^This is what the person mean by calling it fake. Everyone can see the plastic.

He was pointing out the missing FCC legal stuff Like person says quote

I still call fake. it wouldnt hide it that much.

If it is indeed a fake, never will I be more disappointed for no actual earpod travel case LOL. Already have my hopes up for such a little detail.

If Jobs were to magically wake up, Ive would be fired along with about 60% of the campus. Probably the worst-looking iPhone ever. In fact I generally think Apple is at risk of losing its edge at lest when it comes to design.

At least 2 million people disagree with you. And if estimates are correct, about 46.5 million will disagree with you by the end of the year. But I'm sure you know better than Jony.

It appears to be on an Apple display table. These photos may have been taken by somebody who works on visuals at an Apple Store.

That may also explain the abundance of greasy fingerprints – a condition that this future demo unit will have to endure for many months before finally being mercifully disassembled and turned into service parts so that I can have an AppleCare+ replacement when I drop my phone in a beer a year from now.

Tint

It looks like they colored the accessories with a tannish color hue. Is that accurate, or an illusion of the camera?

It's slightly tan from the white-balance of the photo not being perfect. It is just the difference of color temperature of the lighting and the setting on the camera. It may appear more tan or less tan depending on your screen calibration as well. Even among Macs, is rare to find a screen that isn't shifted towards one side of the color spectrum or another. This sort of thing is really only apparent by comparing to other screens or a verifiable constant.

Too much information, i know. I like babbling.

Mine was showing prepared for shipping and tracking number was showing the same. I ran my info through the ups site again and found two packages and two different tracking numbers. It's in KY

Flash placement improvement

I haven't seen this posted elsewhere, but I for one am happy about the flash moving further away from the lens [i do wish it was even further away, but it's at least moving in the right direction :) ]. This will help eliminate red-eye w/o software and harsh shadows.

Can't wait to order my 5 - have to wait until October 14th, as I'm on Verizon and don't qualify for the normal pricing until then. Hopefully by November 1st the phone will be in my hands. :)

Pretty simple answer to this. Apple starts receiving the phones days, sometimes even a week in advance. This is obviously at a store, because you can see the Apple wood table. Looks like some employee/back of house specialist, got one that's a demo unit that will be on the floor and went ahead and opened it up.

Yep, looks like an iPhone to me.

Seeing the iPhone 5 as it comes from Apple, really highlights their desire to squeeze every penny from the buyer. That box should contain a Lightning to 30 pin Dock adapter. It would have cost Apple a mere dollar or two to include it, and without it, they've shipped us a crippled phone.

A phone that _cannot do_ everything my previous iPhones could do. That's a sham. No video out, means I cannot use it the way I regularly use my current iPhone. Several times per week I connect it via HDMI to the 65" widescreen I have in my home theater.

Nor can it connect to the portable projector, like I do at work, and other businesses.

First they transition us from MobileMe to iCloud leaving out features we've had all along, and now this. Delivering less, and less, is not what premier companies do. Had Apple decided to include an adapter in the box, it would have provided us with the "premium" experience that most of us expect. It would have made the purchase complete.

The way it is, it's just cheap, cheap, cheap. Oh well, perhaps they're strapped for cash...

I don't know man... I've been an Android user for a couple years now but, this new phone is sexy. I like the white but the black one, oh man, sexiness. I've never had an iPhone, just Mac laptops. I think I'm falling for it :)

Quit whining and buy an appleTV.....I did ages ago and now I don't have to worry about all this dock adapter nonsense. Apple doesn't have to give you anything, nor are they giving you a "crippled phone". For Christ's sake its a $30 adapter!! You had to pay for that HDMI adapter you have now, so why are you complaining about having to buy one now that they've upgraded the connector for the next decade?

Fake

that iPhone 5 is fake because look how the back where it says iPhone look at the way it is written it in bubbly letter and the little writing where it say in designed in Cali and made in chin, well if u look closer it doesn't have it.. so its a FAKE!!!!!

Video or it didn't happen...

Here is a blown up shot of the back, there is no FCC logo...

It's a surprise because the original headphones in other iPhone boxes do not come with a carrying case. But, if you buy a replacement pair at Apple (the same ones), they come with a case in its retail packaging. So yes, this is a nice surprise.

He/she is saying the iPhone 5 page says in plain english that the EarPods will come with the carrying case inside the iPhone 5 packaging.
