SERIOUSLY? I cannot imagine ever having so little to do in my life that I would haunt the message boards for a product I do not want. How many of us who WANT and are excited about our Apple Watch have spent ONE minute over on an Android or Pebble board bragging about our indifference to their product?

It's human nature. It makes us feel better about ourselves.

in addition to the watch i ordered a second charging cable - it now says "preparing for shipment" the watch says "processing item".

I got an american express notification an hour ago that I was charged for the magnetic charging cable. Hopefully I'll get another one in the next 48 hours when the watch prepares to ship.

I just got a pre-authorization from the Apple Online Store on my credit card. They obviously are getting prepared to ship. Hopefully my delivery date is closer to 4/24 than the 5/8!

And lastly Apple is trying something new with the way they are distributing the Apple Watch with an all online release only which means more stress on their systems which means unforeseen things, like data perhaps not aggregating properly or the likes.

Actually, online only is easier on their system since they don't have to divert any to the stores. Plus they can run it as built to order, instead of making too many of one kind that are not needed.

Agreed - I don't get it. I rarely go to the Android sites - and I would never write a post to their boards mocking them. They like their products and I have no problem with that. In what way does that hurt my life?? Only someone with tons of free time on their hands and a hatred of EVERYTHING does stuff like that.

My Apple stuff always comes through the States. I assume our watches will be distributed through the US centers.

For Canada, do you think that slows down order delivery past the 04/24 date, or has apple/courier figured out the extra time to distribute across Canada?

Don't know if anyone has posted about this yet..

But for those who have had their watches ship, FlightAware still has their iPhone Tracker site available, and it is tracking Apple Watch shipments. So if you're jonesing for your watch and would like to know where it's at, here you go:

Looks like some are already on their way to the US.

"While bulk shipments have indeed begun, according to our reliable source, and pre-order statuses should reflect that very soon, we have since changed the title to "First Wave of Apple Watches Begin Moving Ahead of Friday's Launch" to ensure that the article is not misleading."

.... and i am still miss-lead :D

fact is, i "saw" the other one,, that mislead me :p

Dam u MR *shakes fist*

This reminds me of Star wars .... Let the first wave begin :D

I would still like to know of there are no more try-ons, no walk-ins, and only online pre-orders, then u would expect to be able to take it back if the watch strap isn't the correct size. (as least be able to ship the band back)

I agree in general, but the second part you wrote about "built to order" doesn't seem to be true, at least for this pre-launch. Some configurations were pushed back much faster than others (e.g., leather loop vs. white sport band). I've mentioned it in other threads, but it almost seems like the bands are more constrained than the actual watches... unless they were already packaged together, which seems unlikely.

The article references US distribution centres,

Being in Canada, do the same rules apply for 04/24-05/08 shipments? Are the Apple Watches likely being sent to Canadian distribution centres in preparation?

We can assume yes

When I get mine I am sure I won't be alone in being a little sad...
But there will be new things to excite us. I'll be waiting for the first "stolen watch" stories. Remember how popular stealing iPhones got for a while? Even the watch bands are worth a lot, regardless of the watch. Milanese loop, $150 retail, sell it on EBay for $100, utterly untraceable. Stole a $17,000 watch? The band alone is retail $7000.. I'm of course not getting a gold one, but still, I'll be wearing long sleeves for a while.

I don't think so. I think I got my iPad Mini 1 on launch day. I suppose each release is different. If I actually got an April 24th date (I'm in mid-May), I wouldn't be surprised to get it that day, or maybe the next business day because I'm out East.

But the real problem is that people assume so-called "Apple hater" as an Android(or other platform) users. Most people on this site(including myself) own atleast 1 Apple products. And we, as a consumer, have every right to judge and complain about the products we use or buy. Just like what you stated above, i dont care if Sony or Microsoft F up their new product. Because i have no interest in them. But when the youtube video of iPhone Bendgate showed up? I went furious. Because i actually paid couple thousand dollars to buy 4 iPhone 6 Plus.

If you think people who complains about apple products are just other platform users who has too much free time going around Apple forum, you are right to be called isheep.(in a bad way)

I preordered right at 3:00 AM Eastern, right when they became available yet my deliver date is May 13 - May 27.

###

Me too brother, It took me 15 min. to get the "Were Updating" screen to go away and let me order. Black Sport, May 13-May 27. Hope it comes MUCH sooner!!!!

I spoke to someone at my local store who said he was surprised by how popular the watch had been. Then he asked me if I wanted to try on a watch, saying there was a spot free 'in 5 minutes'. I don't know if that's efficiency or shows not many people are trying them on yet. It was last Saturday and the store (and watch area) was crowded.

I ordered mine and then scheduled a try on appointment. Was disappointed. Really thought the appointment was going to be a lot more informative about the features and such. Instead it was just a try it on and see how it looks. I really thought it would be a truly interactive demo and such. Instead the demo watch they let me try on was pretty much non functional, even the stuff it was supposed to let you do, didn't work. very sad :-(

There you go, is everyone happy now and can go back to regular life for a few days?! Everyone here is freaking out but are quick to forget the pre-order schedule of the iPhone 6 launch.

I definitely agree with you.

Not to mention...many of us aren't originally Mac people. A large portion of us were introduced to Apple post iPod/iPhone.

Some of us have been on the other side and talking about our concerns. When the Moto360 has some features the Apple Watch doesn't have, it's natural for people to compare. It's an existing product you can buy.

Apple does make odd choices at time. But so does Samsung.. it took them 5 years to finally use premium materials in their devices. There's a difference between voicing frustrations and being a troll.
