First iPhone 6 and 6 Plus Shipments Reportedly Land on U.S. Soil

Yes the 6+ will fit in side of slacks, cargo shorts, and jean front pockets.

My wife and I went to Best Buy to size up similarly sized phones and there was no issue putting them in any of our pockets.

People do realize that many phones are already this big or bigger and already fit in people's pockets right?

Now, if you are into skinny jeans you may be in trouble. I can't vouch for that though since; luckily, I don't have to worry about that.

Haha no skinny jeans…but with a case on it, it's definitely bulky. My brother-in-law's S5 (ick) with a decent case on it is pretty damn big. I'm not one to not have a case on my phone, but for others without a case, I'm sure it'll feel nice!

Who's SO impatient that they're printing a PAPER iPhone? LMAO.

Wait, folks - it's only a matter of a few days, and if you still can't wait, ask someone to 3D print you a pocket tester :D

You're obviously trolling here, right?

I don't know, maybe some people might like to see how big the phones are in order to pre-order tomorrow?

(And I'll get right on that 3D mockup suggestion, too. Just head on down to the friendly neighborhood 3D printing store and order me up a sample.) SMH

What would have been nice would be some iPhone 6 and especially 6+ models on display in Apple Stores today ahead of the preorder to give us the chance to really see the size differences.

While I do feel that way, at least we have "reference models" in the form of the Note and other Android devices to at the very least give us a feel of the size. The thing I am more worried about is the watch, that is something I really want to see before I buy, but I also wouldn't want to get caught in the "shipping in 3-4 weeks" window by waiting.

Great news, MacRumors. Now fly your UAV to the alleged location and record the movements of containers. Maybe you will get a glimpse of the genuine rear shell.

I believe that for the 5s/c launch, Apple sold several million over the first weekend. I think they need a few more plane loads before they have enough. And then from Chicago it needs to be broken down and shipped to each store and to each home. The logistics is amazing. Let's hope that they will have a least 10 million ready to deliver to our doorsteps or in store for the launch weekend.

The fact that 4.7" iPhone 6 is still freaking larger than 5" phones (like S5 and Nexus 5) makes me throw in a towel and sit out this upgrade cycle. It is simply ridiculous that Apple assumes that overall size is so MUCH LESS important than thinness.

I think it's more of a big deal with the 5.5 (though I wasn't planning on getting that one, anyway, I think the 4.7 is fine regardless). I know why they didn't want to give up on the top bezel - they like their symmetry - but it adds so much to the phone that they really need to get rid of it, or figure out how to work touch ID into the actual screen or something along those lines.

Somewhere, at this very moment, my new iPhone sits nestled in its box, waiting to come to me. Cue Gandalf: "...and that is an encouraging thought..."

UK people, does anyone know how long preorders usually last, there's no way I'm getting my envirofone payment by 8am tomorrow, which is an absolute ****ing disaster, but I need to know if I'll still be able to preorder maybe even 2 or 3 days after preorders have launched, if not I guess I'll have to wait months until any Apple stores get stock back in

Anyone know how common it is to fly this stuff in? I would assume most other things come via cargo ship and flying it in costs a premium but allows Apple to keep more control over security, shipping, times, etc.

I mean, Samsung doesn't fly their phones in do they? Maybe for a launch?

Preorders begin at 12:01 AM Pacific, 3:01 am Eastern, do the math if you are in Central or Mountain. :)

Tonight. Get to bed early!

I agree 100%, and I can't stand the large hulking bezels. But here's the issue in my opinion; from a marketing/branding standpoint, the iPhone facade has become so iconic and so synonymous with Apple, that I think they fear moving away from the current form factor at the risk of confusing consumers and losing further marketshare to Andoid.

(I know Apple's re-designed the iPod countless times over the years, so I'm not quite sure why it would be an issue with the iPhone?)

no way...they have those already.

My guess is that these are for pre-orders that will be delivered on or before release day.

Historically, pre-orders deliver from China. These devices are likely being transported to retail channels for launch day supply.
