Always understand when people on MR hate on Apple products that's code for "DAMNIT I KNOW THEY WILL SELL AND PEOPLE WILL LOVE THEM AND IT JUST BURNS ME UP".

The iPad got so much hate referring to it as a feminine napkin. Now it's the most successful tablet in history.

The iPhone got so much hate from people saying nobody would give up a Blackberry for Apple's overpriced iPhone. Yeah and since then every year people are standing in long lines to buy one. And where's the Blackberry now? LOL

People are even trying to hate on the M1 Macs because they are far more powerful in CPU and GPU performance than any other computer in their class.

It’s a enthusiast discussion forum. You’ll always get both ends of the spectrum.

Regarding Spatial Audio, a full-sized headphones like AirPods Max begs to be used with Apple TV, not iPad and iPhone. I hope tvOS adds Spatial Audio support (sans dynamic head tracking) in the near future.
That’s what a good sound system is for but sure

When I can buy a pair of good enough noise cancellation headphones off Amazon for 30 bucks then you know spending 550$ on an Apple equivalent pair is insane.
Just we can share in your joy, please post a pic and/or link to the $30 headphones. I love seeing the Apple knock-off products in the airport SkyMall stores. And I am impressed by how they are almost identical in appearance and similar sounding name.

They may not be 30USD, but the Anker Soundcore Life Q20 is 60USD plus a 10USD off via coupon on Amazon. They work pretty darn well and I found the ANC comparable to my Sony h.ear on 3. Sound quality isn't quite as good though.

I like these headphones. I will get one. In Canada they’re $800.

Let carriers in Canada sell these. Divide $800 into 24 monthly payments added to the typical 2 year phone contract.

For the low data offerings and high prices charged in Canada alone I’m not going to produce any additional business for a carrier. One worse than the next one.

$550 for over ear headphones. And it doesn’t appeal to business customers because it doesn’t have a keyboard so it isn’t a good email machine.

This thread reminds me of Steve Ballmer.
I used to think Bose was taking the Michael when their headphones cost in the 300 bucks range. Now you have the brass neck of Apple charging nearly double that. Mugging people is illegal.

2 headphones instead of 1 and you also get dinner. I thought that was clear enough I didn’t need to spell it out but here you go. Glad you enjoy your headphones.
Enjoy your two plastic headphones and dinner. LOL.

I'll enjoy my collection of headphones, steak, wine, and dessert.

I find that many criticisms of the AirPods Max are still making the same cardinal sin when it comes to evaluating Apple products. Too many people very often first cover an industry, then they attempt to draw a link to Apple from time to time. In this case, they are attempting to link the AirPods Max to the next best equivalent they can find in the headphones market, then concluding that it's doomed to fail because of its price.

I feel this tends to lead to error and inaccurate analysis, because they are comparing Apple too much to other companies, while not allowing Apple’s unique attributes to speak for themselves or recognise how Apple is able to set themselves apart from the competition.

Rather, I maintain that the best way of covering Apple is to always begin with Apple first and foremost. You have to focus with Apple, and then you move outwards. You start with Apple, and then you analyse the industry that Apple operates in. Instead, what I see a lot of people still do today is that they just treat Apple as any other company. But Apple does a lot of things differently, and if all you are doing is simply comparing Apple to everyone else and then go “Hey, Apple isn’t following what everyone else is doing, so I don’t think whatever Apple is doing is going to work”, I think they go down the wrong path.
