I feel the same way about the AirPods. I bought a pair early on and was never impressed with them. The sound is mediocre and they let in way too much background noise. Plus, the battery capacity dropped about 80% after less two years of casual use. For $60, maybe they’d be a decent deal. At $160-200, not worth it to me. If AirPods work for others, awesome! I’m happy with my Jaybird X3s and the $12 off-brand set I bought for running.
Somehow I missed the release announcement and ordered the day after release...shipping day slated for April 2nd.
Awesome, can't wait to get mine. I love AirPods so I will be happy with any improvements. Time to gift my old ones to a family member.
DPD reckon mine will be arriving tomorrow. Hopefully they will as my current pair have started doing odd things like dropping the connection moments after they connected. It took three factory resets to get them working again yesterday.

That is probably true. I would have passed on these but I lost my prior set. That said, used them heavily for conference calls. The improved talk time is a material improvement for my use case.
Mine still says 3/27 - 3/29, ordered on Wed, 3/20. Excited, this will be my first pair of airpods. Wish they had bluetooth 5.
Everybody uses them differently as you say if talk time is important to you then it will be better and worth while upgrading.
Serious question for all of you AirPod owners out there...you do realize that you look like you have what appears to be stringless tampons hanging out of your ears, when you wear these, don't you? It's quite hilarious!
I am really not that excited about a "Hey Siri" feature. My Apple watch has it and its super annoying when you say a similar sounding phrase in conversation to have Siri interrupt you and say she cant find the last two sentences you spoke on the web. For some reason I don't have this issue with "Hey google", perhaps something about the english language where there are more "Siri" sounding words than "google" ones?

That’s quite a coincidence as I always thought that people wearing EarPods looked like people that had left the strings dangling down from their tampon earmuffs
New Jersey here. Ordered about 30 mins after they went live. Have a scheduled delivery for 3/27.
Oh I agree completely. The EarPods go in the trash immediately after unboxing my iPhone!
I'm also in the mid-east, and I ordered about 40 minutes after they were announced. I still have "Preparing to Ship" with a March 27 - 29 arrival

Totally disappointed for the lack of a black version. Why?! It's not like 2005 when Apple pushed the white earpods as a status sign and as a marketing lever (and it worked great, before Apple there were NO white earbuds/whatsoever on the market). But now? Still this white stuff? Come on.
I just receive a notification on my iPhone and a text message from DHL. My AirPods will arrive tomorrow.
