Good news :)

My launch day 3:12 am order for a space black model, just shipped.
"Shipment notification" email was sent 10 min ago. Delivers tomorrow! :D

So, wherever it comes from, has to be one day overnight. UPS tracking number not active yet.

My 42mm stainless steel Apple Watch with Stone Leather Loop changed to Preparing for Dispatch this morning and Shipped tonight.

Where does Apple ship from in the UK? My estimated delivery on the tracking is the 25th May. Can't possibly take that long unless they're being very environmentally friendly and sending a guy on a bicycle. (And my mum sent a parcel 370 miles from Glasgow to Oxford yesterday evening and it arrived this morning.)

Update: Tracking site says expected delivery tomorrow (14/5)

Maybe they upgraded the bicycle guy to a shipping by pigeons, to make it quicker ;-).

Shipped...

Just got shipping notification and confirmation email from Apple within the past half hour...

Ordered in the first 10 minutes of launch, was promised 13-27th of May. So the 14th is pretty good. Sadly I won't be home until Friday.

hurry up, i can't wait

i ordered my space black 42mm on april 11th and its still processing, i should of gotten up at 3 am

Mine switched to "Preparing for Shipment" as well, overnight.
Minimal chance, but I wonder if it will arrive Fri or Sat?

How long will it take them to prepare thousands of these for shipping?
Does it mean they just took a huge delivery on US soil?
Or is preparing: we're now putting these in a container, one at a time, and are getting ready to put them on a plane in CH?
Then UPS/Fedex from East or west coast? 2 day shipping?
...?

More questions than answers, but finally things are starting to happen.

By the way, funny thing is, as detail oriented and smart Apple is, that the order page literally reads: " Preparing for shipment. Available to ship 4-6 weeks. " That'd be a heck of a long prep time.

I called apple this morning to see if they could give me any additional information about my actual ship date (delivery window is May 13-27). I was told that my watch (42 mm SS, black sports band) would probably go out today or tomorrow from California with expedited shipping. That all sounded encouraging, but no action yet.

What time frame were you given?

Staying up till 3am and then being unable to go to sleep till 4:30, due to caffeine consumption, screwed my system over for a few days. Hope this is the last time Apple pulls one of these stupid midnight CA launches, but anyhow, doubt I'll ever do it again, because it still meant a 4 week delay.

Hey guys! Long time caller, first time listener...

Have any brown modern buckles shipped yet? I ordered SS large brown modern buckle at XX:12 and just trying to gauge where shipments are up to at this point :D

Touche. I stand corrected in regards to the actual term "American dollars." However, I doubt you'll hear a Canadian or a Mexican acknowledge themselves as an American citizen, but rather a member of an American population, and even so would be inclined to include "North" or "Central" in their designation.

I know many people who were born in the US, even for generations, from foreign ancestries, who still call themselves Italian, Spanish, etc. That doesn't make it "right" or "correct".

People may say they are not "American" to prevent confusion from those who may confuse someone born in the USA. Mostly because they are lazy, ignorant, or both.

The lack of respect for ones country, being proper in language, etc..., is causing this world to crumble. We are "dumbing" ourselves and the legal system, media, etc is excusing it.

----------

Yeah...America was America before Mexico was independent. "United States" describes the type of polity, America the place name. By your logic, "Spanish" should refer to Mexican, Chile, Peru, etc.; but it doesn't, and few would argue as such. You can call yourself American if you want, and everyone will shrug and wonder who you are in the English language American dialect, because, well, that's simply not how our language is spoken (and I believe also the Queen's dialect too).

For instance, Colombian refers to someone from Colombia. Brazilian, from Brazil. No one calls the Brazilian "Portuguese" when there is an undisputed country called Portugal which means, well, land of the Portuguese.

This argument is thus invalid.

Your's is invalid.

Someone from the USA, says they are from the US. Just like a person who is Peruvian is from Peru. A person saying they are American, who is from North or South America, is correct in their statement as well. A person from Brazil wouldn't say they are from Portugal because they aren't. Language spoken has nothing to do with the country. The US speaks multiple languages as well.

Never heard of American dollars... Is that a new currency like the Euro, accepted in U.S., Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Chile, etc?

I think you mean US Dollars. U.S. Currency is not American. People in the U.S. are American. So are Canada and Mexico citizens. And yes, those further south (Brazil, Peru, Chile) are American too. You ever heard of North and South America?

Wikipedia: "The United States dollar (sign: $; code: USD; also abbreviated US$ and referred to as the dollar, U.S. dollar, US dollar or American dollar)"

Just saying ;)

Although mine was moved to PFS today,I was thinking there's no way I'd see it shipped this week. Well,I'll be the first to say I was wrong.... As mine has just moved to shipped.

At the end of the day this means apple is finally getting these out to everyone that ordered. Maybe not as fast one would like, but it's better than nothing.

Everyone who's waiting, stay strong! After having my SS 42mm a few weeks,it's worth the wait.

LUCKY!! Show us a pic when you get it today. Still waiting over here...

Very nice! Remind me again which one you are getting today? I've read so many blogs I can't remember. I'm in search of anyone getting the pink modern buckle.

Received my "Apple Watch Sport 42mm Space Grey Aluminium Case with Black Sport Band" today, had shipping estimates between 12-26th may. Live in the UK.

Good to know, thanks for sharing. :)

I feel bad for anyone who spent over 600$ for the Apple Watch. It's not but the novelty wears off fast. Like I told a friend the Apple Watch is like the iPad Mini and iPod Touch, it's there if you want one. It's not a must have/need device. It's a perfect fitness watch, but if you tend to wear designer watches learn fast that that Rolex is a lot nicer than a piece of tech on your wrist.

Speak for yourself. Who's to say what something is worth to anyone els? Maybe it isn't to you, doesn't mean it won't be or is for someone els. Also you don't NEED any device. These are all wants. You can get a blackberry from 6 years ago and make calls and text. But you WANT apps and a easier interface,Touch ID,iTunes....etc. and that's why you bought it.

My fiancée loves her iPad mini (so do others) she doesn't go to work without it. Now does it mean it's for everyone? No.,but it does mean,to each their own.

I hope I end up disagreeing with you, but only in a good way.

Despite my original purchase intentions, I ended up changing my mind on model & band on pre-order day, which ended up costing me a July estimated shipping date.

If I end up agreeing with you after waiting that long, I'm going to feel excruciatingly bad!

calm down.. just update everyone in 2-3wks of having it. And I am speaking for myself like many other have and can back up my thoughts. Its a great piece of tech but the novelty wears off fast. I use the fitness features more than anything on the watch. Everyone will have different experiences... And you're wrong with thinking your don't "Need" any device. A lot of devices are needed in everyday life (cellphone, computer, medical tech devices, etc.) just depends on your life and what's "needed" to sustain and keep it going.

my opinions on the watch are just that an opinion. friends ask if they should purchase one and I'm honest, it's cool but after about 2wks it wears off and its either a fitness watch or time piece. Enjoy your watch when it arrives but if you regular wear designer watches, post your feedback after about 2wks.
