Windows 7

How do you make this work in Windows 7, I realize I am on a MAC board but thought I would ask, maybe some instructions for setting up on Windows would be great including the proxy part

Thanks all

I am posting this right now through tethering on my iPhone 4. Is the internet speed slow? My phone has full bar and using the phone is faster than tethering the computer.

Someone mentioned in App shopper the following:

"You can tether your iPad, but you’ll need your laptop to act as the intermediary. Just add the iPad to the ad-hoc network."

How do you add Ipad to the adhoc network?

so you add ipad to the 'tether demo' network (if using the example video).. and it'll work?

wow

Shouldve Known...

I couldn't find the app on my iPad so I downloaded it directly from iTunes on my Mac. When I went to load it on my iPad I was informed the iPad needed newer software. Bummer... I was upset I missed the Netshare app back in the day on my iPhone so I was determined to get this one.

Grabbed this. It's ridiculous, my iPhone 4 has 6x the upload speed of my home internet connection on Clearwire... How sad.

Can't Apple remotely remove apps? Seems like eventually Apple will remotely pull the app.

So I just bought the app (the first one I've ever bought actually) Anyways, I'm getting a replacement MacBook Pro soon because of some dead pixels. Can someone tell me what I need to do, to make sure when I get my iTunes account on my new MacBook Pro, that I will still have the Handy Light app? (I don't yet have an iPhone 4)

Any way to tether iPad and iPhone with this app?

I purchased it hoping that maybe this was true. I have a feeling based on the setup process that I wont be able to. I have not had a chance to try though.

I watched it and read the thread . . . excuse the dumb question.

Is this tethering on 3G networks? It appears to be going wi-fi -> iPhone -> Mac. Or did I miss something in the video?

Yes, it's tethering on the 3G network. The app works by setting up a proxy for the 3G connection on your iPhone, which you then connect your computer to through an ad-hoc wifi network.

Need to jailbreak iphone anymore... ZERO

It does take quite a while to get going. Actually impressed on the setup process since the computer still thinks the wireless has no ip address. Now if only he could background the app :)

(btw, posted from tethered iphone)

My response times and throughput have been great. 3.4 mbit down 1.1 mbit up. Pages load in a snap. Pure awesomeness.

Will this be apple's first kill-switched app?

it might be, since its such a blatant offense. netshare getting pulled from the app store but not kill switched was apples warning. this time developers should know better, and not to mention at&t has finally started charging for tethering. the situation is not the same as when netshare came out.
