Yes it's an evolutionary step forward.... but many of us will be awaiting the 6 in a year.

:D

Of course. And next year, many of us will be anxiously waiting for the 6s, or the 7, or the…

I think this is a really interesting new crop Apple has put out. I always have liked being on the S cycle for my upgrades, and this year gives me the same feeling. Now I just need to decide whether to jump on the C cycle.

Once the FP scanner works seamlessly with the keychain, THEN it will be revolutionary...

Also, 64bit is useless for now...Thus, a gimmick. A few years down the road, it'll be the norm.

Remember:

Nokia, Dell, critics, doubting dumb phone users, et al that iPhone, iPad are all novelty. No one will really buy / use it! The rest is history.

What did all those Samsung, Android ... "We did it first features" that in the future or at the end of the day are really useless / not really revolutionary.

Throughout the next 12 months, I'm sure with all the updates coming up, the A6 will be squeezed for performance. If not, then iOS 8 will.

I don't doubt that games will quickly squeeze the a6 into submission...What I am thinking is that regular, every day all day use, will be the same. Last year the a6 was touted as a beast of a processor...

I'm hoping iOS 8 DOES swamp the a6...I'm already excited over iOS 7 and pleased to see the a6 handle it adequately...Hopefully iOS 8 has so much to offer that the a7 makes sense then.

I could see my a5x getting swamped soon by iOS 7 and games, thus the iPad 5 should make sense.

Let the hating begin...

(I personally can't wait for my 5C...I think the 5S is great! Just wanted a plastic back)

I'm waiting to hear more. We've heard good things about Siri, too, so I'm skeptical.

Although I'm sure a fingerprint censor is far easier to get right for various reasons (not joking).

And how exactly do you propose to increase battery yield without increasing the size of the battery?

i am proposing a reason not to buy 5s. Ppl will repent after buying it because of battery. There is no way out... ofcourse yes you can survive for few more additional minutes if you put the brightness to the lowest.

SIRI, on my IP5, is screaming fast compared to my IP4s with ios6. So, believe it!

Most people don't need more security than they already had, which is the option of using a password or not. I have no doubt that they will become standard, but most people don't regularly expose their phones to potential use by unauthorized people, so it won't make much of a difference. In the rare event of their phone being stolen, Apple can already disable the phone remotely. So in very rare circumstances it will be useful but it's not game-changing by any stretch.

Actually I think it's more a move to make the iPhone a theft deterrent. I live in a fairly dense city and people basically don't take out their phones when the bus or train stops usually for fear of getting their phone snatched. Between the fingerprint sensor and the requirement of an Apple ID to reset the phone, I think Apple is trying to make it as difficult to flip these phones as possible.

Hell I have a friend who sticks with Blackberry because she knows no one will ever take her phone.

2 years like max??? Where are you getting this number from...? There are still 2+ year old iPhones out there being used regularly everyday. Do they eventually stop being supported? Yeah, but definitely not obsolete.

Ya, they're pretty obsolete.:)

So I guess the majority of the phone cases have come to the end of their life cycles since the home button can't be layered with anything.
