It doesn't make you effeminate, it made your ball effeminate.
If someone walked in that bowling alley, and oddly requested a "front and center" of anyone with a "feminine ball", then the entire alley would have looked at you. Period.

Yet that very pink ball earned me this:

Say what you want about a 'bowling ball' and everyone looking at me thinking that image is everything. But when I threw 26 in a row with it, the results spoke for themselves. I have the ring; you have nothing but talk and your own limiting beliefs.

Listen man, I'm a bowler too. I'm sure you are way better than me. I am not contesting that, I am just trying to say pink is straight up a feminine color. You probably won't admit it, but your friends probably flung off jokes to you about your ball. You probably got that color because of the connotation, in some sort of protest -- I don't know. But at the end of the day, pink is feminine thru and thru.

Just google the word pink, and peruse the front page. Go ahead and get your glimpse of realism for the day.

Are people actually saying that pink has not been the color that is synonymous/closely associated with females..WAY MORE so than with males?
Was pink for girls and blue for boys just a dream that a few of us had?
Are you trying to rewrite history?

Rose Gold (or Pink) is just a color, it doesn't matter of the person who bought it is male or female. I'd be more worried about the tendency for people to not use a sock or bumper on the device in wanting to show off the color, resulting in a lot more devices hitting the floor.

Actually I think you are right about that. It's just a colour and maybe I would get used to it if I liked it, but I much rather prefer the look of pure gold, not even the typical jewelry gold, but like "Incan or Egyptian" kind of pre-columbian pure 24K gold appearance. But everyone can get what they want. And I certainly wouldn't want to say someone is a girlyman because they bought the rose gold model, I don't want to be that guy. It's all good, and nobody really cares that much I don't think.

You mean 3D-Touch :p you force touch an apple watch... i still don't get why Apple called it 3D Touch instead of keeping "Force touch" universal cross devices.

Ummm... because "Force Touch" sounds a little rapey... I predict it will be 3-D Touch for all devices soon, if not already. The fact that they are calling it 3-D for the 6s - this change has already been made. Come on, no one here laughed when they first said "Force Touch"?... Even Leorge Gucas?..

Hardest hooking ball in the late 1990s:

One of the reviews: Bowling This Month magazine named this ball its ball of the year in 1997.

Oh, wait, there's more:

Currently thrown by the DV8 reps in this area, both of which are in the US Air Force, with one doing a tour in Kuwait. Want to call them effeminate?

There's your problem right there. You go off of assumption, when you don't have a bloody clue why someone makes the selections they do. In my case, I went for the equipment that works BEST FOR ME, and gives me the results I want, not how someone will think of me, whether to my face or behind my back. As long as I get the results, their talk doesn't mean a bloody thing... like yours.

So you rely on social concepts of today to base your limited belief. Didn't you just read the post I stated about how it was used as a colour of honour for the British? How it was a colour men wore prior and during WW1?

Mods, we should take this to PRSI now, since the poster here is dragging this to a social issue, and should keep his own limiting social constructs to himself.

It actually used to be pink for boys and blue for girls, once upon a time.

Which is to say, things changes. There is nothing inherent about pink that makes it for women. For most of us when we were younger pink had feminine associations, but the cultural tide seems to be shifting on the color in the past few decades, and ultimately it's just a color. Colors are completely genderless. It's your associations that are gendered, and as I said, associations change.

1. It wasn't a coincidence. I just didn't feel like naming off individuals I know like Edward Rowe or John Kost or Marty Kendrick who wear pink regularly because you wouldn't know them. You know who those celebrities are, so it was easier to name them off... not individuals you wouldn't know.

2. No, pink is a color, therefore it cannot be "effeminate", or as Webster's would put it... "having or showing characteristics regarded as typical of a woman". A color cannot show off "womanly" characteristics. Individuals, however, can hold onto antiquated stereotypes not consistent with the views of modern day society.

3. If you didn't care, you wouldn't have brought it up, and you wouldn't have asked in the manner in which you did... i.e., "men". Also, you don't have to get worked up about this discussion, it's simply a back and forth about color... not "ALL OF A SUDDEN". You asked a question, you got responses, you responded back... that's how a discussion works :) No need to get all... "rose gold"... under the collar, sweet thing. *mwah*

Pink is fine. I don't think the fate of the universe depends on the decision of a heterosexual mans decision to get a rose gold iPhone. They should go focus their 'knowledge and opinions' on more meaningful things.. like why are their men cooking?! isn't that a womans job?!?! how crazy is that..... or not..

people have moved past labeling pink, so should the minority on here that think their opinion to the consumer matters.. bc it doesn't...

ps i have a silver 6s plus.

