I think he's much more likely to have been describing the inner box which the watch will actually be in: that fits with him describing the SS box as 'white plastic with felt lining' and the Edition as having the MagSafe built in. The box we'll actually see is white cardboard, and similar across all three lines (apart from perhaps the Sport being longer and more oblong than the square SS/Edition boxes).

Not 100% sure, but I think that would make sense.

Fair point. Not entirely clear why they'd have a clear top on the inner case only to stuff it in an opaque box. But certainly a possibility.

Does anybody really know what time it is??

I guess the same is happening in the UK i.e. the UK orders will NOT dispatch (and be trackable) from China but will dispatch from a UK distribution centre.

If it is anything like the iPhone 4s, we will see the UK orders change to "Preparing for dispatch" on Wednesday and then "Dispatch" on Thursday for delivery on Friday.

Fingers crossed for the UK! Come on Apple, think of your colonial masters first

Looks like more click-bait like yesterday's iMac shipping slip post. Headline sounds like something happens but when you read to the end....nope.

Is there a source for pre-orders actually moving to distribution centers, or purely speculation?

It could be slipping because Apple is buying up so much airfreight space. There was a report when the iPhone 6, or maybe 5S started shipping out that Apple had bought up so much airfreight capacity it was delaying other companies from getting shipments out. That's what I first thought of when I read of the iMac shipping time frame changing.

There's limited capacity in the grand scheme. It's not like ocean freight.

I ordered the SS 42mn with a black sport band

Woah... that is rough. Maybe it wasn't available for launch, either. We ordered a 38mm SS w/black sport band and it is first wave for shipments. Ordered it at 12:06 Pacific.

I sure hope my delivery date changes from May 13 - 27. My confirmation email was sent to me at 3:09 Eastern. I ordered a SS 42mm. Come on Apple!

There was that one fellow who created a service to e-mail blast a list of folks as soon as the status of one of the persons on the list had their status changed. The thread was removed though; I'm assuming the folks here decided to report it for being too sketchy - you had to provide e-mail address and order #s, which is how the API call works. But I digress, anyone wanting auto-refresh can easily set up an IFTT service and provide notifications for when the order changes - it's almost the same as what that earlier person provided.

Hey,

I'm trying to set up an IFTTT recipe so I will notify me when the order status changed but can't work it out.

Would you be able to help me please?

BTW- Nothing changed here on the Watch or charging cradle!

Thanks

I just wish my date would improve. Why can't they do better than 4/24 to 5/8 now with less than 3 days to ship for delivery on the 24th. They know when I ordered it and how many they are making. They should be able to start narrowing it down as we get closer to launch. If I don't have a chance for the 24th than move that date out. If I'm border line than lose the 5/8 and move it closer.

Looks fake... what are they including in the box? A lightsaber? rofl.
..or perhaps something else.

Never mind, I was posting to say that I was charged for the apple care on my watches, but realize now that was for something else we bought. Below is what I see when I log in. My watch is still Available to ship for the end of May, but my wife is pushed all the way to JULY.:eek:

Processing Items Available to ship: 4-6 weeks
Delivers: May 14 - May 28 by Standard Shipping
Apple Watch 38mm Stainless Steel Case with Link Bracelet
Services and Support

Processing Items Available to ship: July
Apple Watch 38mm Stainless Steel Case with Soft Pink Modern Buckle - Large
Services and Support

I ope that date changes for you both.

I foolishly placed my two watches in separate order with 1 minutes away. Hope they can arrive on the same day instead of maybe one on 4/24 the other on 5/8.

I hate myself for ordering one of these... I don't need one, I have mixed feelings about the whole concept, and yet... I clicked "add to cart" 15 min after launch. So here I sit, waiting anxiously until June for something I'm not even really sure I want but am still not getting fast enough...

Headline easily comes across as pre-orders shipping to customers' doors. Either way, MR articles seem to have the devil in the details lately.
That's the reason a headline is followed by an article. If all the details were put in the title then it wouldn't be a title, it would be a bold faced article...

In this case, you have to read all the way to the first sentence of the article to clear up your confusion.

Shipments have started according to a reliable source. There's nothing misleading about the title-- people just don't understand the shipping process and jumped to a conclusion before learning more. It's not like Apple just walks out to the corner of Infinite Loop and De Anza and drops a million watches in the mailbox-- there's a rather extensive logistics chain aimed at delivering everything on a specific date.

The watches have left the warehouse, which I would agree is the start of the shipping process.

Misleading headline, Macrumors. Clickbait to the max!
It's only click bait if you have to click. All of the information is right there on the main page, no clicking was required unless you want to click the comment link to come here and complain about how you had to click the comment link to come here and complain...

Look into recipes for using Wordpress for making HTTP calls. The last I heard, you should still be able to send a URL to the body of a Wordpress post and have IFTTT make the call. I don't believe Apple has an open API for retrieving order status information though, so I won't be able to go into this for you.

Incidentally, I am curious as to how the Deliveries app that's been mentioned around here does this. If the API call is indeed not open, then JuneCloud must be skirting around Apple's usage policies.

good luck beta testers

see you at version 2 with better battery and a faster GPU/CPU

Yeah, cause the Watch does all the processing anyways, right....

Just wait until you're on your deathbed to buy one, so you KNOW you're getting the best product you can get... I mean, that is the best time to shop if you want the fastest.
