should of made it more about the process behind the making of Find my iPhone and titled it "Dude, Where's my iPhone?"

An honest opinion would be from someone that's never seen Ashton in a movie or tv before.

I've just checked his IMDB entry, and I've never seen any of it! I know who he is, but have never seen anything with him in.

I thought he did quite well with the voice, the facial likeness seemed good, but he was not so good with the mannerisms - he looked a bit stilted.

But personally I think visual likeness is not anywhere near as important as many posters here are saying. I'd much rather an actor who nails the person than one who nails the look.

The actual delivery though, was pretty awful, and he had too many telegraphed 'acting' expressions, trying to tell the audience what to feel. Not helped by the script/direction in this trailer at least. Maybe the movie itself will be better.

(I watch a lot of movies, but not that much mainstream American stuff, so I'm probably not comparing him with what the majority of commenters are, so take my comments with a pinch of salt.)

Too many people here are basing their preconception of the film off of Ashton's impression of Steve. That's not really the important thing. Was Jesse Eisenburg a spitting image of Zuck? The real question is whether the film is able to tell Steve's personal story in a compelling manner that does justice to its scale.

To me the answer is probably not. I knew the moment I saw the Social Network trailer that we were in for something great, because it clearly had vision; perspective. By the trailer, it looks like this film has taken the story we all already know and churned it into a formulaic, surface-level observance of Steve the character and not Steve the human being.

Yes, we see he gets ticked-- but what really makes him tick? What kept him up at night? what made him sweat? What did it really feel like to be in a room with this man? It's doubtful to me that this film answers these questions in a profound way.

I could be wrong, but my feeling here seems to have been reflected by the reviews that are already out there.

Jobs (Apple) way back: ....here's to the crazy ones, the misfits...the rebels.

Apple now: After exploiting poor people some more in foreign country's, Now can we take your money please for overpriced designer Itoys for hipsters and cocky rich kids...we give you outdated hardware and tell you its great and twice as fast as the previous version...

What i hate about these so called biographical movies is the straight up lies and painting the picture perfect, sure he was a great guy but people tend to forget that it was always about the money. These guys would have literally drove you over with a truck if you was to block their road to success.

I agree with everything you just said. Thank you for the different perspective.:)

The original clip wasn't very exciting.

After hearing Ashton and Josh Gad talk about it at MacWorld it really affirmed that Ashton was a great pick based on his knowledge of Apple and his respect for Steve Jobs.

This trailer is really the icing on the cake that says to me this movie is going to be incredible. I really loved Pirates of Silicon Valley and frankly I felt that the acting in that movie was great. This movie looks like it takes that and elaborates on what they already covered.

I for one will be seeing this on opening night.

lol, 'inspired by true events'. hollywood speak for its total bulls***.

if you want 'steve jobs is... the terminator' watch this for the lulz.

probably need to wait for the walter isaacson version for something more down to earth

Yeah, the trailer looks much more promising than the previous materials we've seen so far. But the big question is: is it only because the good scene transitions, or the movie is actually good.

Anyway, watching this made me a little sad again. I miss Steve, and it's a shame we will not be able to see what he could've done with Apple in the next 10-20 years if he was alive... :(

Very, very true. His work feels so unfinished. While everyone now is trying to figure out how to make everything we have a little better, he would have already been on top of the next paradigm shift. He was the only person who knew when enough is enough and had the balls (and the world's trust) to take the steps necessary to move us from here to there on a dime.

It's not as if progress will halt without him, but it's quite like trying to navigate a deep sea submarine and losing your best light.

No, but IMO he is a much better actor.

That said seeing this movie is a given: good or bad I am seeing it.

Like others my main issue is the voice. It does not sound like Jobs and has that Kutcherish mid-west wanna be hip sound to it. Nothing like the real Jobs IMO. Could have a used a better voice coach.

Whoever did the casting for the film should be par-boiled, covered in honey, and staked to an ant hill (proverbially speaking, of course). Compare this drivel to Pirates of Silicone Valley or The Social Network, and even those movies are only so-so. What a disappointment....

I lose it when he says "I'm gonna make Apple cool again". It looks alright, but he really doesn't sound like Jobs and it seems that they're overdramatizing certain facts such as his love life.

No, but IMO he is a much better actor.

Yeah, that's my point.

I feel as though if the filmmakers were boneheaded enough to pick Aston Kutcher to play Jobs just because he LOOKS like him, the choice is symptomatic of a much deeper issue with this project. It's not about looking or sounding like him. It's capturing the twinkle in his eye, the rage in his voice, his innate ability to charm anyone into anything. While maybe he could have nailed the voice with more practice, it's doubtful that Kutcher could ever mimic these qualities.
