The first iPhone X orders began shipping out to customers today ahead of a promised delivery date on Friday, November 3, the official launch date for the device.

Apple hasn't updated order statuses from "Preparing for Shipment" and won't do so until later this week when packages begin hitting their destination countries, but iPhone X models shipping via UPS in the United States are in transit and can be tracked using a UPS My Choice account or, in some cases, by reference number on the UPS website.

Tracking by reference often requires a phone number and a zip code, but sometimes the order number minus the last two digits also works. Many of our forum members are seeing their orders on the UPS website at this point, but not every order has been transitioned to UPS as of yet, so it may take another day or two for all orders to show up.

Pre-orders for the iPhone X kicked off on Friday, October 27 at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Time, and orders slated for November 3 delivery shifted to preparing for shipment later that same day and customers began seeing charges on their credit cards.

At this point, pre-order supplies of the iPhone X are sold out and have been since minutes after pre-orders went live. Current delivery estimates for iPhone X orders placed today are at 5 to 6 weeks, so many devices won't be arriving until late November and December. Apple is working to ship out iPhone X models as fast as possible, though, and some customers have already seen their delivery dates improve.

While it's no longer possible to pre-order an iPhone X for launch day delivery, Apple will have iPhone X models in stock at retail stores on November 3, so there's still a chance to get a device without a long wait. Customers hoping to get an iPhone X at a retail store should plan to line up early.

Mine is sitting in Memphis. Sad it could be at my house tomorrow if there wasn’t a stupid artificial hold!

I've been waiting for my order to update through AT&T, it still seems to stay on in progress. Estimated Shipping dates are from Nov. 3-10th.

Hello did anyone have there in store pickups preparing for shipment
[doublepost=1509357381][/doublepost]
same wonder why

Mine is still saying the same thing as well. Hoping for a status update sometime today or tomorrow. Regardless, shouldn’t be a need to worry. Us in-store pickupers should have ours by Friday, but the suspense is killing me lol

Did anyone else have trouble getting an order in? I was up in time for the 3:01 opening only to refresh the Apple Store App till 3:15 to get it to allow me to order. Mine was immediately 2-3 weeks, not Nov 3. I think Apple flips the switch in some areas first over other areas. Otherwise I would have seen the store open and could have gotten an order in at 3:02.

Seems a little misleading to say orders open at 12:01(3:01)am when it doesn't happen across the board....technically they were but it should be a full country roll out. I'm guessing they pick cities that have more population to get them in mass to those areas first and to tech writers predominantly in those areas. S.F, N.Y., L.A., Boston, Chicago, Toronto etc

I was up at 3:01am as well. Kept closing and reopening the app on my iPhone until it let me in. I was able to get mine ordered with a confirmation email at 3:08am. Scheduled delivery this Friday. My best friend did the same thing and was unable to order his until after 3:15am. His shipment date is Nov 17 - 24. Hope his ships sooner than that.

It was pretty much luck when people were able to actually get in and order it.

Still not seeing movement so I decided to track shipments through another method - flight tracking!

https://flightaware.com/live/iphone

This shows the UPS cargo planes giving detailed information about flights and time of arrival, etc.
I'm looking at Anchorage and Louisville, plus flights that are departing from Zhengzhou airport.

ZHENGZHOU XINZHENG INT'L AIRPORT (ZHENGZHOU, HENAN) ZHCC / CGO
Latest weather reports indicate ceilings and visibilities are ok so no weather related delays in shipping.

I had the same thing. I even had the apple store app open at 2:55 and kept refreshing it till it allowed me in at 3:12 and I got my order done and in by 3:15 and it says 2-3 weeks. I am hoping it ships faster than that, but we will see. I am waiting to hear if anyone other than the Nov 3rders have seen movement on their orders. I remember last year the first batch shipped out immediately after pre-orders and the ones that were a week or 2 behind got theirs shortly after launch day. So, I am hoping that the same happens this year.

His experience sounds like mine. Oh well, hopefully it will ship earlier.

That would be sweet. As of now, mine will arrive just as I am flying to Vegas for a conference for a week. :(

I had two phones going at the same time, one worked, one didn't. It wasn't a vast conspiracy.

Mine is also saying "Order in Progress". I think the next status will be "Avariable for pick up" as we will not be able to track the packages going into the Apple Stores.

Verizon shows me a delivery date of today, but FedEx tracking states they have my 2 iPhone X with instructions to hold until Nov 3... I really hope they fail to read the instructions.

HAHA that would be nice!!! The one time they follow instructions would be for this situation haha.

Got mine heading to the AppleStore for collection so no need to track for me this time.
Sad times, I miss out on the FedEx/UPS investigation :(
