Purchased the first gen on day one. The AirPods sound good enough to me, a non-audiophile and I must be one of Apple's chosen race of people who find the ear pod design fits their ears just fine. I run with them all the time and they have fallen out ONCE. It turns out, the ear pods with the cord I was previously using would fall out of my ears because of the cord. Without the cord, these things work great. While the W1 chip wasn't perfect, it felt like magic when it worked, which was most of the time. The case was a great idea to charge the buds without having to open a little micro-usb flap like another pair of bluetooth headphones I own. The AirPods aren't/weren't perfect, but they might just be my favorite Apple product. They are so convenient.

I ordered the 2nd gen and they will arrive Wednesday.

Will have to hear some reviews before I become interested. The battery life on my current pair is getting worse by the day. Partly my fault, but I also had them since they came out.

Some websites state a release date of tomorrow, 3/26/19. What are the chances they start popping up in stores in the morning?

You must be a real Apple fanboy to be buying something that's way way WAY overpriced.
More than 200,- for some simple earbuds with limited features that don't even sound great with music. Let alone fit your ear without falling out. What are these fanboys thinking??

Paying top money for overpriced headphones with noise cancellation etc. I can somewhat understand. (I payed 380,- for a Sony headphones and even more for Studio headphones). But 200,- for a product that shouldn't cost over 100,- is just madness.

For conference call use, they are the most useful device I could imagine. I've had mine for 2+ years, and probably been on 1,000+ calls in that time. At a penny per call, it's absolutely worth it.

Serious question for all of you AirPod owners out there...you do realize that you look like you have what appears to be stringless tampons hanging out of your ears, when you wear these, don't you? It's quite hilarious!

This is not a serious question, your post is trying to elicit negativity. No one, and I mean no one, cares what somebody else chooses to wear for some Bluetooth earbuds. What I find even more entertaining, is those who pedantically are concerned with what somebody else chooses to wear for some earbuds.

Mine should be here Wednesday, it’s my first set so I’m excited to try them

160 for convenience and unique features. Those studio or Bose headphones are cool too but I can’t fit them in pocket.

Always interesting when a ton of people downplay the look, price, or performance of a product just because they don't like it themselves. You have every right not to like a product, but respect someone else for having a different opinion of a product. There is no wrong choice as it's up to ever individual to decide what they value in a product. For me, I love the simplicity, the sound is good enough, the touch controls are great, the integration with my Apple stuff is nice to have, and the battery lasts about 3 weeks for me. I am sure it won't be a huge difference from version 1 to 2, but I am happy with any improvements as they are one of my favorite Apple products.

Mine are going to be delivered tomorrow! :D loved my first gen Airpods, these things are really good.

That’s your opinion. Others would think 380 (of whatever currency you’re talking about) might be a lot for headphones too.

Perhaps they don’t fit your ears well but they’ve sold an absolute boat load of them and people love them, so they’re doing something right. They’re convenient and easy to use and people will pay for that.

From consumers’ survey, AirPods is one of the Apple most loved product in modern era.

I love mine. That’s why I’m buying 2nd gen.

I must be a real Apple fanboy.

I already wrote the price I pay for headphones are already very high but that the reasons are very different in comparison. The Sony headphone I bought is the best noise cancellation headphone on the market therefor the most expensive. The studio headphones I bought are designed for specific situations and that's a tiny fraction of the headphone market.

The Airpods can't be compared like that. Apple sells these Airpods with massive profits. Even at 100,- their profit margins would still be healthy enough. The features offered and costs for production don't justify the price, only their monopoly position does as Apple doesn't allow other companies selling airbuds offering the same features.

So again.. My opinion isn't that the Airpods are a bad product but only that they are way overpriced.
It's fine to be an Apple fanboy, It's fine if Apple want's to be this greedy. Just don't deny it is what I'm saying.

Have you been living on Mars the past few years? Seriously :p

Seeing so many people wearing AirPods these days is the so what of the week.

agreed. and when they announced the first version of this I thought they were the most stupid thing in the world. until I tried them. Airpods and my Watch are the most used apple products I own. sure they are not perfect but for what I need, how much I can get out of the charging case and they sit in my pocket and don't take up room... they are perfect. BUt I do want them in black :)
