10 minutes to open at Fashion Place. And we're about 10th back in line. Open! Open! Open!
Yeah, I was close to the front of the line, and it was nuts... All I could think was that only Apple could get away with a store opening like that, all while having zero sales. Sure, they gave away t-shirts, but even a free t-shirt couldn't draw a crowd (and photographers) like that for any other store I can think of.
That's some "wow-level" poor English.
Which I were there I'm at home in juneau sobbing in my pillow
Wish I were there. I'm at home in Juneau sobbing into my pillow
Well, first they need to fill the demand in the First World. How long will steve jobs keep ignoring third world ?
US, Canada do not need any more, there is already a lot..

There are still lots of countries which do not have a single Apple Retail Store, although there are enough in the US, Canada and UK.
Apple is opening a new store right on RIM's doorstep in Waterloo,Ontario.Waterloo is 75 minutes west of Toronto and happens to be the world headquarters of RIM.
The sleek aluminum styling of the current Apple line totally fits with classic Scandinavian minimalist styling.
An Apple Store on one of the walking streets in central Copenhagen would be great. The reason why such an obvious placement isn't happening is a long term, exclusive distribution agreement made in the 80s with the early Apple.
I think it is Tech Data but I'm not sure here. I was told the distribution agreement is schedule to expire in 2015. Then you will see an Apple store.
It is what I pointed out, microsoft is expanding to the moon and mars but Apple is still investing in first world countries. Jobs should realise that people in third people can need macs like people in the first world.
Ohhh anchorage, why do you have to be 8 hours drive away?
Anyone at the Anchor-Town opening take any photos or videos? And if so...share plz?

First of all, I read this and thought I was having a stroke for a second.
Secondly, Where is Microsoft expanding to? Theres ELEVEN stores, and their all in the U.S.
Thirdly, Apple does invest in the third world countries, who do you think makes all of the electronics of the world? Do you think China would be this huge developing industrial super power if they hadn't been making our Nike's and iPods for the last 30-40 years? Now that they took their lumps, and went through their industrial revolution, time for them as a society to evolve, as they are. Do you think China of the 80's could have supported Apple Stores? Even in the 90's? Fat Chance, we made them every dime. Once they become big enough we can move on to another struggling nation, put work into effect there, create a industry and so on and so forth. Yippee for Money.
Yes, apple is selling all those iPods, iPhones to countries all around the world but with minimum support and mainly from third party sellers. People are paying extraordinary prices to all those iPods just because apple is not officially or personally involved in the market, but selling through agent sellers. Limited iTunes store, limited content, lack of language support.
I would say order from Apple directly, if online ordering, or phone ordering is available. Obviously third world resellers are going to jack prices higher then they already are. But I don't think Apple see's the Third World countries as a viable source, not when there are so many places in the 1st world that they feel, i suppose, they need to cater to first. Its sad, but unfortunatly the truth of the matter.

agreed....i didn't get his/her microcopy expanding to the moon when apple has 330 stores, ms has about 13. online has made apple products available for a lot of people over many years. my pops was ordering online (with LOTS of prompting by bratty kids) before he had access to a physical one.
opening a store is like a high end store opening. there has to be a market. s. jobs told cupertino, home of the new apple spaceship, when asked about having a store there, simply said we can't support it with customer flow.
it is a business, not a charitable organization that will be supported by the local government if sales are not as expected.
