cares! I actually camped out for the iPad from 2am to when it went on sale. I really did not care if the iPad was going to sale out or not just wanted to be one of the first to own.

I am guessing the people that are talking sh-t are just jealous because thier lives are soo freakin miserable. It does not matter what jwagoner does for a living and it is also none of our business.

I actually went up to Apple on Knox here in Dallas today and talked with him. He seems like a very good person. Just becauses his idea of fun is sitting in line for a week does not make him an idiot. From talking with him I know for a fact he is NOT there to get his "15 minutes" of fame. His intentions are very pure; to be the first! We are actually going to be joing him either tomorrow or tuesday night. We were not able to reserve one because of all of the problems on Apple and AT&T sites. Its soo sad people are hate thier own lives so much that they want to talk badly about jwagoner!

Obviously we all know there were 600k Preorders, and we know 1 million 3gs were shipped. So we can assume 1 million, if not more, iPhone 4's will be shipped. Doing the math, assuming with the 228 apple stores there are 2500 At&t stores u get about 3000 stores and if you divide that by the 400k phones left each store should have at least 100 extra phones.. I want to have the phone the day the phone comes out and I am willing to wait in line for 2 or 3 days. If you arent then good for you but dont judge people!

Camping out 8 days before release really isn't necessary. 4 days away and still nobody lined up behind him.

You could have been with friends and family all this time. Speaking of which, where are they? Do they not visit you? :apple:

life is not fair. i had to learn that and in the real world there are people who care and dont care. w.e or not i think a week is crazy for a phone yes but if in your eyes its fun then go for it. dont listen to what people say. personally im going to camp but just overnight to make sure i get one and people call me crazy for doing that lol

right ON! Damn, some people might think a Vacation to Idaho is fun but I would not spend a week in Idaho. We all have our own opinion of what is fun. I still think people are JEALOUS!

I agree with you on that but going to an extreme guarenteed him the number one spot in line. We area actually going to be joining him tomorrow or tuesday night. I love my TV/ Bed and electricity to much to be there for a week!

Nobody had any way of determining when the lines would start. After talking to Justin he made his decision after reading the news stories about the pre-order fiasco. He felt that the lines were going to start much earlier and get much longer this year. Perhaps he jumped the gun a few days, but he made a decision and stuck with it. No big deal. No reason for us to worry about it.

He's had tons of people, both friends and strangers coming to visit him.

Some people actually enjoy accounting and do it for a living! I think they're crazy! Hahaha...but they think I'm crazy for working in IT. They just don't understand it.

Everyone has different definitions of what they enjoy or hate doing in life. It doesn't make our answer the only right answer just because we can't comprehend somoene else thinking differently. It makes it an opinion. And you know what they say about opinions.

lol, me too... If I was still back in college and on summer break all my friends and I would be out there camping like it was for a rock concert having a blast!

I feel bad for the guy since he's alone most of the time, not counting the idiots who ask him what a 4G iPhone is all day. :p

Hey Justin,
Just checking in to see if you made a daily report... Just re-read what you wrote this morning because Komrad808 quoted it above. This is my favorite quote of yours. I was wondering if I should add it to my signature but thought it might be too much...

You should get a t-shirt made up of that quote... First bit on the front - last bit on the back. You could even use a pair of boxer shorts for the back of the last bit:D

No they shouldn't. This moron should get no special treatment.

I totally agree man, the illness he says he has shouldn't be bad enough to stop him from working entirely, I mean, a Mickey D's cashier or SOMETHING dude.... But as far as special treatment goes, just having this post here that gets a post every few seconds during the day, and having it stickied, and having the press stop by for a few visits, being able to use the apple store's electricity, and being able to use the staff bathroom, is already special treatment up the wazoo lol so I think it's a bit late for him to not get any special treatment. But, now that that's all said, if this is what he choses to do with his life, then let him do it, my biggest problem is he's probably living off of taxpayers to get the job done.

Apparently you didn't read. It keeps him from driving. And public transit in Dallas sucks. You're nowhere w/o a car in Dallas.

Oh, and once again an assumption. For all you know he lives off of a trust fund. Who cares, it's none of your business. If you are against SSI, tell your congressman and vote against it.

Stop judging until you are standing in the mans shoes.