I believe part of it, at least, was to let people know of the three different levels of touch in the UI (tap, peek, and pop). What's odd about the naming, in that sense, is that the phone can sense a whole lot more than three levels.

I promise you, no matter how many men you list wearing pink (all who are coincidentally entertainment celebrities who can probably wear see through vinyl overalls and still make a "statement"), I can shatter your comparison with the names of females that wear it DAILY.

Lets not lie to ourselves. This day and age, pink is effeminate. Maybe one day that will change. Hell, maybe one day there will be a third gender, and their color will be hunter green. Who knows? But I do know one thing, PINK = FEMININE in today's day and age.

Also, I really don't care what phone anyone gets. But I think its completely ludicrous that all computer chair philosophers rise from the woodworks, and ALL OF A SUDDEN start professing their beliefs that pink shouldn't be tied to a gender, just because they selected rose gold during preorder on an impulse!

The upside down Wu is fantastic.

I'll say this. I have never considered pink/purple feminine. I have been wearing pink and/or purple three to four times a week for at least ten years (though, I have been wearing the colors for much longer).

One of the fun things about working in stores in both the DC and Baltimore areas is seeing different reactions to the color purple. Offer a purple accessory to a man in DC and you run the risk of insulting his manhood. In baltimore, though, it's all about that Ravens pride, and you can't always keep purple in stock at all.

Again, everything is just your perception.

Those are the states with no sales tax, so the scalpers (and everyone else) pay less there.

Wait... So scalper's can go to Oregon and buy an iPhone for $649 and sell it to others for $649 plus their states tax and make a profit? How can you charge tax in a black market? "Hey bro, gotta a brand new iPhone 6s for 694.43, you down?.." Who would pay that when they can go to the store, am I missing something?

I sure hope the 6s/6s Plus don't suffer from the stuttering problems my 6 Plus has. iOS 9 has been slow and jerky since my upgrade, making my iPhone feel like a 2-generation-old Android device!

It's not that they charge sales tax. It's just that they're getting an extra $30~$70 dollars profit margin for whatever they do sell it at.

yes you are..... its not for local sale, but international... taxes are smaller in the states than they are other places (nj = 7%, australia = 10%) you buy them with 0% tax and sell them over seas to turn a profit

Considering 90% of 6s' will have a case, this entire topic is flame fodder. The vast majority decide if they want a White, or Black Screen. Apple should offer every color with a White or Black screen choice. However, it will never happen. :apple:

When I helped my mother in law chose her first iPhone that was what I said to her- do you like the black face or white. She asked about that back and I explained what part are you going to looking at the most. The back is secondary.

Oh hell no, lol, choice of back color? I can't see that happening until there's major changes in the executive structure.

Well, wandered over to the shop. The guy said they'd only sold two this morning, but he and two other staff members would be buying one today anyway. Looked ok. Took me a while to find it as they were still advertised as iPhone 6 - they didn't even have the right posters up!

What shop?

Yeah, I have yet to experiment with 3D at all. Sounds like a pretty big bump "new feature". I know for a fact it will be better than the "new feature" Siri was... I look forward to trying it out on my iPhone 7 with no home button ;)

Yes, this is a bit puzzling to me also.

I have a 6S and a 6S+ coming tomorrow and I ordered "Gold" because I kind of like the colour. In truth, I never see the color of my existing gold 6+ since it is always in a case.

Apple should really make a phone that you can hold without it slipping out of the hand so easily - but that's another topic.

Back the "rose gold" I bought a fair amount of jewelry for my girlfriend and some of it was "rose gold" and yeah "rose gold" is PINK for sure. It's NOT for guys IMHO. Chicks dig it though.

I think sometimes when we, the pre-order fanboys, put our orders in, we maybe select what is "hot". What is the "hot" colour. It was like that last year. If I cared, I could have sold my gold 6+ 128GB last year for several hundred dollars more than I paid. I never did that, I wanted the phone, but I guess if I wanted to suffer for a few months waiting for my latest technology to come I could have sold it - and that' is probably why the "rose gold" is selling so fast.

It's consumerism forces at work I guess.

Anyway, glad people are getting their iPhones as usual.

It's a nice perk up to get a new toy, so enjoy it is what I say!

Why is it not for guys ?

I pretty much said that. Why not just walk into a store? I guess I just don't understand why someone would pay more to not wait for shipping?.. Especially in such a shadey way, I mean it could be fake with a great shrink wrap. People are dumb I guess...
