First New AirPods Orders Now Shipping, With Deliveries From Tuesday

I ordered late in the day when these were announced, so I have an April 2-5 delivery date right now. All of my Apple products have shipped early, so maybe they will get them a little early at the end of the week.

This will be my first pair of Airpods so I'm excited. I wasn't a fan of the Airpods when they were announced, but after trying them out when I got my girlfriend a pair as a gift last year, I was sold on them. They are comfortable and the charging case really helps convience wise. I often use the earbuds that come with the iPhone when I'm out and about, and I'm happy to switch them out with the Airpods. I'll still use my Bose SoundSports for the gym, which I think have better sound quality but are not headphones I want to be wearing throughout the day (plus battery life is an issue).

It's funny you say that. I HATED both the Apple Watch and Airpods when they were first announced. Over time once I saw them in public and took a look at the Apple Store eventually, I opened up to them both. Ended up with an Apple Watch Series 2 and can't imagine not having one now.

I love my Apple Watch and I imagine I will be getting a ton of use out of my new Airpods.

Serious question... Have you ever seen a tampon?

This line of criticism has no impact because most adolescent boys can’t afford AirPods anyway, and most people who can are worldly enough to know better and confident enough to not care what tittering teenagers think.

Bizarrely, I’ve not been following the updates and after my Beats X died last week and I’ve been frustrated as hell going back the wired versions I noticed the AirPods had finally been updated and took the plunge.

Seems like mine are arriving tomorrow morning

I guess we can go back to stringed tampons... corded headphones with 36" of wires hanging from your head!

When did we decide... as a society... that having cables hanging from your head is a good look? :p

Though I've never worried about what other people think about my headphones.

My AirPods come Wednesday!

I would love them in black, but I am thinking Apple wants them to remain white for marketing reasons. We'll see though. Agree with your initial point though - it's really the same with all Apple products. You look at specs or individual features and they may not seem all that great, but when you use and experience the product daily, the costs are worth it.

also, how is stringed tampons better than stringless?
you do realize 5 years from now people with cabled EarPods will look like dinosaurs, and really really odd?
that's how new $h*t works. as soon as everybody does something, it becomes normal.
they look sleek and clean. EarPods with cables are evil and look cluttered
 
So Apple says my Airpods have shipped and gives me the UPS tracking number and says it will be delivered Wednesday but when I check the tracking number on UPS it says it won't have a delivery date until they receive the item and it hasn't updated since the 23rd! I tend to believe the shipper over Apple since they are the ones actually delivering the package.
What gives with this?
Anyone else seeing this as well?

I probably need to do a comparison between my old and new pairs, but they feel a little different in my ears? I think the sound is a bit better. It's not a huge difference though. The Hey Siri works great.

Your analysis of headphone usage is very narrow and you seem to be offended by AirPods just for its size and its price. You seem to think simply if something is small it should be cheap. We all know this is not true for electronics (looking at how hard Intel try to make their x864 chip smaller) but that's another topic.
What I want to tell you is I have Bose QC35 one of the best noise cancelling headphone. It cost 2X of AirPods and it sounds great yet after a week with AirPods I disconnected the Bose from my iPhone. Never using it again with the phone so your theory that we should use the best noise cancelling and best sound headphone in every situations couldn't be more wrong.
If your mind is open I can share my experience why but I doubt yours is.

Same. Ordered on release day (non-wireless) and got the March 27-29 delivery dates. Got a tracking number with UPS this morning but still says "Shipment Ready for UPS". Guess I will be getting it on the 28th.

Mine arrived today, too (Australia)

Agree that the sound seems a little different, kinda feel a little weightier and stable in-ear, too.

I don't think that the sounds exactly better, though - just different. they seem a little more sealed and makes it a little muddy.

They arrived prior to the iOS update, so the popup to set them up mentioned something like 'setup with reduce functionality, or update software'... The update button kept crashing my springboard because there was no update, lol.
 
Delivered 11:33 today by DHL - estimated delivery was 11:30-12:30.

Set up the dock not opened the AirPods but there's no picture of airpower on the back.

Apple’s site says mine should arrive tomorrow however on the UPS site, they are still showing as Ready for UPS. Is anyone else seeing this?
