The iphone fold out to an ipad mini, is not a typical flip phone
I don't think you understand. As I said in my original post, I would like to see an iPhone flip phone, preferably at $1299 or less. I'm not really interested at this point in the rumoured iPhone foldable.

Flip phones are much cheaper than foldables, and therefore a hypothetical iPhone flip phone would likely be much cheaper than a hypothetical iPhone foldable. I am not interested in an iPhone foldable because of the cost, and potentially the size if significantly bigger than an iPhone Pro Max when folded.

Will this price be before or after Donald reimposes tariffs? Per Don the reprieve on chips, etc. is only temporary … or will they never come to be either because he doesn’t have the balls or he’s lying about that too?

He never changes his mind, he says. And in the same breath adds that he’s “flexible.” I presume this means that he can be bought, based on the evidence. Oh, and it’s “instinct,” too. None of which is an actual plan or strategy. 🙄

oh o k

I think it will start at $1999 for the base variant with 256 GB and the top end variant might sell for $2499. Waiting to hear more about the foldable from Apple. Will be very nice if it is has 3 cameras like the Z Fold.

I mean if its good and I can bin the iPad off.... its probably an ok price. Even better if the vision pro can further extend its display.

Why do people spend time and energy moaning about the fact that a feat of engineering will cost around $2,000 when their rent is probably $4,000 and payable every single month?
Rent?

My house payment isn't even a quarter of that.

My annual property taxes aren't even half of that.

And foldable phone screens are garbage, I don't care what they cost, I'll never own one. I'm just disappointed that Apple is even considering selling something that awful.

I might be one of the few who would pay the price, but... They have to absolutely solve the crease issue. Like 100% solved. 5 years from buying it, I don't want a hint of a crease.
And they never will. There's just no solution with current materials.

The problem is the plastic folding screen never last long - I have seen so many of those foldable screen cracks like biscuit in just 3/4 years.
If Apple release a foldable iPhone, probably It will not comes as a foldable screen factor but with 2 separate screens joined by some kind of hinge system.

I would be interested in an iPhone/iPad mini hybrid, if there's no crease. In terms of whether it does well or not will depend on what carriers price it on a: 36-48 month device plan + airtime.

My phone is my lifeline and in most cases my everyday tool/computer for work since I’m on the road and need quick access to work related files on the fly. I’ll be buying this one day 1. It will make reading spreadsheets, files etc much easier for me in my day to day.

Still don't want or need it. Why not make a phone that's smaller with less. Give me the iPhone Shuffle. Make it the size of a playing card, the mini wasn't mini enough. Like that dumb SNL sketch. Hell, I'll happily take an e-ink phone at this point. I really don't need all this crap on my phone when I usually use my iPad for all that.

Does a glass or plastic material exist that can be folded and unfolded repeatedly but doesn't leave a crease? I haven't heard of one

Apple will release a foldable and it will have a crease, minimized as much as possible but still there

Also, there's no way it'll be under $2000. Doesn't matter. It'll sell

The LightPhone2 exists.
