I don't know man... I've been an Android user for a couple years now but, this new phone is sexy. I like the white but the black one, oh man, sexiness. I've never had an iPhone, just Mac laptops. I think I'm falling for it

Looks like the apple logo and iPhone font are raised slightly. That would account for the air pockets around them. That's kinda nice cuz it would help reduce scratching on the back of the phone. Especially the camera glass.

mmm...might also mean it wont sit flat on tables...

Mine was showing prepared for shipping and tracking number was showing the same. I ran my info through the ups site again and found two packages and two different tracking numbers. It's in KY

I just checked mine again on UPS.com it's still in Hong Kong, but schedule to deliver on Friday 9/21

Seeing the iPhone 5 as it comes from Apple, really highlights their desire to squeeze every penny from the buyer. That box should contain a Lightning to 30 pin Dock adapter. It would have cost Apple a mere dollar or two to include it, and without it, they've shipped us a crippled phone.

Apple is selling the iPhone 5 in 2012, and it has a redesigned dock connector. They never made any promises that it would work with your old charging plugs laying around the house or anything else you bought in 2009 with your iPhone 3GS.

It ships with an included charger and cable which will be the new standard moving forward and is all you need to operate your newly purchased iPhone 5, so why would they include additional parts to adapt it to an old abandoned standard?

A phone that _cannot do_ everything my previous iPhones could do. That's a sham. No video out, means I cannot use it the way I regularly use my current iPhone. Several times per week I connect it via HDMI to the 65" widescreen I have in my home theater.

Nor can it connect to the portable projector, like I do at work, and other businesses.

First they transition us from MobileMe to iCloud leaving out features we've had all along, and now this. Delivering less, and less, is not what premier companies do. Had Apple decided to include an adapter in the box, it would have provided us with the "premium" experience that most of us expect. It would have made the purchase complete.

The way it is, it's just cheap, cheap, cheap. Oh well, perhaps they're strapped for cash...

It looks pretty real to me. There is an elevation change because of the box so it makes sense that the shadows don't match.

I ordered mine in less than 20 minutes after preorders started (as soon as i could finish the order successfully) and mine hasn't even shipped yet.

The order status for mine on Apple's website shows that it hasn't shipped but I was able to track it via UPS anyways. Go to the UPS website and search by reference. Enter in the "billing" phone number, country and zip code. It will then take you to its tracking page.

Dual Vs Quad

To me, this quad vs dual are today very similar to what used to be Intel Vs AMD in which Intel claimed they where faster because of their higher clock frequency. It proved them wrong that AMD where making processors that where faster with less frequency.

Today, they boast that they have quad cores and this and that... and it could even be that the A6 is faster with duals instead of the four cores.

We dont even know if that is a fact. Apple didn't even made such a fuzz out of it. They didnt bring all this technical glitz. They barely said their A6 where two times as fast as the A5 and moved on... And I like that approach. It doesnt matter if they have quads or not for them. In the end, their choosing has so far brought products that perform very good and barely lag (at least to me).

I preordered my iPhone within the first 3 minutes of ts release. I keep seeing people posting about how there phone is now in NY KC ect..mine still says preparing to ship and has stayed like that since Friday. It however still says delivery 9/21. Anyone else in the same boat?

I thought it was fake, because the back of the 5 is way to glossy, and the shadow of the Apple logo and iPhone on the back just seemed off. Then I realized it had the plastic on the back kind of like the 4 and 4S when it came out of the box. I think it's legit.
