I was under the impression the Lightning cable supports USB 3.0???
No it doesn't but you can expect about 20% more performance due to the iPhone 5 being faster.
I was under the impression the Lightning cable supports USB 3.0???
-CNET:
"The bad: Sprint and Verizon models can't use voice and data simultaneously. The smaller connector renders current accessories unusable without an adapter. There's no NFC, and the screen size pales in comparison to jumbo Android models."
Sprint & Verizon...really? So other handsets can do this?
Smaller connector/accessories...really? Apple had to change it sometime. Also, do all iPhone 5 owners poses tons of accessories...how about first time buyers.
No NFC. Absolutely, Apple & I are not convinced this is the way to go.
Screen pales in comparison to "JUMBO ANDROID MODELS" **THIS IS A POSITIVE--IT'S A PHONE NOT A TV**
Thinner, faster. But still cannot recieve an attachment modify it and then resend through email.
What good is speed when the OS restricts you from doing anything useful.
This phone will be just as useless as my iPhone 4 and all other iphones I've had.
iOS is garbage. Great hardware, sucky software.
I actually haven't preordered yet but glad I waited. From the reviews it sounds like the iPhone 5 is just the iphone 4SS. Wow, I can't believe they're using USB2 tech for the connector/cable. I guess they're holding back a USB 3.0 connector for the iPhone 6. Oh well I still got time to decide if I really want or need to upgrade my 4.
"Its just too bad about that connector change. Doesnt Apple worry about losing customer loyalty and sales?"
Wow what a stupid comment. Apple has changed their connector less than any other manufacturer yet they get this kind of grief over it. Pathetic.
"iOS is boring"
How is something boring? Just because it works???
No it doesn't but you can expect about 20% more performance due to the iPhone 5 being faster.
Too early to overreact. Antenna-gate is one thing not to notice, but wear over a short period? As meticulous as Apple is, I wouldn't have expected them to overlook such a quality flaw. That said, we have absolutely no idea how Pocket Lint used their iP5. I remember back when CNet was reviewing the Galaxy Nexus they mentioned the phone was dropped several times and that's why the back cover was no longer flush to the device.
Why do you keep buying iPhones then?
"Its just too bad about that connector change. Doesnt Apple worry about losing customer loyalty and sales?"
Yeah whats wrong with these fools. Why I run an the IT of a small medical practice and all of our brand new servers have standard VGA connectors with 8MB onboard VRAM - WHOOHJOOOOO.
How dare these Fruit people think its ok to change ancient ways.
Pretty sure they referenced 3.0 in the announcement keynote, and they've started updating notebook lines with 3.0 back in June - is this really true???
No great shakes either way, but it does limit the concept of making the change a little more... I know they just want to save package space inside the device and that's probably the main reason - would adopting the rest of the mobile market's micro USB standard not be just as small??
I won't. I'm now switching to Samsung. But that doesn't mean I cannot provide my opinion or comments.
Question; do you have a Apple logo tattooed on your forehead?
With iCloud, photo stream, backup and wireless syncing does anyone use the cable for anything more than charging and major OS updates?
----------
Its a no brainer for an iPhone 4 user, not so much for a 4S.
How will these phones look in the store after everyone is using them if this finish is coming off on both black and white models?!
You're not alone. I've lost count of how many time I've heard someone remark, "Why don't you get a real computer." I'll never understand why PC folks are so obsessed with what Mac folks are doing. The opposite isn't true, that's for sure. If they want to use a PC, so be it. We prefer a Mac. We have our reasons.
I guess what they say is true: haters gonna hate.
That's really your sticking point? Syncing speeds via the cable?
Don't you just wirelessly sync whenever it's plugged in within range of your computer?
Sure it's not as fast, but it's not like you're going anywhere at the time.
Strangely enough I don't - I asked as you said this: "This phone will be just as useless as my iPhone 4 and all other iphones I've had." If all your iPhones have been useless but you bought them anyway it seems that you're the fanboy here.
