Yes the 6+ will fit in side of slacks, cargo shorts, and jean front pockets.

My wife and I went to Best Buy to size up similarly sized phones and there was no issue putting them in any of our pockets.

People do realize that many phones are already this big or bigger and already fit in people's pockets right?

Now, if you are into skinny jeans you may be in trouble. I can't vouch for that though since; luckily, I don't have to worry about that.

You'll just look like an utter plonker taking a call on it!

----------

For those arguing about the plane. China Southern operates varous B-777 cargo aircraft and some airbus A300 cargo variants.

Note the lack on windows on the one though.

Haha no skinny jeans…but with a case on it, it's definitely bulky. My brother-in-law's S5 (ick) with a decent case on it is pretty damn big. I'm not one to not have a case on my phone, but for others without a case, I'm sure it'll feel nice!

I don't understand the need for cases. I've had my iphone 5 naked for 2 years. Looks great. And I've even dropped it a few times.

Isn't the whole case thing left over from the antenna problem when Apple gave out those free bumper cases?

Unless you are maybe a construction worker an need to use the phone outdoors all the time or at job sites, don't see the need for a case.

And supposedly the iphone 6 has even stronger glass or whatever, so it should be more resistant to cracks.

Is there anything else that people buy and instantly buy something else to cover it? I don't get it?

Historically, pre-orders deliver from China. These devices are likely being transported to retail channels for launch day supply.

I know they ship from China, but for previous pre-orders, I know that the carriers get their phones staged at UPS or FedEX before release day.

I took all the security measures for tonight pre-order:
- Check internet speed, check
- Recharge to full my rMBP, check
- Check my upgrade eligibility with AT&T, check
- Wife was instructed to not interfere with my midnight preorder, check

I am ready :D

Do they ship cargo on A380's?

Yes, they do.

Dude, that's not a cargo aircraft. That's a passenger-carrying A380. As far as I know, Airbus has not made a cargo variant of the A380 yet.

I'm the industry, any cargo that is carried in a 'passenger' aircraft variant is know as belly cargo. On an average flight, generally long haul, the airlines make more from the cargo in the belly than they do via paying passengers. So while there is no a dedicated cargo variant of the A380, you'd be surprised by just how much cargo is carried on the passenger variants. Chances are, if the iPhones were actually shipped by China Southern, they probably came on an A380. Or it could have travelled via China Southern Cargo, which would have been a B777 into the US.

While I do feel that way, at least we have "reference models" in the form of the Note and other Android devices to at the very least give us a feel of the size. The thing I am more worried about is the watch, that is something I really want to see before I buy, but I also wouldn't want to get caught in the "shipping in 3-4 weeks" window by waiting.

On the watch, at this point I think I would prefer to wait for Gen 2 or Gen 3 to see what happens with slimming, etc. You have to remember that from the original iPhone to the 3G and even 4 (since 3GS was an incremental) was substantial improvements. Likewise with the iPad to iPad 2 to Retina iPad 3, we saw the same thing. I know when the watch comes out it will be difficult to not want one and so I won't presume to make a decision now. However, I think at the minimum I would want to wait a few months to see what the reviews and early adopters say about it after using it for more than just a few days. I would also like to see what improvements in battery life happen before launch and hopefully over the next couple generations.

Understood...but a lot of people gazelled their phones to fund their next purchase..you will fetch a higher amount the 'newer' the phone looks.

I think last year people had better luck ordering using the iOS apple store app, so you may want to charge up your iphone just in case :)

The fact that 4.7" iPhone 6 is still freaking larger than 5" phones (like S5 and Nexus 5) makes me throw in a towel and sit out this upgrade cycle. It is simply ridiculous that Apple assumes that overall size is so MUCH LESS important than thinness.

There's a .3" display size difference.....

Also, thinness is PART of the overall size. In fact, it makes a rather big difference when you're talking about gripping the phone. The skinniness and thinness mean there's less surface area for your hand to traverse.

People are WAY overreacting to the size....its a few mm in height - that's all.

"Lands on US Soil"?

Geez.. what is this? a Time Machine? or an Alien technology?

Gimme a break!

The 5 inch Samsung is still smaller than the 4.7 inch iPhone.

Here we see a 4.7-inch iPhone 6, 5-inch Galaxy S5 and 5.5-inch iPhone 6.

You have obviously NOT looked at the official specs:

From the Samsung web site for the Galaxy S5
Dimension - 142.0 x 72.5 x 8.1mm, 145g

From the Apple web site for iPhone 6
138.1 x 67.0 x 6.9mm, 129g

Please do a little research before posting wrong information. While not great the iPhone 6 is smaller than the S5.

It's a Samsung S4 on the Picture.

As I wrote, this is a 5 inch phone still smaller than a 4.7 inch iPhone.

And that goes for all the other devices on the market, they all have bigger screens and are still smaller.

As a very rough estimate based on the device weight supplied by Apple, these parcels could hold approximately 720,000 iPhone 6 units or 540,000 iPhone 6 Plus handsets. Apple is reportedly paying up to 200 million yuan for the freight in what may be a single-day shipment record for China Southern freight.

That IS a VERY rough calculation.

720.000 X 129 = 92.880 Tons (Metric)
540.000 X 172 = 92.880 Tons (Metric)

Packaging is most likely about at least *~100 Grams, so you are of by more than 50%.

*Just had my packaging from the 4S in my hand and it weighs about the same as the 4S itself!
